I don't know to me Applejack & Rainbow Dash are both way to similar in personality. They have a lot of the same interests and it seems like the only thing that they differ in is one likes to sleep and the other likes to work. I'm all for the opposites attract ships anyway. When they are dissimilar it forces the characters to find common ground and get drawn together and then you feel like there is much more development and solidification to the standing relationship at the end. Where as when they have common ground pre-established, i.e. AJ and Rainbow's competitiveness, it just feels like they just took the common ground up a notch. I mean yeah that is the way that it probably works in real life, but here sits a man lost in the world of romantic fantasies of polar opposites finding love... (I care deeply about the noncanon relationships of fictional characters) Could you explain why you like AppleDash so much? I avoided seeing clop for quite a while, but invetiably you come across some through google images or search without looking for it and then it wore me down and I was like fine I'll see some. No, no, no.When Istarted watching the show, and found out that this "thing" exists, I was disgusted. But then I started reading this thread/stuff about clop, and realised why you guys do it. And I have to say I understand you guys, no judging, seriously. You have perfectly good reasons to clop. (Love and tolerance, this show taught me a thing or two.) The reason why I don't do it is because I don't like doing that kind of stuff anyways. I'm not asexual, I find women VERY attractive actually, but I kinda don't like doing it with myself. The another reason is because I don't think I could create a romantical, yet alone sexual bond with anyone from the show. I mean, I could cuddle with a Flutters plushie all night (IF I HAD ONE) without getting sexual over it in any way.Ps. This is not implying that I couldn't create a romantic/erotic bond with some of the characters if they were real, but I can't do that if they're ponies I can respect that. Clop, like MLP, Is not for everyone. For me I would not say that I think of my self in a relationship with one of the characters. I do however find it fun to imagine what that kind of life would be like if I were actually living there as a pony. If you want a plushie, the nicest and most reasonably priced ones are the Aurora Plush. But from what I got out of the 1st one was They show staff has no opinion on nor will they comment on the "dark side of the fandom." Which is completely fair and understandable. The title of the video is insulting tho, I will agree. The 2nd video I had to stop <30 sec into it. I'm sorry I just don't like (grotesque) violence in MLP at all and prefer not to discuss it. I made quite a few arguments in the "Princess Molestia" thread that Parents need to take responsibility and "parent" their children. The "kids are finding it" argument was used a lot there as well. Easy steps to follow for Parents: (freedom varies by age and how much you feel your child is responsible) 1. Be with your child on-line. In the same room at the computer, looking at the screen at what they are looking at. 2. Know what sites they want to go to, Go to them First. This leads to... 3. Have a list of acceptable Sites they are limited to. 4. Make sure you use the Safe Search filters to limit the chance of "inappropriate material" showing up. Much of the Adult content is Labeled as Adult so Adults can find it easier. They are pretty basic but will do wonders. The internet, just like the TV, is not there to babysit your kid. You should use it with your kid to help teach them. Discuss shows and interact with them on the web sites. When they get older, take an interest in what they like. Even if you don't like it. Show them your interest and they will be open about it with you and you can use that to help guide them. Of-coarse if it is something that you really feel strongly against or feel that is not age appropriate. Talk to them and explain why. The above is not a perfect plan, but it is a guide line I would recommend following. This is coming from the guy that resolved never to become a brony, never to clop, never to ship characters in any show, never would want to play a Playstation game willingly, and never would like Pokemon after the 3rd generation. I said these things with such a burning passion that people were be shocked when they learned that I did one of these things. Let me tell you something, I own Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon Y; I love Shadow of the Colossus, The last of Us, and Journey (Playsation exclusives); I ship almost everything under the sun now; I am an avid clopper; and by my membership on this website you can kind of guess that I became a brony. I have seen countless R34 over the years and even I never thought I would become a clopper because pretty much all of the R34 I viewed before clop was of human or humanoid characters. Believe it or not there are a few people on this site that Definitively state "They are Not a Brony" And Pokemon has always kinda been Meh... to me. I don't hate it, It just never peaked my interest enough. I did like the WoW interpretation of it with their battle pet system. I have seen countless R34 over the years and even I never thought I would become a clopper because pretty much all of the R34 I viewed before clop was of human or humanoid characters. And I never thought I would be into a show about cartoon ponies either, but life does have an interesting sense of humor. Exactly how it happened to me LOL. Through my own searchings, I have found that you have to try rather hard to find something worthy to clop to... Just to prove my point, I had to type many, many key words on my google search engine, it's extremely hard to find something worthy. This. I actually noticed recently that Google removed terms like 'clop' and 'rule 34' from suggested searches, even with safe search off. Presumably the only way to accidentally find it now would be if it popped up (pardon the pun) in a Google image search... which, even before this change only ever happened to me once after scrolling down really far while searching for pics of Luna (again, safe search on default).
