music Questions about record labels.

I can't possibly figure out where to put this, so move this if necessary.

Okay so... yeah, that's basically it. I has questionz.

1) What does it mean when a label is independent? Is it good?

2) How does one send a demo? Do you send one song, a couple of songs, something you're working on?

3) What if I have no intentions to make any money at all?

4) Do you think my music is good enough for a label?

Thankee for the time.

1. Not part of the major labels or owned by one. Thus no shareholder expectations

2. Not sure if there's a given, likely 1 or 2 songs. Best chance you would have is if you had a solid self-made ep that they can see and appreciate.

3. Don't join a label, their purpose IS to make money.

4. You have 30 subs on ytube. Why not try to see if you can be a successful brony musician first before ever thinking of joining a label. A label's purpose IS to make money and to keep a large part of that. Most people now are starting their own music careers and getting any small profits directly to them via bandcamp. The movement is AWAY from labels. That would be your best option if would want to make small amounts of money or even free releases.

I think only about 3 brony musicians have been courted by labels so you have a long ways before you need to start worrying about them. Make the best music first before you even think to start going pro.

Thank you for the very detailed explanation, bruh. :3

Although, I want to add that brony music isn't my main thing. It's more like a side-project thingamajig.
