Hello once again, everypony!

 

So I've been absent from the forums as of late but I was working hard on yet more pony art! So people might now that I was thinking of starting an "ask Applejack" blog on tumblr, and well I did it.

 

It's called "Southern Belle AJ" (for those who are curious, a Southern Belle is an archetypical character in American culture, the picture of grace and civility of the southern state's upper class, In short a "Beauty from the South").

 

What started as a light-hearted back and forth between myself and the tumblr community, with them asking questions and myself drawing the answers, quickly escalated into a whole meta-universe in which Applejack and Shining Armor had a fling some time in the past and, currently, Sweet Apple Acres becoming besieged by giant cats.

 

 

Yes, the SBAJ blog is now a full-blown meta comic, with the story being shaped by YOUR questions and suggestions.

Chapter two is ongoing right now! Any follows and/or reblogs would be greatly appreciated, and remember to ask AJ any questions/ give any suggestions that come to mind.

 

I'd also greatly appreciate any critique/suggestions for improving SBAJ, any meta-story ideas, plot lines, subject matter etc. It's all useful!

I just always wondered

 

1.

When drawing in photoshop I use 300DPI 1280 x 1280 for the squares and 1280 x 640 for the panels. Save them as presets so you can make a new panel easy. Tumblr CAN display larger images so don't worry if you want to make higher resolution pics, but 1280x1280 is a comfortable size for me for the purposes of this blog.

 

2.

Alt + Print screen > Paste into photoshop. I then cut out the question and re size (Ctrl + T, transform tool) it to 1280 pixels lengthwise and increase the size of the text by selecting it and Ctrl + T so the text is easier to read. You can either put the question at the top of your panel or make it a separate cropped image and put both it and your answer in the post.

Hee hee. I quite liked that picture of Applejack blushing with regards to the whole Shining Armor thing, and with how the prince "liked this." XD But yeah, love this artwork. So lively and beautiful. Just outright fun! Keep up the good work.

Also a quick note to say I've updated the blog with a page about the Shining Armor Incident, where you can read about it in its entirety. It's not in the same format as the Cat Plague as it was a spur-of-the-moment thing but it's what inspired me to turn the blog into a meta-comic in the first place.
