By the way, the bows on horse tails have a meaning. They are color-coded.

Blue indicates the horse is a stallion. Most of the time at equestrian events, only adults are allowed to handle them because intact males are more prone to aggressive behavior.

Green indicates that the horse is young or inexperienced. These horses may be more easily spooked or overall jittery. They are more unpredictable so they require extra care.

Pink (I know that's purple but there is no pink in the color selection) indicates a mare that is in season. She can easily be distracted by a stallion and she will definitely be a distraction to stallions.

White indicates a horse that is for sale. Prospective buyers like this because they can see a horse in action before they make a decision whether or not to buy the horse.

And finally

Red indicates the horse is a kicker. Equestrians are encouraged to provide a lot of extra working room with these horses to prevent injury.

Applejack's red tail ribbon would indicate she kicks, which makes a lot of sense given that she kicks trees for a living. :3

Huh. For me, it's like that person who doesn't know how to swim splashing about in the water.
