Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.

Computers are marvelous things. They have become just so instrumental to our daily lives that most of us can't imagine our lives without them. They're everywhere - in your car, your watch, your television, your stove and washing machine....The microprocessor has given us some of the greatest inventions of all time like the cell phone.

They're getting better and better and there are people who fear that computers will one day have self-awareness and free will. I doubt there ever will be a technological singularity for one reason. While computers are definitely getting smarter to the point that I'm sure we have self-sustaining computers (which recharge their own batteries and things like that), they do only what they're instructed to do. They run on three basic commands: Fetch, Decode, and Execute. Literally everything a computer does is based on two numbers: 0 and 1. On and Off. Open and Closed. A binary digit; a bit. At its very basic foundation, a computer is a stupid thing. The brain in even the dumbest of animals will eventually do something. A computer can never get bored. It is never provoked to action until it is told to do something. It will sit idle perpetually until you either tell it to do something or it loses power. Really, the only thing a computer does is math.

A lot of math.

And this is why I don't believe the technological singularity can ever occur. A computer is brilliant. And brilliantly stupid.

I refuse to let go until you're impressed.
I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.
