I have a question that I have been confused about for quite some time.

I did a bit of reasearch, and either I'm stupid or this hasn't been questioned yet.

I have noticed that not every post I make tends to be an active post, my question is Why is this and what exactly is an 'Active Post' ?

Thanks.

Posts made in Roleplay World and Cloudsdale Colosseum don't count!

Some sections of the forum's don't count any post's you make in them for obvious reasons.

Posts made in Cloudsdale Colosseum will not count towards your overall post number, due to the fast nature of posting in the Forum Games section and the utter randomness of the forum Lounge.

Source: Why is my post count not increasing?

As already stated, certain forums do not count towards one's post count, because they are not as contributing as others posts in other sections. Forum Lounge, for example, is filled with silliness and simple reaction images to many posts; this would not be fair to those who make longer, thought out posts in all of Sugarcube Corner, for example.

An active post is a post made in any section other than the Cloudsdale Colosseum or Roleplay World subforums. Posts in those sections don't count towards your post count.

Active post is simply a post which indicates that you're active, I think. Just look at the name and stuff. Active posts count shows people how active you are as a member of the forums. If you looks closely, you will find a badge on the bottom of your avatar. That's determined by your post count. Click the badge for more information.

Why do we have this active post thingy? Because some people find it fun to know that a member is active or not, and also to get some small badges under your avatar for every 500 posts you make. Don't get too obsessed with it though. This post count or badges doesn't make any senior-junior system, and everyone who thinks it does gives me the sad.

Note that any post made in the Cloudsdale Colosseum and the Roleplay World isn't count as an active post, because... yeah, everything in those sections are likely spams or discussions which don't contribute anything (example: "How much 'dum' can you type in a minute?").
