Uhm, I don't really follow it TBH. (I should probably do, tho. D: ) But, well, from what I can tell, it's there, I suppose. Of course, it's nothing compared to the number of sappy (s)hits and Crap 40 that is infiltrating our airwaves. But, it's there, making music. Just wish people would be more appreciative of other genres.
 
Here's a pretty good one from here. Not sure if it's really metal, could be more hard rock/grunge than anything, idk, but it rocks nonetheless. c: God, I should discover more stuff from here.

I would like to tell you if it is metal or more grunge (what also has metal influences), but thanks GEMA I can't. 

 

Here in germany, we have a big metal scene, but in Radio or television, you hear/see really rarely metal. Mostly rock, pop or Hip hop.

A while ago (early 90's) there was a bastardised dance version of Ace Of Spades used in an advert for Pot Noodles.

This saw re-release of the original.

And meant that Motörhead appeared on our BBC "Top of the Pops" chart program.

 

The poor teeny boppers didn't know what had hit them when confronted with Lemmyou and Co
