movies/tv Spider-Man or Dark Knight Trilogy?

I have a feeling I know how the poll will turn out, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

Which did you guys think was better, the Spider-Man or Batman trilogy?

 

I know I'm in the minority here but I preferred Spider-Man.

nanananananananana Batman!  Even if my sister hadn't Spidermanned me out with the first two, Batman is and always will be my most favorite superhero.

 

ETA: Even if Batman wasn't my favorite, Christian Bale would probably sway my vote slightly

As great as the spider man series was, after looking back at it, i sort of aged after giving it another go, with some akward acting in the mix, but that's just me.

 

The batman series was just more better and improved in many ways like story, characters, and action, truly, this is the best of the trilogy with batman!

The way I'm looking at is like this... the first movie's of both were good, the sequel's were both better, but when you look at the finale for both, dark night's ending was mindblowingly awsome, the acting and effects were great, and I loved how they made bane. But spider man three? Not so much... let's just say I dislike it and leave it at that.

As much as I grew up with the three original Spider-Man films that Sony and Sam Raimi directed, and came out with two great movies. Not counting the third one since, the third film was absolutely horrendous.

 

Christopher Nolan actually saved the Batman film franchise after Tim Burton was booted from the director slot and replaced with Joel Schumacher who decided to follow the Adam West Batman road of the campy bright and colorful style of the 1960s Batman TV show. Nolan went to the serious dark road that Tim Burton started out with, and used that formula to make two great Dark Knight films that would show the real Batman. Not the silly, bad puns, and bad acting kind of Batman. So I would have to go with the Dark Knight trilogy, since it really lifted the Batman films from the shallow grave. Sorry, Raimi. I enjoyed your films though.

I thought the Spider-Man movies were fine, but in my opinion Batman Begins was a better movie than any of them, and the trilogy only got better from there. Gotta go with The Dark Night trilogy.

I liked the original Spider-Man movie trilogy very much, especially 1 and 2 and even though it's very flawed I found enjoyment in 3(except for the emo-dance sequence or whatever the fuck that was), and I'll take all 3 over the crapfest that is The Amazing Spider-Man. But the Dark Knight Trilogy, I loved. It was a very serious and realistic take on Batman, very long movies but always a captivating joy to rewatch imo.

I do like the Spiderman trilogy and I love Spiderman as a hero way, waaaayyyy more than Batman... but I think the Dark knight trilogy is better all around.

They're two very, very different series.

 

Spiderman is much better as a superhero series. It's all about the hero. Even the "dark" parts are hero-ish, and pretty light hearted as far as dark movie scenes go. The problems are all hero problems with hero solutions; a crazy guy wants to take over the place, spiderman stops him. A crazy guy wants to build a machine that will destroy the city, spiderman stops him. A crazy guy wants revenge on spiderman and he has to defend himself. The farthest movies ever pull away from this is when he gets his black suit in 3, but instead of rolling with it and showing the inner turmoil, we have emo Peter doing sexy dances with other women in front of his ex, taking advantage of his landlords daughter's affection for him, and just generally being a complete douchebag -_-

 

Batman is more of a drama series with a hero as the main character. The first is all about how far one can go in fighting evil before one becomes evil oneself, and how many casualties of war are acceptable when attempting to eradicate evil. The second is extremely dark, all about the evil, anarchy, and how human nature and perception can be manipulated to make good people into monsters. The third is... I confess that I don't remember much except all the problems my friends and I talked about after we saw it, so it might actually be really cool, and my perceptions of it have been clouded by all the stupid stuff and blatant contradictions to the comics that it had. Also, I've only seen it once, and that doesn't help. I've seen all the other movies mentioned here numerous times.

 

Both had good 1st movies, great 2nd movies, and bad 3rd movies (okay, Rises was a lot better than SM3, but it was still bad). Interesting parallel, that.

 

So it depends on what you prefer, superhero movies, or drama movies with superheroes in them.

At the moment, I prefer superheroes, because most of movie watching is done while programming, and I just want to look up every now and then to watch somebody beating the shit out of somebody else

PS. Heath Ledger role as the Joker was FLAWLESS! Thanks to his amazing actor skills, the Joker will always be my favorite super-villain of all times

The first two Spider-Man movies were a lot of fun, great comic book movies.  The third one tried to do *way* too much and fell apart under its own weight. 

The Dark Knight trilogy, however, were not just "great comic book movies", but great *movies* period.  The Spider-Man movies, as fun as they were, had the typical here's the hero, here's the villan set up.  But the Dark Knight trilogy was fascinating in the *way* the stories were told.  I *loved* the first act of Batman Begins, really developing a solid foundation for Bruce Wayne and *why* he would become Batman.  The Dark Knight had an intricate plot with constantly escalating tension.  And The Dark Knight Rises had this uneasiness before descending into utter chaos.  It was just plain great filmmaking.

 

And frankly, nothing in Raimi's Spider-Man is as riveting as the Batman/Joker interrogation scene in The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight was an amazing movie, but I actually prefer the Spiderman trilogy. I didn't even see the last Dark Knight movie to be honest. I have always really liked the first two Spiderman movies a lot.
