I just tried that. All I could get was a hissing noise though.

You have to barely twist it. Then you give it a hard push with your thumb. I hold the bottle with my left and twist the cap off with my right. That's how I always do it. Also certain bottles don't work as well. The object is for the threads to let go of the cap as quickly as possible.
