It's an unfortunate necessity when moving anything to a stage production; otherwise, no one would be able to follow the action. As a result, the voices sound uninspired and bland compared to the faster pace of the show. It's aimed at a general audience which probably came to the show thinking of MLP: FiM as a purely kiddie affair. Nobody is trying particularly hard, and I doubt they recruited the writers of the show in order to put on this skit. Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te. Theres some very strong G3 vibes with this live show. Its like they took bits of infromation of G4, the concept/ideas of G3 and mashed them all together into...this. Its very clear that the people involved have probably only seen the first 2 episodes if any. Could be worse at least they are not G3, complete with what appears to be a rapping Spike.
