Whimsy Pie - A Pinkie Pie Party Tribute!

Hey people!

 

The other day I made a cheerful little electronic tune on Fruity Loops! After playing around with it some more, I felt it captured the happy 'essence' of Pinkie Pie, so I dug up some samples and plopped them into the sequence (much to the glee of my Meesey brony friend), turning it into a tribute to Pinkie!

 

Here are the results!

 

 

I'm kinda new at the whole music development thing, so I welcome any constructive criticism!

Nice essence of Pinkie there.  You wight have wanted to make the tempo a bit more upbeat, as party music usually is.  Other than that though you did pretty well for being new to the "whole music development thing"

 

Can't say I like the speech from the show inserts, but maybe thats just my opinion.  I know some people who really like that type of thing.

 

Also, you might want to try adjusting the volumes of your samples differently for each instrument.  Having the lower tones at lower volumes and higher tones at slightly higher ones.  Remember the pyramid of sound!

It was tricky finding clean voice samples, and I know what you mean about some people not being too keen on them. I felt the ones I picked were fitting, considering who the song became a tribute to.

 

I wasn't 100% happy with the volumes either, though I think that was because I kept going back and fiddling with the synths I was using and just playing by (amateur) ear. Pyramid of sound, eh? New concept to me! In all honesty, I never did get into the theory side of music, but I shall remember this from now on!
