What do you think of the G3 movies?

So loads of g4 fans hate g3, but a fair amount also like them. So I wonder, what do you think of the generation 3 mlp movies and why?

I haven't watched them except for one which I was forced to watch.(While waiting for an episode premier.)

 

It wasn't that bad, but generally a bit cheesy. I wouldn't sit down to watch all of them, though.

 

(Although those really weird toddler ponies which were like 3.5 or something was horrifying. Literally.)

I saw The Princess Promenade and it was way too many rainbows and singing little fairies for me. NOTHING TO DO WITH G4!!

Besides Spike is way better now. He used to be all fussy, he didn't even let the Princess touch mud.

I thought it was a little hard to watch. Namely the animation style and the...voice acting. It all just felt too weird to me since I'm used to G4. My friend and I watched every generation just to see how G4 is a MILLION times better than what it used to be.

I personally like G4 the best, or maybe its because im just biased. Lauren Faust made g4 less "girly" for a lack of a good word. Mainly to keep the kid's parents interested in the show. Kinda like spongebob and the subliminal adult jokes within the episodes.

 

I'm almost 20, and I found myself laughing at a few scenes throughout the seasons. The animation style is better, themes, just about everything.

It was like TV torture. I hated it. There was so much of these little sprites, the wings of the ponies were tiny (( Sort of like Snowflake from G4 )) and a lot worse than G4. I'm happy that Lauren Faust decided to change the extreme girliness.

Yeaaaah I didn't like 'em that much. I tried giving them a watch but like, I just don't like it. I personally think that the storyline's lame and that the art style's just too much of the trying too hard to be cutsey wootsey for me.

I never seen any of the G3 movies but  if they were up on YouTube any where I might take a sneak peak (sorry if I sound cheap). I've seen the G1 movies as well as the Equestria Girls.

My younger sister has watched a few and wanted me to watch some with her. The only G3 movie I do remember watching is A Very Minty Christmas. It was okay but I find Minty really annoying as I hate clumsy people/ponies (thats different with Derpy Hooves though) and I don't find the storyboard that good enough for me.

Well, I decided to give G3 a chance a while back. I looked up some episodes on Youtube and prepared myself for the worst. What I found was that it wasn't as horrible as some people made it out to be, but it wasn't appealing to me. It just didn't compare to G4 in my opinion. G4 had really beautiful art, colors, characters, music, and stories. G3 just didn't have that same greatness to it. Just my opinion.

Never saw any of the movies. Bought "A charming birthday" and "Dancing in the clouds" at a garage sale for $0.50. Didn't really go into it with any expectations. They weren't really that bad. Kinda liked them. I obviously wasn't expecting G4 godliness. But they were descent enough. Good animation, nice musical score, O.K. voice acting. Considering writing or drawing the episodes in a G4 style,  w/ a little more substance added on.

I don't mind them, and they aren't as horrible or brain dead, but certainly not as good either.

 

But the newborn cuties is something that should be forgotten...

Most of them I thought were boring, however I've seen a G3 film called 'Twinkle Wish Adventure' which I thought was good: sure it isn't as good as G4 but what other MLP gen is?

 

It even has Andrea Libman in it as I think the G3 Sweetie Belle.

 

Anyways for G3 it really isn't that bad in my oppinion: and I love this quote from it...

They are mostly meh. The only times I've watched them was when I was doing it Ironically. It's kinda fun to make funny commentary on bad movies (Ex. Mystery Science Theater 3000). I can't really watch them seriously. You can tell they were only made for their target audience; as opposed to g4 which can be enjoyed by many age groups. They just aren't very good.

They're so cringy and sickly sweet, but I just can't help make fun of it. But to be fair, they're mostly harmless and I can obviously tell it was made for younger audiences in mind.

Though I will say this, without G3, we wouldn't have Friendship is Magic because basically FiM was G3 but a million times better. Plus, it got voice actors that got their start in G3 being carried over to Friendship is Magic, and so as the characters too.

Also, on a side note, I'm surprised that FiM didn't make a G3 parody episode by now because that could've been comedic gold.

I have watched them all however i cant remember all of them.

Dancing in the Clouds and Friends are never far away were 2 of my favorite ones as far as i can remember, since they explained what happened to the Pegasus Ponys.

I also enjoyed A Very Minty Christmas and Twinkle Wish Adventure. So i enjoyed quite a few. 

G3 isnt horrible, its just the most innocent Generation to watch, which sometimes makes some of the stuff boring to watch as an adult. However it still has nice messages.
