Unbeknown to Skycoaster, he was actually talking to an empty bush. Starshine was already a good distance away from the group when the stallion addressed him. Now the colt was galloping out from the park and into the streets. "There should be some ponies who would be interested in these medals...  And where the hay is the gold one?" he mused.

In matter of minutes Starshine reached a rather peculiar jewelry store. The windows are heavily fortified, and the stallion behind the table was practically wearing a full body armor. Starshine raised an eyebrow. As far as he could see, there was nothing fancy around the district. Either the stallion was a huge paranoid or there were something he missed. With confident steps Starshine entered the store and spoke, "Hello, how much would you be willing to pay for two silver medallions? Oh, and I also got this gold hoof bracelet."

Pondah was quick to reply to Skycoaster's question. "Neither Bubble or I are from Baltimare," Pondah told the pegasus, "So, unless Bubble knows the reason for this places small weather team, we have no idea. But about this meal, I have no money so how can I repay you for buying food for me?"

Bass immediately regretted admitting what he did, but was glad the unicorn hadn't quite heard him.

"Huh? Whisper- uh no? Anyway, um... yeah It's a big range of things that can bring inspiration, heh."

The tan unicorn flipped a another switch with a small wave of magic, and a machine started up, his main synth, to be exact. Upon tweaking a few settings to get the proper sound he needed, he began to key out a gentle melody that he had floating around his head, and slowly began to fall back into his routine for standard production... all in front of the laid out stallion behind him. Truthfully, he could've totally forgotten he was being watched if the room wasn't still illuminated by the romantic candles.

"Oh, okay, sugar cube. You have fun, I'm gonna go take a quick nap and then look for a job again." Kaz walked out of the front room quickly, wine glass still in hoof and then he slumped against the door frame of the bedroom. "Damn it." He said under his breath. He trotted on dozily and placed the glass on the nightstand as he threw himself on top of the white duvet.

"What am I even doing?" He thought to himself. Kaz buried his snow white face into his pillow and began to sob, hoping Bass would not hear him. He slammed the door shut with his magic and continued to flood the white pillows with his tears.

@@Skycoaster,

@,

What? Pondah thought that she might know about the weather team? Why would she know? She wasn't a weather pony...

Still, as always she was always happy to try and help.

"Maybe the weather team is mostly unicorns and earth ponies?" She suggested. "If you only count pegasus ponies then you might be missing some!"

When Kaz spoke, Bass broke from his trance and turned as the stallion got up and left the room.

"Oh uh, okay." He mumbled as the stallion closed the door to the room.

Then he turned back to his equipment. "What was that, Bass? He wanted to spend time with you, and you just... that was horrible. You should go apologize... but this song.."

The tan stallion then contemplated what he should do, and in the end, made what was probably the wrong decision.

"Everything should be fine. Just finish this piece, and then when Kaz wakes up we can spend the rest of the day together... looking for a studio, and getting him a new job. Yeah that should do."

"Don't worry about it,"the pegasus smiled. "Like I said before, the weather factory gave me a tab at the hotel to keep me from complaining about this trip. Up till I met everypony, this trip stunk."

Skycoaster looked to Thunder Dash, looking at his stomach.

"I'm ready if everypony else is."

"Well then, I'll see you over there." Thunder Dash said as he built up energy and disappeared. He then reappeared right in front of the Grand Mareland Hotel. "Whoa! This place is awesome! Skycoaster's stomach began to rumble himself.

"Um...if everypony is ready, I'd say now is a good time to eat. It shouldn't be too far away...If I remember correctly."

"Maybe the weather team is mostly unicorns and earth ponies?" She suggested. "If you only count pegasus ponies then you might be missing some!"
"I can see unicorn's using magic to assist, but how would earth ponies bust clouds, or even move them?" he said scratching his head with a hoof.

The 4-4-0 locomotive puffed along the mainline, still pulling the mail load with all the power it possessed; unbeknownst to the driver of said train danger lay ahead.  Ahead was a broken wooden bridge, which stood tall over a deep valley where if any train were to plunge down; it would surely mean disaster.  The bridge had a serious case called 'broken supports'; a case in where one of the three wooden supports have split in two and left the bridge with half its regular support, work-ponies were currently attempting to mend the broken support beam but to no avail thus far.  No less then a mile away from the bridge was Rut-Light and his train filled to the brim with mail and he was headed straight for the site, it wasn't until he looked out the window and noticed a work-pony waving a red flag that he quickly managed to set the regulator to 0%, turn the Reverser so it was at neutral and jam on the brakes; suddenly the air for miles around was filled with the ear splitting noise of the train brakes going to work and forcing the wheels to press against the rails as sparks flew out from under the wheels, and it would not become quiet until the machine had come to a halt.

"Come on, come on..."  To his relief it didn't take the train very long to stop a few feet from the bridge, Rut-Light poked his head out of the cab and spoke tot he pony with the flag in hoof.  "What's the trouble?  Is the bridge about to collapse?"  He was genuinely concerned about this manner for he needed to be back at Baltimare with the mail in 6 minutes, the other pony looked at him and nodded, he spoke with a thick British accent as he said "One of the bridge supports have shattered and it only at half stability, how much does your load weigh?"  Rut-Light thought for a second before replying, "It about 387 pounds worth of mail that i'm hauling, why do you want to know?"  Now it was the workers turn to think about the options, and their were only two; both fairly crazy, after another second or two he finally answered, "Alright you have two options: Option one is to slowly move along the bridge and hope it doesn't end up collapsing under the weight of the train.  Option two is to look for another way around if there is one.  Your choice."

"I'm such an idiot. God, why am I even crying like this. I bet he thinks I'm pathetic. Calm down, calm, down." Kaz's mind was racing with so many thoughts of all different moods. His brain shouted at him whilst he tried to slumber but all he could do was toss and turn.

"Bassy! Hurry up and finish! I need cuddles." Kaz shouted as he lay on his back and his voiced bounced down the hall way into the warmly lit room, accented by the LED's of Bass' equipment.

@,

The stallion heard his partner call him from down the hall. He decided that he'd made enough progress for the day anyway, and wasn't gonna get much further without the vocal slices either way. So after a moment of fiddling around with his synthesizer, he shut his equipment off, and realized how much of mess he'd caused... again. "I'm definitely getting a personal studio, whether Kaz says I need to or not."

He stood up, and tried his best to clean up magically, though it was a feeble attempt.

Once he was relatively satisfied with his job, he turned and headed down the hallway. The unicorn made a rather impresive entrance, jumping into the room while nearly shouting, "And the renowned DJ BASS CLEF, Mares and Gentlecolts!" Then subsequently roaring out for the imaginary crowd, as he turned with a grin to the stallion in the bed. "Did you miss me, hon?" He added playfully as he walked over to the bed to lay next to the stallion.

"Well, I was thnking..." he began, placing his hooves on the chest of the stallion underneath him. "We could search around for a place for me to rent for my studio... and..." then the tan pony moved his hooves down the side of the stallion, toward his flanks. "We could get your lazy flank a job."

He giggled a bit at his statement, and leaned into the pony, kissing him on the muzzle.

"How's that sound?" The DJ whispered into the unicorn's ear.

Pondah's brow furrowed as he tried to remember if he saw the Grand Mareland Hotel on his small adventure earlier. He frowned slightly as his mind could pull up nothing. He turned to Bubble and broke the news. "I'm sorry Bubble," Pondah apologised. "I have no idea where the 'Grand Mareland' is. Can you forgive me?"

"Careful there, cowpony!" Kaz said through a huge smile as the larger stallion placed his hooves on top of Kaz's cutie marks.

Kaz's heart was beating incredibly fast as the darker stallion caressed him and his voice came out as a mutter, "You could get those hooves off of my flank if you're gonna call me lazy." Kaz said jokingly but with stern eyes. Bass responded with a surprising kiss which made them both giggle.

"That sounds lovely. I don't know where we'll look though, there's just nothing out there in my fields of expertise." He said disheartened.

Bass pondered the response for a moment before asking, "Well, if we can't find anything you've trained to do... why don't we find you something you like to do?!" The stallion asked with quite a bit of enthusiasm for his idea. "I mean, heck, if I just did what I was trained to do, I'd still be in Canterlot handling Neuro patients... but I dropped out of Med school because I hated it." Rolling his eyes to the other side of the room, the pony then added, "My parents sure weren't happy about that, and basically cut me off.... I was on my own to make money, and for a while, I just played my bass in the park for some cash, but I finally saved up enough for my first mixer and got to work learning to make electronic music."

He let a release of air out as he finished his monologue, and after a moment of recovering his breath, he asked. "So what'dya say, hm? I'm sure we can find something your cutie little flank likes to do. Other than me of course.." The unicorn grinned slyly at his dirty statement, and waited for a response.

Disappointed, Bubbles ears drooped slightly. She cheered herself up by thinking about the fireworks she was going to see later.

"Thats fine Ponder" She said. "I don't know where it is either. Maybe I'll just go cook something myself? Theres a kitchen in the hotel and I don't want to miss the fireworks after all." The mare explained, squinting up at the sky to try and get a feel for the time.

"I should wear a watch..." She mused absentmindedly.

Pondah's frown grew sadder as a wave of depression overcame Bubble. Pondah stood for a moment and tried to think of what he could do to make this situation easier. As an idea formed in Pondah's head, a slight grin formed on his face. 'She seems to be up for anything fun. That's just what I need to make this situation.'

He continued to wait, hoping they didn't get lost or anything, or he would teleport to their location. He was standing right by the entrance to the Grand Mareland Hotel.

Switching between Bubble and Symphony makes my head hurt :P

At Pondah's words Bubble forgot to be disappointed: she hadn't expected him of all ponies to suggest such a thing.

"Sure!" She said, bouncing in the air - neglecting the fact that she would doubtlessly get hopelessly lost in the process of such a race in a still-strange city, and running in a random direction.

Pondah smiled as Bubble's classic cheery nature returned. He turned to Skycoaster and offered the challenge to him. "Are you in?" he asked. Without waiting for an answer, Pondah returned to Bubble and began to countdown loudly and quickly. "5... 4... 3..." Pondah said. He suddenly sped up the counting. "2,1,0 GO!"

Pondah galloped away as fast as he could which, in comparison to other ponies, wasn't particularly fast. 'I need to get as high up as I can. Then I'll have a large chunk of the city in sight.'

Galloping into the city, Bubble started taking left and right turns seemingly at random: winding herself gradually closer towards the center of the city but also gradually getting more and hopelessly lost. She didn't mind: she spent most of her lost in this city anyway!

"Oh! Look at those flowers!" She skidded to a halt with a delighted grin to examine the flora.

If ponies were betting on them, the odds on Bubble wining would have been pretty low.

Thunder Dash made his watch appear on his wrist. He was waiting for about 15 minutes now. He was getting hungrier. He made his watch disappear and continued to wait. "Maybe they got lost..." He thought to himself. "Besides, Baltimare, is a big city." He added to his thoughts.

Even though he'd only been moving at his top speed for a few moments, Pondah was already an out of breath, sweaty lump. His speed had taken a huge slash as he climbed a large hill. 'The Grand Mareland sounds fairly fancy. My best bet is to look in the centre of the area or in the upper class end. I should be able to tell which part of town is the posh part from the top of this hill.'

After much huffing and puffing, Pondah eventually crested the hill and was rewarded with a perfect view of the city of Baltimare. His knowledge of houses helped him determine what parts of the city were. 'Those houses are the oldest so that means the centre of town is right in front of me. Going out from the centre gives us newer and newer houses. The area to the east seems to be in a better state of repair and have much more open space near houses. I guess I should head to the centre and move east.'

Concerned with saving as much energy as possible, Pondah decided to take a very efficient and childish way of descending the hill. He took a minute run-up and jumped, making sure to land on his side. With his legs tucked in and after a perfect landing, Pondah was laughing and whooping with glee as he tumbled down the hill.

'Beat this, Bubble.'

Bubble didn't really know how she had stumbled through one of the fountains in the city center... by all accounts she was enjoying herself too much to notice: though she was no closer to her destination as far as she was aware...

"I wonder if I can see a sign or a map or something? Maybe from up that tree?"

The tree offered little in direction towards her destination but she could see some more gardens that looked interesting - maybe they were near it?
