Le Kvlt Dawn 2,368 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 (edited) In case you haven't heard there's been a new species of carnivore mammals discovered called olinguitos. It's been described to look like a mix between a teddy bear and a house cat. I kinda wish I could keep one as a pet. :/ And here's the lecture they made about it in the Smithsonian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3OJQokU_Xw Edited August 17, 2013 by Sakurako Ohmuro
Scootalove 10,692 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 I would totally keep that as a pet, as long as it doesn't try to eat me. That is definitely a very cute new species, but not so cute when we find out what their prey is. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Moog the Kvlt 1,460 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 Well they're quite the cuties that's for sure, but I think I'd rather wait until they start to become domesticated before buying one as a pet (duh). Anyways, it's pretty cool that we've found out a new species.....and that's all that I can really say about this new species.
Smarts 1,626 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 a mix between a teddy bear and a house cat. That actually sounds kinda cute. I still would never own one as a pet even if they were domesticated because this little guy would probably kick my butt multiple times a day. Can't have any animal one upping me. IF is best girl. Rainboom Dash 1,057 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 They look really cute, but I'm not sure if I'd want one as a pet. Still happy to see new species are being found nowadays though and hopefully they'll soon be in the animal books.

Ah hell nah, I wouldn't let that thing anywhere near my face D: I like my body in its proper, non-maimed state, thank you. SCS 7,538 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 I learned about olinguitos in a current events discussion in my US History class yesterday. It's always awesome when we discover a new animal - it's another reminder of how much there is out there, even on our own planet, that we have not discovered yet. Plus, they are very cute. I don't know if I'd want to have one as a pet, though. Appearances can be deceiving - it may be a dangerous animal.
Mutemutt 773 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Came for the kawaii, was not disappointed. I don't think I'd want to have one hanging around as a pet though. Anyway, this is the first I've heard of olinguitos but the discovery of a new species is a bit exciting, isn't it? I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more info on the oliguitos in the coming months/years.
