What's the worst way to die in your opinion? And how would you rather die.

While there are tons of horrendous ways you can imagine to die like slow suffocation and extreme torture I think one of the worst ways to die is something that's far less physical, but far stronger in mental pain.

 

What kind of dying am I referring to? Well, it's dying with regrets.

 

Imagine living an unfullfilling life, having the same routine every day and not even liking it. At the very moment you grow old and live your last few days you start to remember many things that have gone wrong as well as plenty of good memories, but those won't make your regrets hurt any less. The regrets you have at that moment, the things you could've done but didn't and the things that went wrong become so much more worse than any physical pain. I've seen plenty of old folks within my family bawl their eyes out because they didn't live the life they truly wanted. Veterans of war regretting not spending more time with their kids and wife, people who lived a life that they didn't want to live and others who had a complete unfair life. Imagine all those bad experiences and memories crashing down on you. Even now, while we're still so young we have regrets and bad memories that hurt, just think about how people at the end of their lives feel when they still have regrets.

Ugh, such a dark question, but so many interesting answers, so i'll attempt to have my input (:

 

I think we all agreed on, a form of slow torture would be physically painful, but with something like this, mixed with a emotional pain could equal a greater pain.

 

If there were family members/pets involved, seeing anything happen would most defiantly mentally corrupt myself as well as emotional, it's a terrible thought but in relation to the topic at hand, a Physical torture + a Emotional torture would equal something unbearable :/

Dying alone in any way shape or form is probably the worst way to die. I can't imagine the fear and anguish of facing your death alone.

Actually, getting shot in the head isn't guaranteed to kill you; the portion of your brain responsible for life is actually really small, and if you miss that... well you're still PROBABLY going to die, but it's possible to survive and just have massive brain damage making the rest of your life incredibly miserable while people watch you 24/7 to make sure that life continues. I would much prefer having a giant mech step on my head while I'm asleep (or anything else equivalently awesome doing something that would guarantee completely instant death. Maybe aliens could destroy the entire world to make way for a hyperspace expressway, then I wouldn't have to worry about anybody being saddened by it.)

 

The WORST way to die would be one of those really slow degenerative diseases with no cure, like Parkinson's. First there would be pain, and then you'd lose everything you've ever loved doing. After that you'd live for a few more years in constant pain and completely immobile, but still conscious, before eventually everything just dies.

Slower and more painful deaths are the ones I would fear. 

I wouldn't fear falling to my death or being shot as much as I would fear torture, especially if it involves sharp objects.

 

Honestly, drowning isn't all that scary compared to dying due to sharp object torture.

Death by burning or electricity might be scary, especially if it takes a long time for me to die to it.

Most of you people probably don't even know how mind-shattering and hellish torture is. Seriously. Every second of relief would be like a godsend.

Imagine being tortured over the course of several hours. Your fingers slowly being bent until they snap, or being pulled apart until all the bones break. Or having broken glass being shoved in your eye. Just constant pain, for hours, wishing it would just end, until you eventually die from blood loss. ;~;

Also, contrary to what people are saying here, I would actually probably like death by drowning. xD Granted 'tis a fetish, but still lol.

But other than torture... I'd say death from being crushed. ((Can't think of much else ATM. xD)) Sure it may be quick, but having to experience your whole body being crushed like that has to be shocking. :S

Drowning, suffocation, being thrown feet first into a wood chipper, or being burned alive.  Skinned alive also may be in there.  I think the best way to die is in your sleep.

For me it's drowning.  I can't even swim so large bodies of water really scare me to death.  I just don't like the idea of sinking to the bottom of an ocean and not being able to breath.  People always tell me to learn how to swim so I won't drown.  But NO!  I like it on the land where drowning is less of an option of dying.  Not unless someone water-logs me drowns me with a glass of water.

I believe that being burned alive would one of the most painful and horrific ways to die. Watching yourself melt away... horrible.

• Suicide
• Burned alive
• Drowning
• Being stuck bellow a few seeds of bamboo on the ground
• Being killed like Rasputin was

Drowning while I am scuba diving and I slowly sink to the bottom of the ocean. I rather be KIA than drown. I hope that I don't die from a shark attack while I am scuba diving because that would put the other divers at risk.

Hmm..I thought long and hard about this and decided that the worst way to die would be just dying some boring way like by natural causes.

 

I'd rather die by being caught in a slipspace jump.

Any "worst way" you think of can be topped with enough creativity and sadism. I have vast amounts of both.

 

I would prefer to bleed to death. I've often had a sleeping appendage with the feeling slowly creeping back in...Like a liquid cold beneath the skin. Strangely pleasant. I imagine bleeding out is a similar sensation, plus the pain of the wound.
