The term "hardcore gamer" is asinine in a way. It's just a way for snobby gamers to look down on more casual players and feel superior/

So, in short: no. It's makes no less a gamer than enjoying stupid popcorn movies would make stupid.

I once played AC: Brothehood for 19 hours straight(and I started at 5:00 AM for a bonus) what does that make me in all this then? A demi-god among gamers XD.

Haha, no just above average ;)

There where times when I would wake up 2-3 times in the night to send attack on tribal wars and check on my villages :x! I regret doing it now though ><!

In my head your only a gamer if you play 5+ hours a day of games (at least).

It feels awkward for me now because I can't even play some of my all time favorite games, or even games I own but haven't played, for more than 30 minutes without getting bored, tired, or annoyed. The longest I have played a game recently is around 25 minutes...and that was for my second favorite video game, Alan Wake. e_e

Yeah, although not so exstreame I can't play games for longer the 2 hours max nowadays ><!

Maybe it's just growing and not liking or feeling like playing games is productive any more ><! I don;t know :P!

My advice is to beware of group labels and the need to subject yourself to public perception. They restrict you as an individual and inhibit your ability to enjoy the things you enjoy. Monikers of this type are usually foisted upon you by folks with no business in your life and are likely after your wallet. If you like something and it doesn't contribute to human suffering, DO IT!

In my eyes, a true gamer is someone who understands a great deal of mechanics in his gaming genre. A gamer is someone who always looks to improve himself in the games he dedicates himself to. Be it CoD, Europa Universalis or Grid.

A real gamer is someone who congratulates the enemy for being better, someone who's rational and helpful. Someone who even in the heat of the moment is still able to plan out his moves correctly. Becoming better and better in his field.

That being said, there are a lot of factors that frustrate everyone. Mainly bad teammates. Casuals shouldn't pick up a game and think it's as easy as baking fries, they should take an example from good people, follow their lead and listen to their advice. Mainly in arcade shooters is when bad players talk smack to the ones who would beat them over and over again. Those people aren't real gamers and aren't really worthy of the system they're playing on. Raging is one thing, but know the limit, especially when your ass is being handed to you.

That's what a real gamer is.

I would not declassify you as an gamer if you play Facebook flash. Just the same as how I actually like seeing some cod players move to Battlefield 3 (For some reason people don't like this)

Well technically a gamer is one who plays video games consistently.

Personally I never really got into Fb games, but if you want to play them go right ahead, whatever you enjoy!

It won't make you a non real gamer or some crap.

Frankly idk if it should matter whether others consider you a gamer, it's just a title to put yourself into a group, but I dunno why it matters.

So go ahead and play Fb games if that's what you want to, don't let people screw around with fake terms such as "real gamer" saying stuff like that to others makes you sound like you wrote the dictionary definition and you determine who is this and who isn't.

In other words people who say you won't be a real gamer are cocky jerks who think they're the best and everyone else should follow their lead and their lead only.

This also means forget about them and enjoy playing what you want.

Uh, yeah. Uh huh huh. A gamer is "one who plays games", just like a painter is "one who paints". There is no "real gamer", that's just something silly people say to feel better about themselves. There is only a gamer.

Now when I try Facebook games since 2009. I like it. smile.png

YOU DIRTY CASUAL, TAKE YOUR FILTH AND GTFO BEFORE WE ARE FORCED TO OWN YOU FOR GREAT JUSTICE. YOU SICKEN ME.

*ahem*

Anyways, you're still a gamer if you play Facebook games, though be prepared to hear the term 'casual' a lot. Depending on the group, this is either a term to define a subset of gamers, or an insult of the highest calibre.

This is my gaming chain of command

1. Pc

2. Xbox, Playstation

3. Wii

3. Handheld

4. Touch screen games (iPad / Android based games.)

4. Online (Flash / Social Networking game)
