Do you have any Paranormal/scary/creepy stories?

I have a few stories to share.

So when I was about 9, I was sitting in my living room playing Madden NFL 09 for no reason. I had all the lights off in the room and the only lights were coming from the TV. Keep in mind that my first story window is still about seven feet off the ground. For no particular reason I felt like looking to the window, so I looked over. In the bottom right corner of the window was a pale white pace with black pits for eyes and a mouth. I was so shocked and terrified that I couldn't move and I couldn't scream for about 5 seconds. My eyes were just locked onto it. Once I could actually move, I cried and ran to my dad who was in the kitchen, who took me up into my parent's room and let me talk to my mom.

Next story.

This still occurs today, and it still scares the living shit out of me.

So in my house, I always get this really terrifying and dark feeling when I walk down my hallways or up staircases, and I always look back. About once or twice a month when I look back, there's dark apparition of a tall man standing at the bottom of the stairs or at the end of the hallway, and I always get this really dark and drained feeling when I see him. So I basically will run up to wherever I was going, and just let myself calm for a little bit.

However, that's only the most common place I see him. I see him in other places as well. Sometimes I will be in my room, and I can see him either in my bathroom or I can hear tapping coming from the hallways. I would video it or see if I could take a picture, but I always either run away or pretend it's not there. The only other person that this happens to in my house is my sister, and it doesn't happen to her nearly as often. Based on research I've done, the drained feeling is when a dark spirit takes energy from you and uses it to manifest itself.

I really am not sure what this thing is in my house, but it still does this, and it scares me pretty bad. The worst thing is the dark and dreary feeling I get when it's around, or when I see it.

Well I myself haven't had any experiences, but my mom did have a heck of a doozy.

She said she was sitting in bed cause she couldn't sleep, and she had moved our Dirt DEVIL vaccum into her bathroom because she wanted to vaccum in the morning. We didn't have anywhere else to put it. So she says she was lying awake and then a dark hooded figure hunched over started walking out of the bathroom. The door had been open, so it walked out slowly, and slowly it looked up at her and she said its eyes were RED. She screamed and prayed and then it just went away. We took the vaccum out of the bathroom the next day and left it in the living room. I'm not sure if what happened was connected to that darn thing's brand name but we left the vaccum with my cousins after we moved. :)

I've noticed a couple cases of floating light spheres here. Those aren't fully unexplained. Rarely, for some reason (yet to be discovered) massive amounts of static electricity somehow gather in a stable, floating, glowing and sometimes moving ball. Do not touch it if you ever encounter one, as it is MANY times more powerful than lightning. Any contact with it will most likely be fatal.

Further clarification: I think the spheres are rare because anything this supercharged will want to unload itself on anything within range (miles). For some reason however, these spheres manage to completely isolate themselves from burst- and ranged discharge, and only slowly discharge through light and touching objects. So, even though it is more powerful than lightning, it will not blow up trees (or yourself). It floats through any physical object, slowly discharging as it touches it. If you were to come in contact with it, the current would not be enough to leave physical marks, but it would probably destroy your nervous system. There would be no way to tell if someone was victim of this, since it leaves no physical traces whatsoever.

  • 3 weeks later...

K, so I'm up right now at 4AM. About 20 minutes ago I woke up to the sound of one of those old tape cassette player buttons clicking into the on position. There's one sitting on the headboard of my bed. I kind of woke up to that sound, but not really, then it clicked loudly off, which woke me up completely. I kept hearing a thumping sound underneath me, and I'm currently really freaked the fuck out cause I didn't touch the thing myself.

This happened to my now 26 year old sister:

They lived in a house where before there was a fire and a kid died, and one night she woke up and saw a injured girl standing right in front of her bed. Not even kidding.

This happened on Halloween night out of all nights.  I was asleep and I just randomly wake up at 4 in the morning, and it feels like there's someone just starring at me.  I was actually too scared to look so I just kept my back to where the feeling was coming from, and it really did not feel friendly.  Now I think I know what the Ghost Adventures crew feels when they talk about negative energies.

My story is a family tragedy, I've had 2 other cases like it that I wont' mention because they are all realtively the same.

Years ago my uncle passed away, was qutie a sad death, (alchohal/drug overdose, passed out and choked to death). He and my aunt and his mother were living right next door to my grandparents at the time, he died at their home. He was a frequent visitor and would stay at my Nana and Papa's place all the time with my aunt, he was one of those that said its where everyone could meet up and relax.

About a week after his funeral, me and my mom, and some of my family came down to visit my nana and grandpa to keep them company since my aunt was in a bad way still. I had just hopped out of the shower, threw on my clothes and left the bathroom door open to let others know I was just blow drying my hair. My uncle was a very shy man, rather then say hi to people when he passes by a door he kinda quickly hustles passed, to which every time he did that I would always go "Hi Uncle Carol!" and scare him lol! But anyway...

As i was blow drying my hair...at the corner of my eye I saw him... my uncle, walking passed the bathroom door. Naturally I popped out quickly and said "Hi Uncle Carol!" ...but he wasn't there...and to my sudden shock it clicked with me... he's not alive anymore...A part of me felt stupid for forgetting that obviousness...but i swore I saw him...heard him scurry past my door, hunched over like he usually did when trying to avoid contact. So after drying my hair and shaking off that weird...I just assumed a twirl of my eyes and mind, I went into the kitchen where mom was making coffee. I was still a little weirded out by what I thought I saw and told her about it.

To my shock....she said she had the same occurrence not more then a minute after my experience. She said that she saw Uncle Carol in the kitchen and the scurry out into the dining room, trying to avoid conversation like he usually did... We both blinked in awe and wonder and agreed not really to share this with anyone thinking no one would believe us anyway and that it be our little experience. We believe he was just hanging around till it was time for the big man to call him up. We've not had an experience since then.

I lived in an old farm house for a number of years, and I had something very strange happen.

My dad and I were watching a movie on TV, and the dog was sitting with us. No one else was home at the time either. Suddenly, we heard a loud thumping and a crash at the bottom of the stairwell on the other side of the wall from our TV room. It sounded like someone took a bad fall down the stairs and landed at the bottom. We both heard it, and it even made pictures on the wall rattle.

When we checked, nothing had fallen, nothing was out of place. It was very strange.

Later on, a previous owner of the house came by and told us about the old man who lived there. He used to check up on the old guy every week to make sure he was still doing alright. One week, he opened the door and yelled in like he usually did, but got no answer, so instead of going in, he checked around the property, not finding him. He figured he probably went to town or something. Turns out, the old man was laying behind the door at the foot of the stairs, he'd died of a heart attack and fallen down the stairs. They didn't find him till the next week, and all his livestock died in the barn after a week of not being cared for.

Well, this happened a few nights ago.

I couldn't sleep because i had a bad fever, so i decided to play on my ipod, after a while, i heard tapping on my window, but when i looked up, nothing was there, so i went back to playing on my ipod. But then, i heard a voice saying my name, but when i turned the light on nothing or no one was there. I decided to try and get some sleep. But then, after about an hour of sleep, my computer turned on, and started to play music. I went into my brothers room and slept there.

Ever since then i have always fallen asleep in bed, weather i want to or not

Well, I live in a house with a perverted ghost who likes to watch me shower, he likes messing with the lights and doors.... has pushed people... I was reading something about ghosts and all of a sudden the temp around me plummeted and I started shivering, in a 72 F house!    I don't like this house.   I miss my parents house where the ghosts watched over us, not hurt us.  I miss Tim & Bob (the one in Potosi, not here at this house)   They watch over the horses & comfort us, let us know they are there but never trying to hurt us, push us, mess with us....   You can feel Tim's presence when something is wrong... I know it's Tim b/c I remember how he was when he was living, before cancer stole him from us.

I want to move so badly, Cuba City Bob makes me so jittery.

When I was younger, the ghost cat spoke to my sister and I, we both remember the incident clearly.   Had 1 eye, looked to be a large tabby.

The downstairs of the large barn at my parents hosts the spirit or ghost of an animal that died tragically and horrifically.   It has kind of a dark energy down there but nothing ever comes of it...  just very bad vibes when you go to that corner... I think his spirit never left.

  • 1 month later...

I've already posted some stuff that has happened a while ago in this thread or some other thread, not sure, but something happened last night.

I was laying in bed, it was about.. 1am I think? Anyway I was watching youtube on my phone and decided it was about time to go to sleep, so I closed my eyes and after a few seconds I felt a tap on my back, I quickly looked up and couldn't see anything around me so I assumed it was my mind playing tricks on me, then I closed my eyes again and felt a huge punch on my back, this made me jump, very badly, this time I didn't think it was my brain since I actually felt physically hurt for a few seconds, this creeped me out and I instantly assumed paranormal since this isn't the first scary experience I've had.

I'm not sure it's like any spooky ghosts or anything like that, likely its just my brain being a dick, but with me being the pussy I am, I instantly assume something more :/

Okay, I've had a few things, though I'm not sure if you'd consider them paranormal.

My mom says when I was just a baby I used to point at the corner of the ceiling and just laugh and smile insistently at something that wasn't there. She thought it might have been a great grandfather or someone who had recently passed.

First was not too long after my grandmother had passed away of cancer. I lived at another house, and my headboard of my bed had cubby holes--I'd always keep my eyeliner and such in them.

Well, one morning, I couldn't find my eyeliner. I had a very small bedroom with wooden floors...not hard to find stuff. I checked under the fitted sheet, springs, everything. Nothing. Came home later that day and it was just chilling right in the middle of the floor underneath my bed...clearly wasn't there before. Little things like this would happen all the time.

Possible demonic/negative force: I was once talking to a friend online who said they were dealing with a dark force in their home. At the time I was a bit skeptic so I said how ah, probably imagining things. They said it had a very sulfuric/rotten egg smell. I thought nothing of it. Well, later that day, I began to smell the same smell. I checked my trash can, checked outside my room, checked to make sure window was closed, checked outside window--everything. It went away, so I thought I was just silly. Next morning, I'm in my bathroom getting ready. Smell it AGAIN. And I felt like a dread feeling. Went away. Go out to the bus stop, in the open air mind you with no sewer etc. Smell it a THIRD time. I'm not religious by any means, but I'm telling you when I got to school I researched so much and even had my religious friends pray. It was gone when I got back, but it's still something I remember to this day.

I speak with my friend on skype who apparently has ghosts or whatever in his home. There would be times when we'd be talking and the tapestry behind him is making a very odd "wave" motion, almost like something is behind it moving across in one spot. I'd say over and over, it's moving, it's moving! But when he'd look behind him, he said he saw nothing. There was no air drafts or anything either. Creeped me out big time.

At the old house and here I'd have a touch lamp that I know I would turn off at night and would wake up and it's on the lowest setting...the cats weren't hitting it and the dog never went in my room. Weird.

My dog will sometimes be sitting in my room and he'll just suddenly stare at my doorway, and his eyes/head will follow "something" all the way across the upper wall until about me, then he just stares. He doesn't whimper or anything, but it freaks me out, as they are no mice or anything in our walls!

The creepiest thing so far that I can't explain is maybe a few weeks ago I woke up around 3 or 4AM out of a dead sleep and I felt terrified. Like, I felt like there was something in front of me (laying on my side), but I couldn't see anything, hear anything, it was just this "feeling." I couldn't speak, I could move so I know it wasn't sleep paralysis, but something obviously woke me up and my heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest it was so scary and surreal.

I want to say I think I remember this happened once at college too after my grandma died, but I woke up suddenly with more of a warming presence, not the terrifying one I just described.

Oh, and once in a while I have strange dreams that contain either of my deceased grandmothers in them. Like, a few days ago, I still remember because it was soo weird, that Theresa Caputo (Long Island Medium) was in my dream and was talking about my grandmother and things only I/gram would know. And even though my grandmother didn't appear in my dream, it was obvious her presence was in the dream, if that makes sense. Idk, just weird stuff, man.

My mom and sister have experiences all the time (they live in SC), my sister even thinks she has a friendly ghost that follows her. Maybe it's "in the family," haha!

My sister worked at an office that was known to have a haunted boy in it. She forgot her key card once and was trying to find it when the door opened for her. She'd feel him when she worked, and knew he liked Elvis. She'd be vacuuming in the office and the plug would be pulled out when there was still plenty left; the radio would come on and it would be Elvis songs every time.

My mom was at work and said she woke up one night to see a man in a late 1800s/early 1900s attire, top hat and all staring at her; when she blinked a few times, however, he was gone! She found out a man in that time period had hanged himself up in the bathroom.

This one is VERY creepy, in my opinion: My niece had a grandmother on her dad's side who was brutally murdered, but she had no idea at the tender age of 4, nor had anyone else as they were sleeping. My niece and my sister recall her coming up to sister and telling her that "Grandma said she's going to be ok." My sister asked her what she meant. She said--again at the age of 4--"Mommy, she's bleeding all over and she said that she's not in pain anymore." Found out the next morning that her grandmother had been beaten to death by a robber with a bat. Gives me shivers just typing about it!

So, I'm not sure if you'd consider these paranormal or just cooky, haha, but please feel free to comment!

I have two.

The first is actually a story my dad told me. He used to hang out at his friends house which was deep into the woods, far away from anyone else. He claims that one late afternoon his friend's dog ran out into the woods, then shortly after returned barking and yelping loudly with strange claw/bite marks on its side. They started to investigate into the woods when they heard an incredibly loud screeching yelp. They moved forward for a few more minutes. Soon after they saw an enormous, dark haired creature standing upright walking through the brush and stepping over a fallen tree. He estimates that the creature was at least 8 feet tall, maybe 9. Terrified, they ran away back into the house. To this day he has no idea what it was and has never seen anything like it since.

The second occurred one night at around 2 AM a couple years ago. I was sleeping and woke up in the middle of the night. I peered out the window I was sleeping next to and noticed a strange, blue and green light in the distance. It slowly moved to the left and right before flying off at an insane speed.

My old high school that I went to was apparently haunted by a young girl who was pushed off of the bell tower and killed when it was a boarding school. At the time that I was attending, I didn't know whether I truly believed, although the paranormal has always interested me. Anyway, it was one afternoon and oddly really quiet on the computer tech corridor and I was walking to lunch on my own. To get to the lunch area, you had to walk through big heavy wooden doors that had to be pushed and only stayed open if they caught on the magnetic thingy-ma-bobs to hold them open and then you go down a short series of stairs and turn left. Well I heard footsteps behind me and I thought someone was going to pass me but nobody did, so I pushed open one of the big wooden doors and let go to let it swing shut.. but it didn't close or swing back behind me like it normally did. It stayed wide open as if someone was stood holding it.

Since I heard footsteps behind me when I was walking down the corridor and I didn't hear it shut and I didn't hear it click on the magnetic holder thing, I turned around and looked at it from being stood at the top of the stairs. Nobody was even there to be holding it open like it was, nor was it anywhere near the magnetic thingy. As soon as I started to turn away to go down the steps wondering what had just happened and shaking my head at it, the doors slowly closed on there own. The whole time, I felt as if I was being watched. After that, I never went the say way to lunch, at least not alone. The bell tower is also in that area of the school just up another flight of stairs from where I was stood which makes it even more creepy. I still cannot to this day explain why the door did that. None of them had ever done it before and none of them did it after either. Weird..

Never seen a ghost, but I've encountered one once. This happened last year at college. It was during break time during my philosophy class that a friend and I took a trip the the bathroom on the top floor of the building (there's 4 floors, the classroom we were in was on the 2nd). The building is the Old Main, and was the original part of the college from 1865. When we walked in, I cracked a joke about how spacey the bathroom was. The bathroom was L-shaped, with a thin hallway that goes for about 7 feet before you get into a 10x10 foot space occupied by 2 thin stalls, 2 urinals, 2 sinks, 2 paper towel racks, and 5 hook for coats. We go, my friends finished before me (b/c of me wasting time with the joke), washed his hands and left. I finished, flushed, and then decided to look around a little. I went over to the window, looked out for a couple seconds, turned around, glanced into the bathroom stall (just because I'm nosy like that :P), then I walked over to wash my hands in the sink. While I was rinsing my hands, a roll of paper towels flew past my face and bounced off the mirror. I quickly looked up, while simultaneously turning off the tap, and looking in the mirror I saw no one. I ran to the door, looked back while opening the door, still seeing nothing, and walked quickly back to the classroom trying not to look like a wimp who just got chased out of a bathroom by something he couldn't explain.

well my story is quite recent and is still going on. So I moved into this house back last summer and anywho, there was the name of some guy who died in the house written on the wall. me having anxiety they blocked it off with wood. nothing happened until early 2013. I remember the person who showed us the house said "just make sure your cat doesn't get into the cooler room. the other cat got trapped under some wood or something I cant remember" anywho I remember going down my hallway around 2 in the morning to get some poptarts (yeah I eat poptarts in the middle of night) anywho I remember looking at the corner of my eye and saw a cat like shape, I started calling my cat's name usually my cat would come running up but this cat disappeared anywho I went into my living room to see where my cat went and nothing. I literaly remember me dropping my half eaten poptart and running. MY POPTART XD anywho then my mom said she saw this so called "ghost cat" then my sister then my dad. I remember siiting in my room and felt something jump on my bed I thought it was my Chihuahua but I turned around, FLIPPING NOTHING/ then everything stopped. but lately I have been seeing something more. humans and more animals. I thought I saw a wolf like animal across the street (the woods are across my street) I told my mom and she said im loosing it cuz she couldn't see it. then I think I have been seeing the man. right now im sweating in fear XD

Although I have never had such an experience before. My grandmother once told me a long time ago. When her mother passed away she went through a very rough time with letting go of her. She had said she would constantly have dreams seeing her and remembering past memories before with her. She also said in all those dreams not once did her mother look her in the face no matter how hard she tried to get her attention. I believe she said one day she was cooking she turn around and saw her mother stand right before her giving a comforting smile. She said the moment she closed her eyes and opened them her mother was gone. She also mention after that occurrence she never had those dreams about her mother not noticing her in her dreams.

I thought that was a very touching subject she told me about a long time ago. Another one was my great grandfather. My other grandmother on my mom's side of the family told be about a experience she once had. She had said that my great grandfather was in the hospital very sick at this time. One night she woke up from the middle of her sleep and she said she saw a figure of my great grandfather rattling some change on his coat when she saw the figure. After that i believe they had rushed over to the hospital in which he was staying at. Low and behold by great grandfather was close to his point of death and it was there were he said his last goodbye to her.

So while those are not creepy there are certainly touching in my eyes.

Reading some of the stuff that happened to you all is scary!  I hope I do not experience some of the things I have read on here.

Long ago, my parents and I used to live in a enormous home.
We lived their for quite some time and all was well until something weird happen upon living their. I woke up early in the night, very hungry, I went downstairs to get to the kitchen. I stopped midway when I saw a women's shadow, moving around,I was confused who it was, since my mom was away. I continued going downstairs to see who was their, upon reaching near the shadow,I saw no one,no person was creating the shadow.Frightened, I ran back upstairs to my room, locked the door and tried to stay awake all night. The next occurrence was when I was in the living room, bored out my of mind, I ran across the place, back and forth. I ran for a while, while that happened, I saw a person instead of a shadow, from what I remembered, she had a white dress. I stopped and looked back to see better, but she was gone. The last incident was at night, I saw someone go into my sister's room,I followed it to see if it was my sister. What I saw was a shadow, like from the first incident.I left the room, upon leaving, I heard crying coming from the room and ran for my life.

Here's a story.

A little while back I was walking through the woods, there was no one around and my phone was dead. I kept on walking when out of the corner of my eye I spotted him. He was following me, about 30 feet back, I started to run but he got down on all fours and broke into a sprint, I could tell he was gaining on me! I frantically began retracing my steps to find my car, but I was all turned around by the monotony of the forest. He was almost upon me by then and I could clearly see there was blood on his face, in fact, there was blood everywhere!
