Nik forgot about Batman wannabe's threats for the moment as Synthia stood up to him. This would not do.

 

"Why? Because I can, that's why" Nik sniffed arrogantly, crossing his arms. "Very funny you mention salt though. What, did you not get enough back in the lab? Or were you that much of a failure that they didn't even consider putting your corpse up for display in a museum" Nik spat harshly

It took her less than a moment to fairy quick-attack him from across the room. Another moment to human punch him in the face and knee him in the crouch. And the third moment was a follow-up crescent kick from combat training. This ended in a disengage back to her bow, which she had aimed leathaly. "Leave. Now."

Nico could not believe what just happened. He suddenly burst out laughing. "What happened to you? t looked like you got beaten by a girl. Oh wait. You did." Nico then continued to laugh.

 

Melissa saw the Sylveon combo punch Nik and heard Nico's laugh and insult. Feeling angry, Melissa decided to Ice Beam Nico's legs to the floor and the Sylveon's arms.

Nik hissed, gagging and trying to keep himself from barfing in pain. The breath had been driven out of him and agony ran through him. Still, pride was a powerful motivator and Nik wasn't afraid of her.

"Go ahead, lab rat. After all, it's what you created for, right? Just a killer woman...then again, you're not really a woman, are you?" Nik laughed mockingly, still sprawled on the floor

Nico and Melissa

Nik looked cowed the instant he saw Melissa. He whimpered and bowed his head. Pride may be a good motivator, but that odd force that had compelled him to stand up to Nico earlier was stronger. Nik gulped and got up, giving Synthia a weak salute and staggering over to Melissa.

"T-thanks" he smiled, giving her a genuine smile and hugging her

The sound was sudden, out of nowhere - a rolling thunderclap, impossible to miss.  With a flash of light Raiga found himself in the middle of the fight, having used Quick Attack to get across the room quickly.  The source of the sound was the whip hanging from his hand, which had been previously coiled around his arm and hidden up his sleeve.

 

"ENOUGH!"  The Raikou Gijinka's words boomed, backed up by Roar.  He spared a glare at all of them involved before gesturing around the common room.  "You are all in a crowded room full of panicked students - if you want to fight, take it elsewhere!"  A crackle of lightning from Raiga's claws punctuated his words, the normally peaceful boy ready to back it up if necessary.  Fighting in here was only going to cause a mass panic - he wasn't about to stand by and let something like that happen.  "I don't care what any of this was about, a fight in here is going to get innocent bystanders hurt."  A growling much like thunder in the distance can be heard coming from him, and it didn't seem like he was about to back off until they'd all calmed down.

Melissa stiffened but then relaxed and hugged Nik back. "Anytime." Melissa whispered into his ear. She pushed him away and got a good look at him. "You really need to clean up. You don't look good." She commented. She then jumped back in fright when she heard Raiga shout.

Nik jumped when the thunder crashed but then grew serious as he saw Melissa jump as well.

"Enough with the lightning, we get it, Mr. Entitled!" Nik yelled, trying to be heard over the crackling noise. "Just because you're a legendary doesn't give you the right to go around blasting lightning like that!" Nik growled, his tail moving in front of Melissa in case Raiga did something rash. Better Nik's tail get lopped off than Melissa get hurt

Nico simply put his hood over his head and tried to block the noise out as best he could.

"Uh Nik? I don't think you'd want to enrage the legendary any further." Melissa cautioned Nik. She was glad that he had his tail up to protect her but she cans till take care of herself.

 

 

Charlotte

 

"Okay. Come on kiddies. Let's you get you over to the cafeteria." Charlotte said. She ushered the straggling students into the Cafeteria. Not trusting them, she decided to stay and keep an eye on them.

 

 

Joshu

 

Joshu quietly hummed his composition, that is, until Raiga thunder-clapped and shouted.

Raiga stands up straighter to turn his glare towards Nik, cocking his head slightly.  "My goal was to prevent anyone from being hurt - if you would think with your brain instead of your tail, that would have been obvious.  I'm not so ill-disciplined as to let my abilities stray enough to strike someone I don't intend them to."  Raiga's voice stayed calm the entire time he spoke, though there was still the faintest hint of thunder behind his words.

 

Glancing briefly at Nik's tail wrapped around Melissa, Raiga rolls his eyes slightly.  "Calm down.  I've no intentions of allowing anyone to get hurt.  That includes my room mate that you seem intent on guarding."  He turns his gaze from Nik to Melissa, then to Nico and Synthia.  "If you wish to fight, go to the gym.  Find a Professor.  Beat each other up all you want there, where bystanders won't be caught in something they have no part of.  Further violence here, where students are already worried about the power outage, is only going to make matters worse."

"Yeahh I should have mentioned that he's my roommate." Melissa said slowly. She wanted to take Nik's tail off of her but was afraid of what he might do.

"I wasn't fighting. I was just talking and laughing. Am I not allowed to do that?" Nico asked curiously. He was slightly angry but didn't show it on his face.

"You were struck by an ice beam," Raiga states very matter-of-factly.  "I wished to intervene before potential retaliation, not afterwards.  Violence breeds only more violence if it goes unchecked, like an avalanche tumbling down a mountain. Speak, laugh, do what you wish.  I bear no ill will towards any of you."  Probably the weirdest part of that statement was he meant it - even towards Nik.

 

"I'll not stand by and watch as senseless fighting causes unnecessary dissent, however.  Prevention is better than repair."  Believing that the situation had mostly diffused, Raiga turns to bow his head slightly in turn to all of them before walking back to the corner where he'd been sitting.  Holding the sleeve of his robe back with his teeth as he walks in order to try and get his whip re-wrapped around his forearm, Raiga briefly bows towards Dusk, Amaya, Zach, and Zoey as he rejoins them.

"My apologies for my outburst...  I know, it's not my place to step in like that.  It didn't appear there was a member of the faculty nearby to do so, however."  Raiga moves back to where he'd been sitting in the corner near their group, again turning his gaze towards the door as though waiting for someone.

The thunder brought her back to her senses, back to being Synthia, instead of a Subject. She took a step back and lowered her bow, dazed. She looked at the legendary with a mixture of awe and gratitude, but couldn't find her voice. Instead, she bowed and walked towards her room.

"Oh...okay" Nik mumbled, letting Melissa go. He felt awkward with the new information from Raiga and Melissa. Normally, he'd snap back a response to Raiga, but he felt that Melissa was more important.

"Se ya around" Nik chuckled weakly, running off, breaking the tension

Samantha

 

Samantha arrived to the school with the rest of the group and headed to the gym, waiting for the lights to come on. It wasn't that she couldn't see in the dark, she had night vision anyway. She heard a crack of thunder and went to investigate. It came from the common rooms.

 

When she arrived, it was no surprise that it was caused by a Raikou man, but the surprise came in the fact that Nik was fighting a girl who looked to be part-Sylveon, however the Raikou man was standing in the middle. She didn't want to interfere, it wouldn't turn out well if she did, so she stayed by the door and let the Sylveon girl pass and she turned and walked away.

 

Rune

 

Rune sat in stunned silence, partially due to the shock, partially due to having to carry a person and 100 pounds of equipment 10 miles. As Synthia turned away and walked out, Rune shot one last glare at Nik and then followed after her, a Porygon Z Gijinka grabbing his arm on the way out.

 

"Don't do it. That guy isn't worth it." Samantha said to him. "I'm aware of this, but I've got more important things to do than plot revenge against that trash." Rune replied, yanking his arm away and chasing after Synthia for the second time.

 

He found her in the dorms, luckily Ms. Althaia had delivered the stuff to the dorm, it was all leaning against the wall inside the room. Luckily she didn't do any searching around, or else she might have found that generator and they wouldn't be able to have that date tonight.

 

"I told you I wouldn't give up. Can you please stop running away? There is such a thing as too much exercise you know." Rune half-joked.

Melissa noticed Nik run away instead of saying an insult like he usually did. 'I wonder why that was.' She thought to herself. She turned and walked out of the common room to try and find Nik.

 

 

Nico

 

Nico noticed the Gallade gijinka, Sylveon gijinka and Nik run out of the common room. He couldn't do anything about because his legs were frozen to the floor so instead he just put his hood up, leaned his head against the wall and tried to sleep.

Nik felt something inside of him, a pain he hadn't felt before. Nik sighed and leaned on a wall, the pain draining his energy. Why did it matter so much that she didn't need his help? Nik's brain got to work and reached a surprising conclusion: Was it because he desired her approval and acceptance? Nik wiped his eyes and was shocked to see his arm come off wet. Why did he feel this need to be accepted by her?

Dusk

 

When they had arrived at the campus it would be an understatement to say that things got a little out of hand, thankfully Raiga and Melissa were there to quell the unrestricted spirits of chaos. Dusk turned up as looke up at Anaya still clear on his shoulders and gave a sigh. Once Raiga had apologize for his little outburst Dusk merely chuckled and waved his hand as off brushing the whole fiasco under a rug.

 

"No worries pal, Things always go sour when Nik enters the scene. I'm just glad he's always outnumbered when it comes to people having actual common sense." Dusk smiled as he extended a hand out for the electic buddy to shake.

 

"Forgot if I ever introduced myself properly but my names Dusk! And don't worry about shocking me, in pretty much a tank now." He said reassuring the guy with a smile. He then looked up at Amaya,

 

"Told ya I could carry you all the way here." He said quite proud of his feat of strength.

 

Jon

 

Jon had been in the kitchen checking up and saving as much fridge and freezer foods as he could, though it was thanks to some local ice Gijinka kitchen staff, it seems the stock of food would be alright. As soon as Althaia had come to check up on him he lifted the googles from his eyes and spoke with her.

 

"Our stock of foods is going to remain unchanged since we mostly use gas powered stoves and ovens in the first place. As for the cold stuff, that's saved too. We have enough here to go for a good few weeks or so, but if the electricity doesn't come on soon then some of the equipment we use in the classes as to maintain the school will be inoperable." Jon sighed as he caught his breath. He had been frantically working all over today to check up on the whole school, it was beginning to take its toll on his stamina.

 

"Let's go round up more of the students. We should take a roll call in the meeting places then decide what we should do. But I'll be planning on paying the electrical plant a visit tomorrow." Jon said as his wings unfurled and he began to lift off from the ground.

 

"We do this by the book.." Jon said as he took off towards the front of the campus.

"Understood." Althaia replied. She went out in to the cafeteria and took roll. No incidents had occurred, other than the one kid using Flash without actually knowing the move, at least that she had been aware of. She decided she'd go over to the gym and compare the roll with the other staff. No incidents in the gym either, but then once she reached the common rooms, after taking roll she had found that there were three students missing. Nik, Rune, and Synthia.

"Darius, looks like we're missing 3 students. Rune Blade, Synthia Xalven, and a kid named Nik with no last name." She said. "I personally helped Rune bring Synthia back to the school, they had been out camping or something and Rune had Synthia in his arms, passed out. He likely took her to their dorm so they can rest, which I'm fine with, as long as they're accounted for. I'll check there. We need to find this Nik kid though, I've been hearing rumors that he's been quite... busy... in the past two days. Already getting in to fights and in this state, I don't think it would be a good idea to let him run around unsupervised. Can you grab Lottie and Fernmint and get them searching? After I check Rune's dorm, I'll rejoin the search." Althaia planned.

Melissa wandered the school halls, trying to figure out where Nik went. She turned a corner and found him leaning against the wall. Melissa warily walked up to him. "Nik? Is everything okay?" She asked him. She was worried about and she didn't know why.

"No" Nik grumbled, turning to face her.  "Something hurts inside of me, I want you to...like me I guess" Nik mumbled, kicking at the floor. "You've helped me so many times and I feel like I need to make sure you care about me" Nik smiled weakly, raising his head. "Do you like me?" Nik asked, sounding more vulnerable than ever

'He's actually admitting feelings!?' Melissa thought to herself. Melissa's face softened and she went over to hug him. "Of course I like you, otherwise I wouldn't be your partner now would I?" Melissa asked him. She stepped back and looked through her bag. "I know that .... Ahah." Melissa pulled out two books from the bag. "I was going to give you these later but I suppose I can give you them now. They're books on Ghost and Dark types, I figured they could help you with Dusk and Nico." Melissa said.

Nik smiled wearily and hugged Melissa back. She did care about him, there was someone who had stayed with him even after he had been cruel to other people. The realization hit him quickly and Nik realized that he cared for her too.

 

"Remember a while back, when you kissed me....can we do it again?" Nik asked, blushing hard. What if she said no?

'Okay now he's asking me to kiss him. This is definitely a big step up from before.' Melissa thought to herself. Melissa nodded, stepped closer and kissed him. 'At least now the feeling is mutual.' Melissa thought to herself.

 

(Yes! That's the second confession! Now all we need is for Dusk and Amaya to kiss.)

Nik slackened, pure happiness surging through his body. He didn't just like her, he...liked her. Nik managed to get his senses back and shake his head happily.

"I like you too" Nik mumbled quietly, kissing Melissa back. This was a lot more pleasant than the last time they had kissed

Melissa smiled as she felt Nik kiss back. 'He likes me! He really does like me!' Melissa thought with glee. She moved even to closer to Nik so that she could try and kiss him better. 'This is great. Now all that I have to do is worry about what the others will say but that can come later.' Melissa thought.
