Your Opinion on Ramen Noodles?

I grew up with the Maruchan instant noodles and other off-brand noodles, not great by any margin. Then one day I made Chashu ramen with fresh noodles, and lemme tell you, it was next level. 

These days I prefer udon noodles since they're thicker and chewier, but whenever I want to go for ramen, well... There's better and more sophisticated brands of instant ramen out there, Sun Ramen and Samyang for starters.

Noodles in general are absolutely amazing. Ramen especially! The taste, the scent, the texture... All of it. It's a 10/10 in my menu for sure.

The dehydrated version sold here is garbage. A bunch of carbohydrates with two pieces of shrimp. I'd rather order some actual chinese food. Real ramen. chop suey, chow mein.

Ramen is definitely one of the best foods ever!

I remember putting the noodles in the broth for a few seconds, long enough to get the flavor, and eating it lake that. I called it "hot raw". 

I do want to make some cheesy ramen. Here a recipe I found.

I've not been able to try proper ramen from a restaurant, only experience I have is store bought ramen and I've always had mixed feelings. There's so many flavors and ways to cook it that it is a daunting food, as simple as it is.  I need to try some recipes that @Millennium Shadow has in mind.

You referring to the Maruchan brand of ramen noodles (these)?

Packaged noodles? Pretty good, tastes really good with cheese and hot sauce. But, I can't really speak cause we won't really know how it tastes like if we don't visit japan!!

My brother has a humongous supply of them that you buy at the store. and it's very rare if I take some of it Because. I'm not much of a fan of that stuff.

The instant kind is okay, and mostly what I can get. Though I'd like to try some authentic ramen noodles from a Japanese restaurant at some point.
