I recently heard a study, from a university in some state in the US.

 

An American football TV broadcast goes for about 4 hours. In those 4 hours, we actually see only 11 minutes of gameplay, the rest is filled with commericials, camera shots of the players, audiences and coaches who pick their noses.

 

I wouldn't doubt it because the clock sometimes runs when they're not actually doing anything
