It's Christmas Time!

It's December! You know what that means? THAT'S RIGHT! *pause* ... Summer LOL

 

Nah I'm just kidding, but look ponies, who does NOT love christmas? Its a time of giving, of sharing, to put our anger and bad feelings aside and spread the joy of giving and laughter and loving your family and friends! As well as one of my favorite traditions, listening to Christmas music. If you got a Christmas song you wanna post, or share a story, post it here!

 

One of my favorite christmas songs is this, this was also a special christmas video I recorded, my rat Nes was born Christmas Eve and it was his first birthday. That year while doing research to help my rats to live longer healthy happy lives, I researched how badly domsticated pets and animals are treated, including rats at the most for me... That Christmas I learned a valuable lesson and would like to share it here. This was Christmas back in 2012:

It's funny because I'm not even Christian. But Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. I'm always looking for reasons to get gifts for people, and what better way than having a holiday for doing just that?!

 

I'm guilty of spending thousands and thousands of dollars throughout the year because I have so many people I love and something always manages to catch my eye throughout the year that's just perfect for any given person. (My closet gets very cramped)

 

Even giving toys to children in need or families that can't afford to celebrate the holidays. I just love it so much, nothing can match the smile on their faces.

 

This is probably one of my favorite Christmas Songs... the other one is by Denis Leary and it's really more of a guilty pleasure.

Christmas Story Time:

 

Once upon a time... a boy fell in love with a girl in a silly computer game. Boy met the girl who was an admin of a gaming clan and had NO idea she was a girl till the cat was let out of the bag. Boy tries to talk with girl in a java chat room one day when she says "If any guy tries to hit on me, i will cut off their head!". Boy stays far away from girl he likes but after a few weeks tries again later because Boy felt Girl was lonely and she was only saying that out of a broken heart. Boy weaves his way into Girl's heart and they become good friends. Boy pushes it further by asking Girl to be his girlfriend and she shyly agrees. Boy realizes he wants to be part of Girl's world one day and takes it to the next level, Boy flies all the way from Germany to USA to meet Girl in person and they fall in love at first sight. Where is the Christmas story fall into this? Hold on I'm getting to that.

 

Boy and Girl date each other online and through flying back and forth spending time with each other for short special 3 months each till finally, Boy asks Girl to marry him. She says YES! Boy and Girl make arrangements for him to fly and move to America. But their story was hit with loads of tragedgy because her Government made immigration not only expensive...but a long and complicated, tedious process... For two years Girl and Boy were seperated from each other... with only their voices through Skype Online conversations to let them know they still loved each other.

 

But one special day, their process finally was done... and they were finally reunited together and living happily ever after in the USA. This Christmas...will be their first Christmas that they spend together...as Husband and Wife after Dec. 14, 2013.

 

Who are is this "Boy" and "Girl" you wonder? They are Night Lights (Groom) and myself (Bride)... And my fiance is the BEST christmas present I will ever recieve for the rest of my life!

Well I am so sick of people saying that Christmas is about Christ, it isn't! If people would actually read the Bible, they will see so many discrepancies, they'll think twice about it, also I've noticed in a lot of nativity scenes, that one of the "Wise men" is black.. since when was one of them black? (I'm not racist but it says nothing in the Bible about any of them being black.) Also, as a Pagan/Wiccan I listen to this great band called Emerald Rose who did this really awesome song about Santa:

My ex wife had studied the Bible for 10 years and here are the disecrepancies she found:

 

- The wise men were Astrologers (which is a Pagan practice)

- The shepherds were out with their flocks at night, if it was winter time, then they would have been inside and their flocks in the barns

- The star that the wise men were lead by was NOT sent by God but was actually sent by Satan (more about it below)

- Jesus was 3 years old, when Caesar sent the decree that all boys that were 3 years old at the time will be put to death and a reward will be given to anyone who kills one (so the belief that Jesus was born on Christmas is a big bust)

- The "wise" men were on their way to find Jesus to report his whereabouts to Caesar, but half way there, God had appeared to them via a vision of an angel and told them not to report to Caesar, hence when they got to the manger, they decided to pay tribute to Jesus instead.

 

That is all I can remember, but they are pretty BIG discrepancies if you ask me,

 

Now, as a Wiccan I celebrate the Yule and also as a pony who loves History and research, I've done a lot of research on my own, and I have come across this and this is also a thing that a few people I know have told me.

 

For the two holidays that Christians celebrate believing that are about Jesus (Christmas and Easter), they couldn't be further from the truth.

 

The whole lie of them being about Jesus was started by the Catholic church, in the old days, they were losing members from their church, and so as to get them back and then some, the Catholic church adopted the Pagan festivals of Yule (the winter festival) and Beltane (the Spring festival of fertility), and adapted them to be about Jesus.

 

Now for a bit more:

 

- Yule as I mentioned earlier, is the Pagan/Wiccan festival of Winter (adnittadly I don't know much else about it yet but am learning)

- Beltane, is the Wiccan/Pagan festival of Spring and Fertility, and the Pagan symbol for fertility is in fact the hare, (hence the easter rabbit)

 

Sorry for the rant, but I hate lies and liars, and I'm sorry to any Catholics and Christian's who still believe that those two holidays are about Jesus, but as I said earlier, you couldn't be further from the truth, please, start thinking for yourselves and realize that you have been lied to and stop being blindly lead around.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year, mostly because I have a really huge family, so there's a lot of people to visit. Which makes the holidays even more awesome. It's fun to eat stuff, while drinking and talking with the family. Ad also, snow, no school, dark most of the time. It's just epic!

Oh I think you may have misunderstood me, I wasn't calling anyone here liars, I was calling the Catholic and Christian churches liars for leading people to believe the lies. The Catholic Clergy and the pastors of the Christian faith should have had to study the Bible and go through training, so if they had done that, then they should know the truth about it. But in case, My family NEVER celebrated the holiday religiously, we saw it as a time to spend time together as a family, while I do like getting gifts, I preferred to just spend time with my family (also whenever my family went to Sydney to visit my grandparents, my mum's dad would always buy Hawks River prawns, and they are delicious!) For the last 3 or 4 years, when I was with my ex-wife, I never got to celebrate Christmas because of her religion.

 

EDIT: Also, I didn't mean for my previous post to come across as complaining, just stating the facts and how I feel about it.

Awww that is so cute ,  I could only hope that i get a wife that special. I'm still in highschool, but still. I've  yet to even have a date, so yeah, but hopefully i get a wife i love that much.

 

Anyways, i love Christmas time, And its true Christmas isn't really originally a Christian celebration, I knew this even as a Christian. The Jesus not being born on Christmas thing i thought was pretty common knowledge, but idk ;p.

 

So while as a Christian i don't object exactly to the Christian part of it i realize its not an actual Christian holiday at its core exactly. 

 

But anyways, i didn't come to debate Christmas and Christianity. 

 

I did come to say I love it, and its just a nice cheerful time that makes me just a little happier. Its even better when people get together during this time and make differences, or just be nicer to each other. 

 

Its just a nice time of year really . Especially if you make the most of it.

 

And i love a couple Christmas songs a good bit, but i think this is probably my favorite.

Not only do i think its a beautiful song, but its got meaning behind it for me to.

 

Mostly because its almost like tradition for me and my family to watch the Grinch during Christmas time, and i always loved this song.

 

To be fair i like this version better then the one in the movie, but still. Its a good Christmas song i think .

Its just a beautiful song, and very touchy and true and just has a great message if you really take it in.

 

Maybe i'm just crazy about music, i kinda am ;p, but its beautiful.

 

So yeah, Christmas is pretty awesome, especially when you really take it in.

To some it may be, but I have come across a fair few in different denominations (i.e Pentacostal and Baptists) that still believe it is and practice as if it were. I admit the churches and stuff make it hard for them not to beleive it, with the whole nativity thing.

i suppose its just kinda became tradition, and nobody wants to celebrate it on whatever the actual official date is.

 

It doesn't necessarily bother me personally, but it is true that it doesn't technically symbolize the Birth of Christ or anything.

 

Doesn't stop me from enjoying the celebration regardless .

While I respect what everyone believes and do not have a means to qurral with anypony who has a religion or not, I didn't start this topic so we can talk about the bases of Christmas being part of a religous factor for Christains and Catholics, fake or not. I started this topic because I wanted to share music with everypony who enjoys christmas music and some happy stories from the holidays before. So what if people don't believe or have facts to that a religion is not based for this holiday, should we be at least happy in fact we have something once a year, where people can choose to be nice to others, give gifts and spread joy to each other, being merry, not think of war or politics, people dying etc.

 

This is a time for laughter, for giving to one another and being happy for what you have. That is... thats what it means to me, not for the sake of religion. This is a holiday I love because it gives humanity a chance to step back and be kind to one another. "Joy to the World" dare I say more?

 

So lets just keep the politics on religion down, and simply post content thats joyful or giving, stuff that makes people happy during this time of year. Ok? I'd appreciate that to you and everypony else who posts here in the future. Personally ya I am a christain, my fiance is athiest, so you can see how open minded I am. In fact I'm so open minded that there are several things i question about my religion, but not the morality of it, which is based on common sense, like: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Just an example.

Ah Christmas. The best part of the holidays is just being home with the family; it's kind of lonesome being so far away for so long.

 

So Christmas music; it always seems to start being played way too early. By mid December, I'm getting kinda tired of hearing those Christmas classics, but there is one song I never tire of: Carol of the Bells. As far as I can tell, it's not one of the more popular songs of the season, but I love it. The melody, the harmony, the rhythm; it's powerful, it's moving, it's iconic. It's my favorite Christmas song to both play and listen to.
