Jing Zi nodded and took the papers with him out into the hall, just in case she was expecting some pony else. He began to fill out the papers, leaving only one or two blank as he couldn't fill out what he didn't know. He re-entered and handed her the papers, as well as the quill that he had borrowed. "Thank you." He said quietly.

Mystical Flow smiled at him, taking the papers and tapping them against the desks to line them up neatly.  "You're welcome, Jing Zi," she said, using his name as a sign of trust almost, as she did with everypony.  It made many ponies feel more comfortable.  "Now you can go right ahead and get started or get breakfast in the mess hall, or settle anything that needs to be settled.  And if you need anything, you can come see me."

Sorrow continued slowly chewing down her toast, before looking everywhere around the mess hall. She could already feel as though ponies were watching her... So, what she did was she hid right under the table closest to the corner, and not even bothering to eat her toast anymore...

Lionheart scoped the room an noticed something odd a filly suddenly hid under the table as if for no reason and that alone was enough to make him curious. Leaving his toast and milk he walked to her position, leaned and looked under the table.

 

"Why? I am truly curious. Why ?" He asked her, his voice betraying his confusion.

Immediately once a new pony had trotted over to where she was and asked why she under a table, Sorrow squeaked. She tried to go as far as she could away from him, but only reached the back of the wall... Her last option was to just turn around, and have her back facing him, with her in some form of a ball.

Jing Zi smiled and gave a second haste 'Thank you' before following the mare's directions and heading to his room. The room was medium sized with its own bathroom, and the janitorial closet was connected to it. There was a small bed and a plain dresser situated against the wall. He pushed the dresser off to the side as he really had nothing to put in the storage place.

He used his magic to grab a push broom and headed off to the mess hall, after glancing at the map of the building that was posted on the wall in his room.

As he entered the mess hall he went straight to the area that was furthest from the tables and nearest to the exit, just in case he needed to leave quickly.

Gears trotted into the mess hall, quickly getting some food and going to sit at a in the middle of the room. He immediately began digging into his food, not caring if he looked like a complete slob or not.

Shade sat againsed the brick wall... She had nothing to do and nothing to say... But what she did do was studie the ponies, she watched the way they acted.

Then one of the fillies ended up beside her and turned her back away... Shade blinked, she thought that this filly was a shy type... That would probably explane a lot... But even so... She questioned it. "?"

"Wow wow wow Relax I am not some kind of scary monster hehe" He said after witnessing her reaction. *Boy she sure is shy* He thought to himself  as he ducked and entered the world below the table.

 

 

He walked toward her and touched her back. "So what's you Name ? Mine is Lionel Heart."

Immediately when Sorrow's back was touched, she jumped up in shock. Except that was the bad thing to do when under a table, so she hit her head on the table... And whimpered a little. But then, she ran, nearly hitting the other pony near her, whom she hadn't even seen next to her, and ran back to the bedroom.

((Sorrow isn't the only shy one there, you know. And I'd really like somepony for Sunset to interact with. It's boring just giving little updates on what she's doing.))

Sweet Symphony ate some of her toast. It was burnt and didn't taste very good. It made her feel more homesick. She missed having decent food with her family. Still, she was ging to e here now, so she could only suck it up and keep eating. She turned to Chamois.

"What do you think of the food here?" she asked.

Chamois Vine paused in the middle of taking a bite of her toast.  "Well..." she said, moving the toast back to stare at it.  "Er...its...I suppose its better than nothing," she said.

She was completely serious when she said 'nothing'.

Gears finished devouring his food and began to scan the mess hall for any new potential friends. There weren't many colts that came to the orphanage, so usually his friends were all mares. He tended to keep away from the ones who were cutesy and 'adoptable' material, because he would just be depressed when they got adopted and he was left behind.

 

He zeroed in on a filly sitting by herself near the exit and trotted off towards her.

"Hey there," He said, smiling wide.

((she's actually a filly. Mares are adults, fillies are children. Sunset is about 5 or 6 oin this RP. Either way, thanks for interacting.))

Sunset looked up from her toast suddenly as she heard somepony's voice directed at her. She saw a colt staring directly at her with a grin on his face and hid behind her mane.

"H-h-hi..." she squeaked, shrinking into the corner.

Sweet nodded. "Yeah. Also, I guess if you're hungry enough, you'll eat it..."

She continued to munch on her blackened toast.

Chamois nodded and continued eating her toast, not really one to try and make small talk or start a conversation.  She preferred to sit quietly and not make any friends or meet any ponies she would be sad to see go if they had to.  She learned it was better that way.

Shade blinked... She didn't know what to think... She looked at herself to make sure she was her cute Pegasus self and not a changeling... She was in her Pegasus forum so she dismissed the though that she did something to scare her off. Shade got off the floor and walked out of the mess hall to see if there was anything to do.

Sweet Symphony looked around the mess hall. The filly that had arrived with her was cowering in the corner from a Pegasus colt.(@DarligPegasi)

None of my business, she thought. Besides, that's probably just her being shy. She was the same way in the lobby.

Gears leaned back, pouting a bit, but didn't retreat. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you or anything. What's your name?" He asked, turning his grin into what he hope was a goofy face. "I'm Gears." He said introducing himself. He refrained from asking any questions, because really? What do you say to a new orphan? Why are you here? Looking forward to meeting potential parents? All of those had harsh consequences.

Sunset continued to hide behind her mane, still anxious. He had leaned back a bit, but was still close enough to see her scars. 

"S-S-Sunset Sky..." she murmured in reply. She scuttled farther into the corner and brought her tail to her side, trying to hide her blank flank and the red slits that marred her thin body.

Gears wanted to ask about the marks on her body but decided against it. He knew from experience that bringing up someponies' past whether it was an accident or not, was never a good idea.

So instead he turned his attention elsewhere. "So you're a pegasus, huh? I am too! Well I mean you probably noticed already..."He trailed off. "You probably know how to fly!" He exclaimed spreading his wings and widening his eyes in anticipation. He didn't quite care if she saw the artificial parts of his wings, as that would probably come up in conversation anyway. Plus he had always thought, the metal lining had made him look cool.

Sunset looked at the pony in front of her from behind her mane. He was a Pegasus. His sudden excitement made her squeak and hide even further behind her mane.

"N-n-no... I-I don't know how to f-fly..." she admitted quietly, looking down at the frayed feathers on her flightless, scarred wings.

Once Sorrow had gotten back to their sleeping room, she ran all the way to her bed which was in the back, and curled up under the blanket, burying her head within the pillow, and just continued to whimper. Her head was hurting a lot from hitting the table, and she just didn't want to cry in pain...

Mystical Flow finished making all her calls for now.  In a few hours, she would get a call back and she'd know how to deal with little Shade.  But for now, her friend had suggested she go get breakfast before she called her back up.  They were friends.  Mystical had to call over there often, obviously.

Mystical went downstairs and into the mess hall.  She glanced around as she entered.  She noticed Gears talking to another little pegasus that she'd never seen before.  A new arrival perhaps.

Mystical Flow walked over.  "Hello!" she smiled.

Another pony? Sunset was anxious enough with just one. She was starting to feel crowded. At the mare's arrival, the little filly pretty much hid her entire face and tried to cover up more of her scars.

"H-hi..."her tiny voice was barely a whisper.

 

Mint Remedy and Leaf Heart stepped out of the office.

"Thank you."

"Not a problem. May I say goodbye to Sweet Symphony and Sunset Sky?"

"Of course. They're probably just eating."

"Alright, it should be fine if I quickly say goodbye to them, right?"

"Sure, just follow me."

The two mares trotted through the hallway and arrived in the mess hall. Mint pointed to Sweet Symphony and they trotted over.

"Hello, Symphony, I just wanted to say goodbye."

 

 

 

((Oh, just for future reference, Sunset is 5, Sweet is 8, and I guess Mint would be 21.))

Mystical smiled at them both.  She placed her hoof gently on the new fillies back.  "Don't worry, sweetie.  There is no need to be shy around me," she said softly.

She looked up at Gears.  "Would you two like anything nicer from the kitchen?  I'm sure I could run in and grab something better than burnt toast." she suggested, her usual routine of getting the foals something nice from the kitchen.

Chamois lowered her head as the two mares spoke to Sweet Symphony, feeling slightly awkward.  Though now she knew that this filly was new here.

Lionheart walked out from under the table and went to follow the filly but then he heard it. The person in charge was down and she offered to bring something nicer to eat. "YES YES MOST DEFENITLY YES." He shouted in excitement. After this long journey he need something good to eat.

 

"Chocolate I need something made from it. You ought to have some right ? Right ?" He asked his voice less shouty but still as excited.
