This year I'm making another Halloween game(way better then the last one).
I need some feedback to see if i'm heading in the right direction.

NEVER EVER WILL I DO SOME REALLY CHEAP JUMP SCARES,Those aren't Horror at all,you could do the same with a picture of a cute cat and putting loud sounds!

I am basing my game on atmosphere(thats why I use Amnesia music).

Why all these changes?

Why does the full name include Cmm97Productions?

Because, I don't want people to confuse my game with other people game's.

 

 

 

the game is stuck in a infinite loading screen...

 

Some pages contain Widgets that are pretty heavy,so it might take some time to load,or sometimes the loading will fail if your internet or Computer isn't strong enough,normally refreshing the page should fix the problem,some pages on the DEBUG MENU don't have an exit button,so you need to go back with the browser .

 

When is the Full game going to be Finish?

The FULL game should be finish Before Halloween 2013 I'll update this thread when theres an OPEN update available.

The Game's Development has Stopped[Except for the MODS]

When I say the DEMO was short....I meant EXTREMELY SHORT!but don't worry because you have a lot more stuff in the option menus,Also don't forget to find the EASTER EGG!

When I said Feedback I meant how it looks and if the mechanic looks interesting.

 

For the THINGIE page:

as for feedback, i think the scenery looks nice. tough in the first pic there is a bundle of light coming down from (presumably) the sun. and in the second pic it's night. so maybe change that.

game mechanics feel pretty good. i like that the only indication that you are pointing at a clue is the change in mouse cursor. so no pop up or drop down menus if you didn't click it yet. this makes searching for clues more challenging.

yes Indeed theres seems to be a Sunlight,I thought I could explain this with a lazy plot-device...it's a street lamp....yeah?

I don't want to change a lot the first scene but it's a rather big problem I might change that right now...Thanks for pointing that out,

Thats completely normal because I have limitations on the game since I am making this game on a engine that is suppose to make Flash websites..I need to improvise a little so I make it so when your cursor goes over the arrow it doesn't do anything but if the cursor moves outside of the arrow the scenery changes I based it on people reaction when they see the ARROW,They automaticly click it an when it disappears the cursor is no longer on the arrow so it changes the scenery...

Also do you like that new part I made?I'm going to change it back though so take a nice look it will be a future area

Sorry for low ress I am working on OLD-Stock images,I had a hard time finding them...so yeah.

The game is pretty good. Extremely short, as you have mentioned, but it has a nice creepy tone and an awesome soundtrack that must have been inspired by Aalborg. Is that where you got it?

Oh ok I get what you mean!Those big squares are infact a Photo effect,thats why when you get the clue there's an Image of it,I'll try to make the sound work later.

 

Well when I'll finish the game there will be an intro page for the game telling you what you are doing in the forest(will tell you the Plot).

Haven't actually tested the game, but seeing how it is a Halloween game I just wanted to share a bit of advice on the horror part you may or may not be putting into this:
 

Try your best to avoid screamers and jump scares, and instead try to build fear through atmosphere. It's much scarier to know something is stalking you and not knowing where it is than randomly getting your ears blown out. Also that is a thing, you can do jump scares if you have built up to it, but avoid screamer-levels of volume jumps and random pop ups. Blowing out someone's headphones is not scary, it's just painful and potentially dangerous to people with a heart condition. For a good way to do a jump scare, see Bioshock: create a atmosphere of un-safety, and have the enemy sneak up on you while you do other things, but not have it pop out of thin air and not under any circumstances have it scream or pop up so abrupt and loud it makes it feel cheap and cruel. For a good example of atmosphere to create fear, see the first 3-4 Silent Hill games.

Thanks for the advice,I wasn't going for cheap jump scares and bad atmosphere anyways.

I have some experience on the Horror genre .
