what's wrong with your current CPU? it doesn't seem to be all that much worse than a I5 to me!

well, i'll be very dissapointed if it can't. seeing as my current core I3 laptop can run it already. (very laggy tough, but still )

what's wrong with your current CPU? it doesn't seem to be all that much worse than a I5 to me!

FX architecture is awful compared to Haswell. I may try to OC it to get as much out of it as I can and keep the Intel mounting h/w for the cooler but if I can't pair it with an R9 290 and get desirable results, I'm going for Intel CPUs.

 

AMD needs better flagship architecture though. A 5 GHz 9590 is NOT necessarily better than a 3.5 GHz i7.

The good part of FX is that you can always overclock. AMD makes extremely overclockable CPUs
