I'm not sure if there's a topic on this, I'm on my iPad and its 5am so I can't really search to check so yeah...

 

Game Dev Tycoon is an indie game by Greenheart Games, it recently got the green light from steam so it'll be released soon on there. It's a simple yet highly addictive game I which you are a game developer developing games through time, staring with text games, progressing through to MMOs with 3d virtual reality graphics.

 

It's pretty fun, y'all should check it out.

Yeah I want it really bad, but I'm probably going to wait until It comes out on Steam in August. I watched Sips's play through of it and it looks really good, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I'm currently seeing how long I can run an MMO for before it starts making a loss, so far I've got one running for 20+ years, making over 140 billion in profits, 600+ billion in total sales income

 

I basically have infinite money right now because of it

They said they will send a key to get it free on Steam to everyone who bought it on their website, but I don't know if it will carry over saves.

Haven't played it yet, but I heard a nice story about the game.

The devs released a crack on their own that was programmed in a way that those who downloaded that version would fail due to piracy in the game itself. Good idea to forestall pirates.

I have it. It is really fun and I am addicted to it. I have some pretty successful games as well. And Sips has a very nice (and hilarious) playthrough.

I think I may do a play though video of it, I like supporting indie developers, even if just one viewer buys the game then spending a few hours on videos would be worth it in my opinion

I'd like to see that. I'd do one too, but I've never done playthroughs before and I don't know how entertaining I'd be. I'd watch yours though.

My favorite thing about it is that it has an anti-piracy measure where if you pirate it, your in game character loses profits to piracy. A good and creative way to get back at thieves.
