Me: (in thought) then why would you post yourself? "

Females I've known never do that. Maybe they were raised differently. Or maybe these females are just a figment of my imagination. I'm not quite sure.

It's mostly an attention thing. They want to hear that they are pretty, and when they are not hearing it enough times for their liking, they have to bring up the subject. It's a bizarre thing some females do. I don't understand why anyone freaks out so much about their looks. We're all beautiful in our own special way, (as cliche as that sounds) and we all need to embrace it.

I'm also a girl, and I hate that some do this. It creates a stupid stereotype. 

 

I think, as Lume said, it's just fishing for compliments.

I guess some people have that need for attention, because I've seen all genders and sexes do it. It gets more irritating when other people start posting things such as "omg noooo ur so preti im so ugli" and then it turns into this whole big "OH MY GOD NO U" thing. 

Which is why I don't go on social media sites. XD

First off, nice drawing. c: But as a girl, I have some ideas as to why some girls seem to do this. One word for most of them; attention. They usually want people to say that she's wrong and that she looks amazing/beautiful. They're just fishing for compliments; from what I have seen, at least.

Eh, actually I kinda get it. I'm not a girl, but I think that its probably for attention. 

 

I don't really know any other reason except maybe because they feel bad and need a reminder.

 

I've seen plenty of girls do this on social media. So yeah I know what you mean.

 

I've actually seen guys do it to. Not as many but it happens.

 

Honestly I've not seen many of these girls as actually being ugly. Now me on the other hand.. Ok lol, I'm kidding, besides I accepted that I'm ugly and just sorta moved on from that, doesn't bother me that much.

Girls just do it for the attention or they are fishing for compliments. Many have low self esteem, so they might actually not be kidding. Most girls that say they are ugly are always not, noone is ugly we are all beautiful in our own way. Then I look at myself in the mirror and I see this:

 

I'm actually not really that ugly, I just have a weird humour, a humour were I make fun of myself. I would never post a picture of myself on the internet. Not a real one, maybe as an avatar but that's it. It really is just a cry for attention, I would do it for the lolz.

It's for attention. They just want to get like Facebook likes and comments that say "No your not your so hot, I can even get you a boyfriend." See this is one of things that annoy the living hell out of me when I go onto Facebook. Just all of the comments that say "I'm fat, I'm ugly, Why doesn't anyone like me, My life sucks etc. This crap needs to stop. I do not understand not only girls but, everyone. I don't care who you are if your fat good for you. Lose some weight .-. . If your ugly then maybe get some plastic surgery. If no one likes you, you must be doing something wrong. If your life sucks then fix it. All of this is just common sense. Something half of the damn world can't seem to pick up yet. It's not a skill nor a talent.

Yeah, that's the reason I don't post too many pics of myself, because I can post a pic and the comments can go something like this:

... Yeah, it drives me nuts. Sometimes i just wanna say "STFU and take the damn compliment!" Yeah, some of us girls are pretty insane.
