Ever Had a Ingrown Toenail?

After i read what u said i actually have this problem, if i cut them too much and/or in a wrong its becomes a disaster, and hurts like hell

Theres 2 ways to fix this! Tell your docker to cut it in a V Or tell him/her to take the nail off, so it could re-grow into a new one making it normal! Sorry this is happing to you

Speak of the devil! I have one right now! Two actually. One of each big toe. Apparently you can have ingrown toenails from cutting the sides too short (according to my doctor), because then the way they grow they break the skin and cause infections. I have to take these really nasty pills 4 times a day for about 6 more days because of this. They're the antibiotic ones, with the red Swedish made plastic cap on the outside of it. When I open my bill bottle...let's just say the smell isn't the most pleasant.

 

Anyways, mine isn't too bad. The doctor said just to let it grow out a little bit and cut it straighter, and less rounded. He said I'd only have to have the nails removed worst case scenario. Damn you, ingrown toe nails! You've caused me a decent amount of annoyance!

 

Edit: I might also add that my ingrown toe nails are very, very minor. Not at all like the horrific cases I've seen in google images. I just have a slight infection, and it hurts a little. It's not bad at all, thank celestia!

I've never had one and I'm hoping I never will. It just sounds so...icky. I hear it hurts pretty bad . But for some reason my nails don't really grow so I probably won't get one any time soon.

I once lost one of my toe nails and the nail that was growing back became in-grown.  Luckily, I went to the doctor's office before it became anything too severe.

I was still a kid at the time, my mum took me to the Dreamcruise.  It's an event for classic cars and the like.  Some over-weight man stepped on my foot.  I ended up losing my big toe nail because of it, so yeah.

I never knew the word Ingrown toenail/ingrown fingernail since today! Well the fingernail but, not the toenail one. *Sigh* I learned when i got in pain..

My brother had one a while ago, he said it hurt quite a bit. they took his out of course.

 

I personally dunno if i could take it. I'm so wimpy when it comes to pain.

I really don't want to have to go under the knife at any point of my life (unless it's for immortality) and I am not exactly that good with pain. The one time I broke my pinkie toe was bad enough, I was limping around college in my slippers for a week. I couldn't imagine what... this... would feel like.

Yeah, i also haven't gone through a ton of physical pain yet, so i'm not terrible tolerant of it thus.

 

Saying hi to a new student wouldn't bother me nearly as much .

Oh, owww. Why they didn't numb your leg puzzles me, that must've been pretty freaking painful.

 

I'm sure theres more painful things out there, like removing kidney stones, or giving birth(Something as a guy i won't experience which is mostlikely good.) but i'm sure that must've hurt still.

Yeah they got a huge pair of scissors and almost cut my nail in half.. That was the most painful part, and was when i said Ah F***! Did not feel good..

Yeah i can imagine it probably hurt, i mean thats basically like cutting a nerve in a sense, i'm pretty sure your nails have nerves in them closer to the back or something.

 

But yeah.

 

Hopefully they numb me if i have to get one, or else i probably will be running away .

Unfortunately, yep, on both big toes, since forever!

But weirdly, it doesn'y hurt, it's not infected, it has never hurted or been infected. The skin round it somehow dried and became more resistant.

 

I've seen terrible things on google image and I hope it doesn't happen to me.

I have one ingrown toenail and have not taken it out yet. I'm getting ready for it soon though. I know it will be painful, but I'm hoping to just do it quickly and get it over with. It's like getting a needle. It may not be too pleasant at first, but it will be over before you know it.

had one and the onfection got so bad it was oozing all the time and I had to have surgery on my toe. The infected tissue and a bit of the toenail had to be removed, it isn#t really visible by now
