Wheatley1 32 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 I really liked the Official trailer and this gives us more about what plot does the movie has, I thought that the movie wasn't going to be good but we just needed to wait until more was released to understand that the looks of the mane 6 its not what makes the entire movie, what i really want to see, Lyra, even if she was just in the background it would be awesome OC Whiterunner: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/whiterunner-r4133 OC Wheatley: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/wheatley-r2834

Nas 2,873 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 My opinion hasn't really changed since I saw the first trailer. The goal here is to not judge something until you see it, that's the primary reason why we're all here, a part of the pony phenomenon. And, like the show, this could turn out to be something much better than we're all expecting. Refusing to give it a chance will just end up with unnecessary drama and confusion. I just hope most people will think like me and CD, and know it's not right to judge things based off a mere trailer. Though I do that in retrospect, it's quite a different example here, as this is MLP we're talking about. Might see it in theatres with a friend if I get open about ponies between now and then. 4 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. We've had leaked images of the movie today so I'm certain EQG will get leaked soon after the premiere date.

Winona the Dog 1,984 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 Do you guys think it's best to go into the movie with low expectations? I think that's how most people who think it's going to suck should see it. Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 Defiantly better than the first trailer. I totally called the comedy coming from Twilight trying to adapt to the human world. Oh and good thing Spike can talk to provide the sarcasm.Don't know if I'll see it in theaters considering that the nearest theater is like 45 minutes away.
Skye Starlight 223 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 Well I'm surprised this trailer cleared up a few things and it seems better than I expected! I hope it will be as good they say but I trust the writers The onl thing that bothers me is the male Pony in Equestria wich seems to be the equivalent of the other guy from the first trailer, witch pretty much confirms a boring cliche love story! Maybe they sent him through too? Maybe he was scouting out the human world and that's why he was there? Maybe he got sent in not long after meeting Twilight? Maybe he's special and he actually came from the human world! There's a lot of speculation that could go on there. 1 I am prone to leaving both short and long posts as well as with my profile feed... ponyvangelist 732 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 For me, the problem with Equestria Girls is that I absolutely despise the premise, but it's being made by people who I know are brilliant, and I'm confident will do the best job possible with what they have. Thus I'm faced with a problem akin to an immovable object encountering an irresistible force. If their collision results in the total annihilation of everything in the ponyverse, I'll be sure to let you know.
Spring Storm 276 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 Here's how my opinion on Equestria Girls has shifted with every new thing that has come out: December 2012: I read about Hasbro filing two trademark applications for Equestria Girls. I hear it will be used on merchandise. I think that's pretty cool, but don't think much of it. Late February/early March 2013: I learn that Equestria Girls will be a spin-off of Friendship is Magic, and that it will be set in the human universe. Stock images surface showing the mane six in their new forms. "Sweet Celestia!" I think, "They look awful! Oh please, let this not be as terrible as it looks..." April (?Really having trouble finding the exact date on this) 2013: Another image of human-form mane six surfaces. "They look better this time. Maybe this won't be too bad." May 2013: We learn that it won't be a show, but will be a movie released in theaters (though they might do a show later, who knows. I remember reading that it would "air this spring", and obviously, that didn't happen). The first trailer pops up shortly after. "Well, okay. They look a lot better in motion than in their stock art, so the designs don't really put me off anymore. Spike has been confirmed to be a dog... I don't like it. It means he probably won't speak. Spike has already been shoved in the background a lot, so I don't like him becoming a dog. Unless he becomes a talking dog, which would be awesome. Other than that, the movie looks very stereotypical based on the trailer. They've made it look like your typical high school movie. Hopefully they will bring something new to it. I'm getting a little excited, this looks decent." Which brings us to yesterday/today (I'm just going to consider the past 24 hours as today): My girlfriend comes over, and says there's a new trailer for Equestria Girls. I watched it, and... "WOW!! DOG-SPIKE TALKS! THANK GOODNESS! (The possibility of Spike not being able to talk had really been bothering me, sorry XD) And it looks like it'll have really good humor! And the "typical high school b****" is indeed Sunset Shimmer! Holy cow, this movie is going to be GOOD!" And now, I just saw the latest batch of leaked images... All I can say is SWEET KITTENS IN A BASKET THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING AND EPIC! I'm SUPER EXCITED for Equestria Girls now! IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT!! 1 Together since October 19th, 2011

MrHaru 217 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 This really should have been the first trailer. I'm still pretty iffy on Spike as a dog and a few other things, but I'm certainly more curious than I was before. Can I ask why the hell everybody is so ridiculously hung up on mentioning Spike being a dog over and over and over and over and over and over AND OVER again? What the hell else did people expect? He couldn't be a little kid because high school: at least with him being a dog that makes for funnier shenanigans AS WE ARE NOW SEEING HAHAHA, OH LOOK IT MIGHT NOT TURN OUT TO BE SO BAD AFTER ALL, OH WOW I DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING AT ALL, THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY OUT OF THE BLUE, EVERYONE WAS SPLIT APART AND FIGHTING, BUT NOW MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE BECOMING OKAY WITH IT AS MORE PREVIEWS COME OUT. Dark Qiviut 22,395 June 8, 2013 Share June 8, 2013 (edited) @@Sir.Flutter Hooves, If you want to make your opinion genuinely credible, don't pull that "bronies-aren't-the-target-audience" strawman. It's ridiculous and makes you look extremely ill-informed, and your sarcasm doesn't do anything other than detract your point. Equestria Girls isn't targeted to little girls. It targets adolescent girls. In other words, ten- to fourteen-year-old children. These kids are in elementary school, approaching graduation from elementary school, or beginning their first year in high school. EQG's target audience is exactly the same as Monster High's. MLP:FIM's target audience (the toys being marketed to girls, but the animation is targeted to families) is much more different compared to Equestria Girls. Moreover, almost everything about Equestria Girls has been very messy and shaky. The first leak was bad, but if it was one, I'll shrug and move on. But there have been multiple leaks of so many contrasting character design concepts, including this one that got nearly everyone riled up, the prototype dolls, and two shaky trailers that cram way too much information (although the second one is mildly better). When contrasting information is spilled online this quickly, then it sends the message that EQG has poor quality development and control. The mildly better trailer did a better job being a bit more graphic and showing rather than telling in the first quarter, but that doesn't give Hasbro and DHX a free pass for screwing up EQG's development and production from a conceptual standpoint prior. Hasbro treats this spinoff as FIM's next big thing, but we're approaching the debut of this movie, and we have literally no details about the toyline other than the widely panned prototypes. From a marketing standpoint alone, Hasbro has continually fumbled on the project, and the zigzagging makes the situation even more bewildering. Hasbro is a billion-dollar corporation, and the fact that they apparently don't know what they're doing makes EQG's marketing an intellectually insulting train wreck. If Equestria Girls showed a lot more good news instead of bad and didn't demonstrate development hell, then this movie wouldn't currently be under the subject of such controversy. A wonderful post - no question about it. For me, I simply want to be able to enjoy this movie for it's own merits. If there is a silver lining to be found, I want to find it. I don't want to immediately write off this movie because it wasn't Lauren's vision. I also don't want to blast any of the good people behind it, who are also greatly responsible for FiM in the first place (the hate Meghan Mccarthy has gotten has been *ridiculous* - I'm happy Faust defended her on 4chan though). I simply want to try to enjoy a good movie, and I don't know if it's good because I haven't seen it yet. I don't want to dislike it because of all the behind-the-scenes drama which isn't worthwhile. I want to dislike this movie if it turns out to be a bad movie, *that is it*. I don't want to dislike it because of my own ego.
