First days as a Brony

RollingPony

Recommended Posts

I spent three weeknights watching all three seasons, and each epsisode from the 5th to the Season 3 finale going 'I can't believe I'm a brony.' Luckily, I met another closet brony at school really quickly. Otherwise, I might've given up the series entirely.

I felt extremely worried, someone would find out and my life would be down the drain, but I loved it nonetheless. :muffins:

I also felt randomly, much happier (and I'm a pretty happy person already) so it was fantastic

At first I watched YTPs and YTPMVs and I liked the characters so I watched some episodes. I felt weird about it until I saw how large the fandom was. I'm still a closet brony, though.

After the first 4 episodes i was hooked. I loved all the episodes but there are a few i disliked. Such as the one where discord changes them all for the worse. Seeing Fluttershy being that mean was just wrong.

Another forum mentioned the show so I found the intro on Youtube. I live in Scandinavia so I could find few Danish sites. The toy store where I lived had The Ticket Master that I was buying. Then the show made me happier than ny other show I had seen. Back in those days I found Fimfiction after searching fora place to write fics.

I felt a bit weird, and tickly in my stomach. I was a bit proud, but also a bit ashamed. I felt like I was doing the right things, but that it would have some concequenses.vStill get a chill down my spine everytime the theme song comes on, and someone can hear it. It does not fit the show.

He was like Dashy is the best I was like Fluttershy the best.

My first month was similar to yours. At first I was obsesses, I feel like I almost lived and breathed ponies for a little while. However I didn't get into the Brony community at first. I just watched the show, talked about it all the time with my sister (who thought it was weird but she is a good listener) and tried to keep it a secret from my classmates, coworkers and parents. It took me a while to finish the show because of school and work, but when it was finished I went through a period of depression. I just needed more. So that's when I ventured onto the internet, and slowly re-acquired an interest in my other hobbies after finding an outlet for my enjoyment of MLP.

I never considered myself a brony when I first started watching back in September last year, but I'm pretty sure I was like everyone else saying "what am I doing". When I actually declared myself a brony earlier this year, it was a weird feeling that can't be explained, sorta like when Pinkie saw a rainbow for the first time.

What were my first days as a Brony like? Gee, it was so long ago, I can hardly remember. huh.png  Anyway, a visitor who liked ponies before I did talked me into watching the MLP pilot parts 1 and 2. It was fun, had some action, and I found it a bit girly but not unbearably so. I was intrigued greatly by Rainbow Dash.

The weekend immediately after, The Mysterious Mare Do Well made its broadcast debut. It was such a joy to see my then favorite pony as the focus character. I soon got caught up in MLP episodes and other videos on Youtube. By the time I watched Sonic Rainboom I was hooked! wub.png

I never imagined at first what my casual exploration of MLP:FiM would lead to, but it is one decision I have never regretted.  :)

I don't remember very well, even if it was kind of recently, it feels like... I just happened to start liking the show, I think it somewhat had to do with that I found "Smile, Smile Smile" to be a very catchy and good song, so I decided to watch the show, and I loved it from the first moment. I probably watched a lot of episodes at once then... As we all did :-)

It was during the summer holidays in 2012, I knew about the show for a few months beforehand, but I didn't actually show an interest until then. I watched the first two before I went to bed. Next thing I knew it was 2:00 in the morning and I had watched the first 8 or so. I then proceeded to make a crappy PMV the next day because I was so excited about the show. I still feel it now, I just wish I had joined the fandom a long time before I did.
