Amour flushed in embarrassment and curled her lip in irritation at Draco. Well he didn't have to say that out loud! She thought to herself. When the exit came into view, Violet sped up quickly leaving her behind. There goes my attempt at making friends. She blew her bangs back and exited the maze, heading over to sit by the stage.

 

"Thanks for the help." She grumbled over her shoulder at the two stallions who were arguing about egos or heroes or something like that.

Vesper decided to keep talking to Amour. "Hi pink pony. You're pretty. What name? Want be Vesper friend?" he asked, smiling at her innocently. He landed beside her on the stage. He folded his wings tight against his back and smiled, showing his fanged teeth.

Violet shook her head and waved a hoof. "Don't fret. I just get a little dramatic around things that involve relationships." She said, sitting down next to Amour. *Because what kind of pony would fall in love with a freak like me?* She thought,
She sighed and thought that maybe talking about something different would be a little better. "So...a wedding cake with scales, huh? Have you ever tried making a cake look like fur? I read a book about baking and it said how to do it...it looks really time consuming." She said, looking up from a shiny stone on the ground to see Vesper. She smiled at him.

"I'M the one with an ego? I wanted to rescue the mare because a voice called for help...I didn't know what she looked liked! And I nearly got eaten in the process! You chased after her to one-up me! I don't know why you seem to disapprove of everything I do, but listen here; you may have a great life, but I don't. I barely have any friends, am pretty much poor, so I make up for it by helping others to feel like I'm actually worth something, not to compete or to win a mare. So maybe next time you should think before you speak."

 

He turned around, and shot one last glance at Draco. "Now I'm going to find the mare you abandoned because you had to solve a problem I already had covered."

 

With that, he sprinted back to the bench where he first found Remmy and tried to find her. "REMMY! REMMY, ARE YOU HERE?"

Remmy heard a voice that sounded vaguely familiar. After she had gotten ditched by both stallions she had decided to take a walk. Not in the maze of course, as she was aware of how dangerous it could be. She turned around and began walking towards the direction of the voice. She found where she had been deserted and saw Slide there. "Oh. Hey Slide."

Amour smiled happy that Violet wasn't mad at her. "I actually have made a wedding cake with fur, it was for these two veterinarians, they wanted a cake that looked like a bunny, which thought was pretty odd, since they were going to eat it and their profession--

 

She stopped when Vesper landed beside her. "Oh, hi there." She beamed at him when he called her pretty. "My name's Amour and sure, we can be friends."

"One up you seriously? sheesh you definitely have an ego. You got to be kidding me," Draco said to himself. He rolled his eyes as he walked to the stage. "Hmm the mood is alittle tense might as well calm it down with afew songs. Maybe a love songm" He thought to himself as he got onto the stage.

Hop wairly examined the vine as it picked at fruit from the tree and presented it to her. Seeing that the plant had no intentions on killing her she took a bite of the fruit. The fruit actually tasted kind of sweet. Hop turned to face slide as an exit appeared and followed. There a large group of ponies, two of which sent chills down her spine. A bat and snake pony. Hop stayed back to avoid having to talk with the two.

She deserves better friends...maybe I can take her over to see Amour and Vi...

 

"Hey Remmy...while I was in the maze, I met someponies, and I want you to meet them. Want to come?"

Dusk didn't say anything, he just nodded in silence and continued looking around. He couldn't help but let his eyes linger back towards the lake however, just in case he could see something,...

 

Eventually, he turned away and began following the hostess. Noticing the flower on her head, he narrowed his eyes curiously and gave it a look over, but didn't overly react or pay much attention to it. He was used to flowers staring at him by now, and he wasn't surprised that this mare had another magical one on her ear. At least, he assumed it was magical in some way.  

Eve didn't notice the misbehaviour of the Star Rose. Indeed, the crystal flower was intimately linked with her own mind, not that anypony else knew that, nor that Eve realized that it was doing anything out of hte ordinary.

 

Anywho...

 

They arrived outside the maze, and Eve turned and said to Dusk, "Well, everypony was here a minute ago."

Remmy nodded. "Sure! But from what I can recall... I think Draco left first. Yea he went to go see Violet cuz she was sad. Oh wait do you know Violet? I guees if you didn't then you wouldn't know what I was talking about. Hehe." She smiled at Slide. He seemed a little upset over something, but she decided not to bring it up.

"I... Um..." Eve paused, looking suddenly uncomfortable. "I don't actually know everypony. Well, I know Vesper and Violet and Remmy, but I think pretty much everypony else was invited by Ragtag, whether they realize it or not." She gave a look that clearly stated her doubt that Rag and Tag could pick sane party guests. However, she said, "I'm just glad everything's gone smoothly." Her voice, which had been strong for a moment earlier, shook a bit, but she seemed to pull herself together a moment later. The Star Rose had closed its petals with the darkening of her mood, and remained closed.

Draco tapped the mike and said "Hello every pony may I have you're attention, because I'm your entertainer for the night. I'm Ol Silver Eyes. This first song goes out to that lovely mare whom my friend Draco O'Malley still as that wildfire for," he said speaking as if he wasn't Draco. Right now he was Silver Eyes the show pony. He began to sing and dance slightly.

"Oh, I uh...i'm sorry" he started "I didn't mean to...say...something...out of place." Truth be told he had said he was sorry before he actually thought about why he was apologising, but he couldn't go back on it in the middle of a sentence. "So...I take it this...Rag and Tag aren't exactly...great character judges?"

"Dusk...just stop. Go back and talk to Minty. At least you had some idea what to say to that one."

"Yay!" He hugged her out of the blue, though luckily, he did not lick her. "I love friends! Thanks Amour!" He hugged a bit too long, but then let her go. He then turned to the naga with a smile. "Violet be friend too?" he asked hopefully. "More friends good!" he cheered, fluttering his wings a little.

Eve shrugged. "No, it's fine. Rag and Tag... They're a lot more outgoing than I am. I guess that they're actually better at character than me." She looked around wistfully. "It's just... I'm concerned about the garden. It's never been this excited before, and frankly-" Her voice dropped off as her ears perked again, but this time it was obvious what she was hearing. She was hearing o'Malley singing.

 

Her expression was unreadable as she turned without a word and trotted towards the stage. However, the crystalline rose behind her ear had puffed up, and the thorns seemed incredibly pronounced.

Eve's expression was unreadable as she approached Draco. "That's because you weren't on the schedule," she said in a honeyed tone.

 

"I mean, I thought I made it perfectly clear you weren't going to be singing tonight." Her tone and demeanor were pleasant enough, but she couldn't have been more clear that Draco had pushed her buttons a little too hard. A trickle of blood ran down the side of her face - the crystal rose behind her ear seemed more thorn than flower now. 

 

(If you're smart, Draco, I'd read the danger signs.)

Violet nodded and smiled. "Of course we can be friends...just don't lick me anymore please..." She said, scratching the back of her head as she heard Draco start singing.
She glanced up at the stage and listened for a minute until she noticed Eve's reaction...she looked angry...Eve was never angry.
Violet gulped and did her best not to listen in on Eve's and Draco's conversation...which was difficult anyway.

 "Yay!" Suddenly, Vesper heard Eve and saw that she was angry. He ignorantly flew over beside her.

 

"Hi! Eve mad? Why mad? Pony hurt?" he asked, looking over at Draco suspiciously. He looked between the two ponies. "Vesper help?" he asked, looking to Eve. His fangs were visible in his big toothy grin.

 

(this is the most fun character to roleplay as ever)

"Uh oh...time to bail" he mumbled to himself seeing the two converse, as well as another pony coming from seemingly nowhere. 

He looked up at the moon, hoping it would be a full one with no clouds so he could simply disappear - no such luck. He'd just have to try and slip away casually, hopefully not bumping into other ponies on the way back to the lake.

Hop had made her way out of the maze, the sound of Draco singing catching her ear. She didn't pay too much attention to it but was more interested in actually talking to him. On her way looking for the stage she had accidentally bumped into some pony. (Agent505, sorry on my phone and cant mention) "whoops, sorry about that." Hop apologized.

"No. Draco. You don't get it." Eve's eyes were cold. "We're not talking about it at all. The air between us cannot be cleared. And guess who's fault that is?" She laughed. "Why don't you get it? We're done. Why'd you even show up tonight, then? You can't be that desperate."

 

 

A trickle of blood ran into her eye. She blinked it away, but other wise ignored it. "No, Ves, you're fine," she said, slightly dismissively, still glaring at Draco. Then she blinked again. She'd had an idea. She looked over at Vesper and said in a perfectly calm voice, "You know, Ves, this pony's kinda lonely. I think he needs a new friend. And I'll be busy tonight, so I can't be his friend. Would you be the best friend Draco never had?"

Dusk had been looking around to his sides for anypony who would be walking around, and evidently had totally forgotten to actually look in front of himself as he and the mare collided. Being rather tall, and a stallion, he didn't move too much at the impact but instead he instinctively reached out to grab the mare should she have fell - however it seems she was perfectly fine too. "Oh, it's no matter" be smiled, discretely looking her up and down momentarily. "I uh, i'd give it a minute if I were you, before you go down there. It...doesn't look too fun, at the moment."
