Funny moments with foreign people

Hi Hi Puffy YumiMiko

Well, our new neighbors from Mexico moved in next door to us a week ago. When they met me, my mom and my dad, they both couldn't pronounce my name (Yumiko Yla-Mella) so we spent a good hour teaching them... and we failed.

And we have this ice cream truck driver who is from India. She likes to sing and dance while serving the kiddos ice cream.

Also, 85% of my neighborhood is Nordic (Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish) and they always dress up as the Smurfs every halloween and have fish cookouts.

Know any funny moments with foreign people?

So back in high school, I was a part of the marching band. The band would go on trips to amusement parks, I can't remember exactly when but it was times other than summer because the parks would be pretty empty... except for all the Asian tourists. Now, one of my bandmates was Korean, and you know that stereotype about all Asian looking the same. Well, a lot of us kept poking fun at him, exclaiming "Seung, your family!" and pointing at the nearest Asian group we could find. He took it in stride. img-1369822-1-UNZJLhS.png

Once, there was this ice cream man who was from New Zealand. Well a couple of Finnish people (like me) tried to order but they couldn't speak the english very well!

"Ehh, wha?"

"Ice cream?"

"Icy- kreee?"

"ICEEEEE...
           CREEEEEEAAAAMMMM...."

"Ahhh, no."

Oh, I once tried to persuade a group of Finnish girls that their life dosen't revolve on anime. They never listened to me. They still go out in public in their cosplay suits.

I was at work and a group of french people came in. Between the five of them they only knew a handful of English words. I kept chatting with them and making puns, acting friendly while enjoying their confusion. I'm a jerk sometimes...

Another time a Japanese person came in and I ended up chatting with them in Japanese. They seemed surprised, which I found funny, seeing as more and more white kids are learning.

i once met a homeless guy from denmark strolling around groningen. it was very cold back then and he was only wearing a sweater. i really couldn't see the poor guy shivverring while he asked random people for change. so i walked up to him, talked to him a little then took him into the city to buy him a coat. after he found one he liked i payed and we walked out again. after that i took him to a cafe and bought him some coffee. we sat there talking for a good while before i had to go again. the guy knew a remarkable amount of puns and other jokes. so i really had a good laugh with him. never seen the man since, i hope he's doing good nowadays.

well my friends and I were hanging out near my friend's house, and this ice cream truck driver (who was Indian) was driving around yelling "one fifty!" cause I guess that's how much the ice cream cost lol. It was just kinda funny how he was yelling "one fifty" while driving around haha.
