The only thing I can remember when I first came here were numbers. And rocks. That's it. :maud:

 


You need to plug anything that is wired to it (even coax and ethernet cables that aren't protected) into your surge protector :3:

 

Hrmm, I didn't know that. :wacko:

Though, our internet gear is plugged in to a surge protector as well, so not sure if getting a surge protector for my ethernet is still necessary. :huh:

I've heard stories of people losing their equipment in a lightning storm where something happened and the surge went through the coax and fried the motherboard. So I've got my coax for my internet running through the surge protector. But not the actual ethernet cables because I don't have any ethernet plugged directly into the wall. But the coax that carries my internet is plugged directly into the wall.

 

I guess I've always lived with the idea that you can't be too safe.

Oh okay. I don't have any coaxial stuff plugged in, let alone them being from the wall, and the wireless AP that I have my ethernet connected to is plugged in to a surge protector anyway, so I think I am fine. :yay:
