private New Element Wielders [Project N.E.W]

Gardenia had stayed silent since the princesses made themselves known. She had always felt more than a little intimidated by them, in all their power and wisdom. She was absolutely shocked that she had been chosen for such an honor and responsibility. Specifically the element she was chosen to represent: Honesty. Even now, Gardenia couldn't get a word in, she was never one to forthright speak her mind. Certainly a more brash pony would be a better fit? But upon hearing the reassurance that Celestia had been watching them all since they were young, Gardenia knew at what instance she had proven to Celestia that she would fit the Element of Honesty, and it scared her to think that it would be that instance which set Celestia's expectations of her.

Gardenia looked between the other five ponies who from now on would be her companions, eventually her friends, even. They all seemed to be taking the whole news in their own ways, but there was one constant: they were questioning the princesses themselves.

It didn't surprise Gardenia too much that Princess Luna was the one to run out of patience first, but nonetheless Gardenia winced. She was relieved when the others suggested to go ahead get out of here, to finally start the long journey ahead of them.

"Enough!" shouted Luna, her voice echoing around the garden. "You just need to trust us! If we just got them and retrieved them for you they wouldn't even work. The journey will enable you to work together in perfect harmony and use the elements. Basically if you don't retrieve them yourselves you can't use them," she continued, answering Peachy Keen's question. The mare nodded, still not fully understanding, but not wanting another outburst like that. "Well we should probably get going now shouldn't we?" said Anarchy, attempting to change the topic. "I agree. If we're going to do this, we might as well get prepared now. There's no point in waiting," agreed Peachy Keen. She would have to grab her saddlebag from the room she had rented, a room which she now realized would never be used. Otherwise, however, the mare was, at least physically, ready to go. "Yeah, time's wasting," added Scribe Shield. The stallion turned towards their leader, Ginger Snap, and said, "Snap, wasn't it? Want to take a look at that map, see where the first stop is?" Peachy Keen was anxious to see the map as well. Hopefully they wouldn't be headed anywhere too dangerous. "Let me take a wild guess, a warm beach to the south, as far from danger as we can get?" asked Scribe Shield. Peachy Keen giggled a bit, finally adjusting to the situation around her. "Yes, let's see that map. We need to know where we should head first. Does it tell us which Element is which, or does it just mark the locations of them without any labels?"

Princess Celestia: Leave this place. Equestria depends on it!

Ginger Snap looked down at the map before replying "Uh oh." Ginger Snap coughed a bit before finishing his sentence "The first of the five we need to retrieve is in the Everfree forest". Ginger Snap gulped and started walking towards the door.

"Everfree huh? That's not as bad as I thought it would be. Alright guys lets go!"

Anarchy cantered along as the other ponies shook their heads at Anarchy's behavior. Anarchy thought for a moment. Why am I an element of harmony? Will I even be able to wear it, due to my chaos magic? Do I have to wear a tiara?

"The first of the five we need to retrieve is in the Everfree forest"

Firebolt was about to say "Right!" and then continue with the others. Everfree was where she got her cutie mark, after all. It was super easy to confuse most of the baddies there via fake fire. They never took the obvious that the fire was fake, and fled. But then, she realized how little sense that made. Shouldn't they be going there, which was most likely the most difficult place to obtain an element, last?

"Uhm. Excuse me, but why does that have to be the first one to get? Can't we get them in any order? Starting with the easiest one to get instead of the, most likely anyway, hardest?" She asked, somewhat cautiously.

"Well The Everfree is just out near Ponyville, it's probably the closest. And I wouldn't be so sure about it being the most dangerous either." He looked over towards the Ginger Snap. "Right?"

"I'm willing to bet at least a few of us have been there before too. I don't know where else we might need to go, but I'm going to have to agree with him, thats as good a place to start as any."

"There is an order on the map,and I feel it is best to follow it" Ginger Snap coughed before continuing "...Plus it's the closest like Scribeshield mentioned. It may not even be the hardest. Also the elements are not listed we will just have to fund out when we get there." Ginger Snap looked very eager to leave.

And now I feel like an idiot. The mare thought to herself. But threw on a sheepish smile. "Uhm... yea. I suppose." She said, trying to hide the hint of nervousness in her voice, then finally jumped over the bush to join the others and begin to leave. Hopefully they didn't consider her stupid now...

"Great!" said Ginger Snap. "I think we should take the train to Ponyville to save time!" Ginger Snap chuckled a bit "Beats walking and flying, and the deadly alliance won't expect us to." Ginger Snap looked down at the map and up at the sky before replying "Best get moving now!"

(The reason I keep saying deadly alliance is because I basically grew up with this game series)

Gardenia began following the rest of the group outward, and turned her head to the appointed leader, "Um, Ginger Snap, sir. Do you suspect that Discord and his ally would even be expecting us? It's just that... well, we are not exactly the most conspicuous of individuals, not yet anyway."

"Gardenia, you don't have to call me sir if you don't want to. Anyways, I don't have a clue if he will expect us. He could not have a clue ,or be listening in on this very conversation right now. I really don't know, but I'm confident he does not know for the time being," Ginger Snap fastened his hat back as straight as it could go before continuing. "I'm eager to become friends with all of you, and I wish that we all could have met on better circumstances, but the fate of Equestria is at stake. Heck, maybe I'll buy you all a round of cider after this!"

((*gasp* I'm-I'm alive!))

As soon as the group left the Royal Gardens, Anarchy's personality changed, as he usually did when things became serious. He himself became serious, almost leader-like. "Alright everypony we need to come up with a plan! I pitch that we use stealth and illusions to scare off any potential threats. I'm guessing myself and Firebolt would be fit for that duty. The rest, well I don't really know what you guys can do so... yea. I don't wanna go in there blind. We need a good plan."

((In my defense, I fully expected someone else to interject. RPing is so hard with like 6 characters in a single scene sad.png ))

Gardenia scraped a hoof at the ground, and took one final look back at the gardens, "this is it. I ask just for an opportunity to see the world and I am tasked in helping to save it. Can't say I expected that."

((I'm here. Was waiting for someone to post, as well.))

Firebolt blinked. Hard. Did this pony seriously suspect she could use many illusions? "Wait..." She began. "I really can't do all that much magic. You've got the spell you saw earlier, a forgery spell, and simple levitation. That's it. I mean, I'll try to do whatever's needed of me, but... Not so sure I'll be too good for that."

@,

Anarchy blinked as well. She seemed like a pretty talented unicorn. But alas, Anarchy was wrong. "Well I can honestly say I didn't expect that. Anyways, that fire illusion is good by itself, but with my chaos magic we'd make probably create some type of wicked awesome combo. Am I right?" Anarchy gave Firebolt a little bump to show he would be happy working with her. For some reason, he kind of liked her. As a friend! Anarchy quickly thought to himself. She seemed pretty cool, despite her fiery name. He wanted to get to know this pony a little better. Since nopony seemed to be giving any ideas, he turned towards Firebolt again. "So where ya from Firebolt?"

(OOC: Sorry, but I also needed someone to post for it to continue)

"Oi! I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but I like your plan of combining magic to help us through the Everfree Forest. I hope we don't run into any baddies on the way to get the element. Also I think after we get the element we need to set up camp for the night, we'll need it for the journey to the other elements."

Scribe cleared his throat loudly.

(I too was waiting some someone to answer, I always feel like I post too much :P )

"Camping to the Everfree? Nothing to it. Never really saw the big deal about the place." He said. "But we should lay a few ground rules first..."

He shot a sideways look at Anarchy and Firebolt.

"... such as NOT using magic to terrify our own team?"

Anarchy chuckled. He had gotten used to ponies not trusting him. "Don't worry. Any magic I use will not terrify the team. Too much." He said the last part with a smirk and a wink. He knew it would irk Scribe. He didn't like when ponies without authority tried to pretend they did have it. He didn't know why. Maybe it was because he respected actual authority figures. "Loosen up. I already said I'm not goo a do anything bad."

Honestly, he didn't know why he was being so uptight himself - it wasn't how he'd normally act. Something about how he had felt the need to intervene when he felt that complete strangers were in danger, it wasn't normal.

Maybe he had changed more than he had thought. He sighed heavily.

"Just... Warn us or something before you start turning trees into dragons or setting us on fire or anything." He said, forcing a weak smile. If they were going to be traveling together then the very least he could do was try to be civil.

Firebolt grinned slightly at Anarchy's bump. It was nice to see at least somepony was trying to loosen things up a bit. "I'm from Baltimare, actually." She began "Good market as I'm the only blacksmith there, but..."

"... such as NOT using magic to terrify our own team?"

Firebolt's voice trailed off at these words. She really only interacted with the same ponies frequently, so her fiery ways were no surprise to them. On top of that, everypony would ignore her if she didn't introduce herself in the most flashy way possible. Terrifying? Not really. The fire was so obviously fake, and designed to scare a ferocious animal. Not ponies. And now, because of that stupid stupid action, mostly everypony in this group, with the exception of Anarchy, hated her. Kinda hard to be a freaking Element of Harmony like that, right? Instead of saying all of this though, she mumbled a semi-silent "Of course...". Her ears flopped back without her permission, but she made no plans to lie about how she was feeling right now.

Ginger Snap gave Scribe Shield a stern look followed by a sigh. @ "Look, Scribble I know you didn't mean any harm but try and go easy. I know you were just being loyal, but go a bit easier because their magic will be of great use to us. Also Firebolt, @ you really need to turn that frown upside down. Cheer up, things will definitely get better."

Well that was unusual... It wasn't the first time he had been called that - ironically the other pony whom had was the 'previous' element of laughter.

'Huh.' He thought.

"Uh, sure. Yeah." He muttered, taken aback and not really sure what to say in his surprise at the situation. "Not being myself, just ignore me."

@,

Gardenia didn't know what to say or do. She had no idea how to ingratiate herself with these five strange ponies. "Perhaps... one at a time." she resolved.

She took notice of the stallion Scribeshield having spoken to the two other unicorns. "The ones I... well, it was I who acted like a sheltered filly... but still, he seemed to have taken my feelings in to account, which was nice of him."

Gardenia trotted up to Scribe, but making sure to keep a few feet away still, "Um, thank you, Mr. Scribe." she said in a quiet tone.

"Huh, maybe I was a little bit out of order I guess." He shrugged as he turned to the mare who had spoken to him. "Don't mention it, I, uh, well I couldn't just stay quiet. Not too good at that..."

He noticed that she seemed to purposefully be keeping her distance, so didn't press the issue. Instead waving back towards the gardens.
"Uh, you seemed pretty upset back there, are you ok?"
