Sooo, I'm starting off my new project, which I'm going to end!

(Loads of my projects end, because I'm not that into doing it later...)

I'm going to ponify the Rider-Waite -tarot card deck. ~

Here's my first one: the Fool, Pinkie Pie.

So, I'm starting off a new project - my Tarot pony deck project!

I've always thought of doing a deck like this. I like "traditional" pony cards, so I decided that I'd ponify a classic set of cards.

The inspiration struck me from Rannva's Harmony Deck ( [link] ). The cards are so pretty, and so awesome, so check them out!

But I, myself, am a sucker for tradition and the symbolism in Rider-Waite -cards. So, solution? I'll make my own deck! (but I might buy Rannva's deck too. XD)

My only goal is to finish this project. XD I'm so bad at finishing my own projects, so that is my only goal. And to finish this project, I'll have a set of laminated cards in my hand. Not a custom-printed from a fancy custom playing card printing company, but just a simple set of laminated cards in my own hands. (After I've skanned all my sketches and digitally enhanced and fixed some flaws, like Pinkie's leg in this one).

But, I could reconsider having custom-printed made, if there are people out there who'd want the deck too. But that's something I guess will never happen. biggrin.gif

But, here's my first sketch: The Fool, Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie Pie is the perfect fool, when you think of it. The fool isn't really what the english world "foolish" means nowadays. She's more of a child-like person, who journeys through all the difficulties of life (the rest of the Major Arcana), and always survives. Her number is 0, which symbols the cycle of birth, life, and death. She might go on journeys seemingly oblivious to danger, but her journey is filled with hope.

So, as I said, Pinkie is pretty much the perfect fool. Laughs at the face of danger, goes forward fearlessly and enjoys her life.

I shall be posting here the rest of my project too ^^

Well, I'll be monitoring this thread.

Are you gonna do the whole deck, staves, coins and all?

Are you gonna "defuse"some of the more negative cards (hanged man, tower ect.)

My Art Thread, updated (almost) daily

Tomorrow will take us away, far from home

No one will ever know our names

But the bard songs will remain.

Yes, I'm going to try and do the whole deck ^^

And it really depends on the card - like, I don't think I'm going to "defuse" the hanged man, since the picture really isn't that brutal, the meaning is. But Death, The Devil and The Tower are cards, that I'll have to think about...

Oh, and I almost forgot:

Here's the next one: the Magician.

And I think Twi's the best magician. The magician is a wise pony, who knows everything about magic, languages, medicine... Well, various things! She has studied long and hard (and is now "a full grown magician" - that's why it's Twilicorn).

I'm now thinking, that maybe I should use OC's in this deck, too. Either OC's or I'll have to use the same ponies again and again, and that seems kinda... lame.

I really have to figur out, which ponies I'll use for what card. The first two were easy, but the rest... Hmm.
