Scarlet Letter 138 January 7, 2014 Author Share January 7, 2014 I'm a goth but I'm not full blown "cut-your-self-for-your-own-enjoyment!" lol. I may get quite a bit of hate from people for saying this: But I hate the sunlight, I love when it rains and when dark clouds absorb the entire sky, I like dark environments, I am pretty Negative when it comes to situations and events. I look at the glass as half-empty and I always take things too seriously. I have a poor sense of humor. I am antisocial, and to top it all off, I think about my life, like all the time. Now you might be thinking: "What the heck are you doing watching MLP: FIM!?!" but that is just the thing. Maybe if I got into a show about Friendship and Harmony then maybe it would help me be a friendlier person. My Ex-best friend was "EMO" as well and he used MLP as a life support. It would always bring him to school in a good mood. Though, my friend, HE REALLY DID cut himself. He was abused and I think that is what made him so dark. I myself was pretty positive until I got into middle school. Then everybody was just so mean (I'm in highschool now and they STILL ARE!), but that is a huge reason why I joined MLP forums, to have someone to talk to. I do prefer to be alone, but I DO have 1 or 2 close friends that I both can't talk to right now because they are busy -_-. I hope you guys can understand where I'm coming from, and please, don't judge! And about death, I really can't say much about that. I don't like death. I hate it. I am although constantly paranoid that it is right around the corner! I'm just fine though . Yup.... Not mental at all! (Insert Pinkie pie with a chainsaw here). I may also want to say that I got my Ex-best friend some serious help and I told the school that I went to that he was abused and they sent him to live with his mom. My true friend showed me one of his recent pictures and he isn't that gothic anymore, he is just a regular person, and he was even smiling in his picture! I should get in touch with him, and see if he is still a brony. My ex-best friend WAS an outgoing goth, which is kind of weird because he was more outgoing than a regular person even. That must have been the work of MLP. P.S. I too am against piercings. Why someone would want to ruin their skin like that is beyond me, but maybe piercings are their source for happiness. The reason I am so dark is because people (like my older sister) have made it their life goal to ruin my life goal. There. My 1800 character essay is finally over. Give me an A+ or else! I am not a smoker, and I DON'T cut myself, so I technically, by some of your standards, can't be classified as a Goth, Emo, or punk. I'm just an average Oddball then? Oh well. I LIKE YOU, be my friend! Like seriously, you just made my day They're just people to me. :l Some are probably whiny teens looking for attention, others might just like what the style looks like. *shrug* I don't really care. My first boyfriend was goth and that doesn't really mean much to me at all. is your current bf a goth? 1 She's a lot like me in a way^

Lightning Bliss 1,674 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 I find them, and i mean REAL goths, to be interesting, but at times for every type of goth I meet they tend to grow out of it, being they tend to refer to it as a phase where as some goths don't come out of it at all, which I would call pure goths. I'm not against it long as they don't pressure me to be like them, its a thing they wish to be so I won't judge. 1 I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt

Scootalove 10,689 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 I don't really have a problem with Goths. As long as they don't pressure me to be like them, they can enjoy the lifestyle that they choose to follow and not let anyone change how they view the world. They can do what they wish to do with their lives, just don't pretend to be a goth just to get attention. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Appetite4Democracy 452 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 Everyone judges others. We judge racists, we judge homophobes, etc. You never met Hitler, yet you probably still judge him as evil (which you should). Equating goths to homophobes, racists and Hitler is pretty rude, I'd say. If someone's an asshole (i.e. homophobic, racist, sexist, anti-semitic, transphobic, etc.) then they deserve to be called out on their bullshit. However, goths (which is really just a preference of fashion, aesthetics, and music that started in the '80s from the Gothic rock scene, which sprung from post-punk) should not be generalized or judged in the same way. It's a fashion sense and a taste in music, which doesn't say nearly as much about someone as their actions. My goth friend Savannah is a perfectly jolly person who just happens to be into a certain type of clothing and music. Pretty lame . I don't really see how it's productive. I don't see how any fashion sense or music taste is productive, but we all have them. 1 "For those about to rock, we salute you!"- ACϟDCSignature by Gone ϟ Airbourne (click the signature) My Tumblr Member of the Equestrian Gaming Clan

MLPForums Phanact 1,374 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 Such gothic, many black, so piercings, much dark. Goth's, like most groups, just wind me the fuck up. If you're dressing in a certain way to fit in then you're shallow and you annoy me. If someone who is a goth genuinely dresses that way because they feel comfortable then more power to them. 1 let's love for me and lets love loud and let's love now cause soon enough we'll die

Sugar Pea 2,682 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 Some people tend to be a little rude when it comes to subjects. :/Jeez people...On the topic, I don't really pay attention to all that when meeting someone, although it tells you something about their personality...that's where labeling comes in. I'm not talking about mean labeling like "emo" or "whore", but I mean under the traits of "Girly girl" or "tomboy"...that kind of labeling. Now when we get towards the subject of the label, "Goth", you usually think people dressed in all black and are pretty closed up, right? Well, like I said, I try not to pay attention to that stuff. I have made plenty of friends in the past who are goth, yet they turn out to be pretty cool people...not your stereotypical goth. So do I think they are uncool? Well, everyone is different. I think it depends on the person and how they present themselves. Other than that, I don't think someone is uncool unless they do something really harsh, bad, or very mean.... 1 ℓ٥ﻻ ﻉ√٥υ

Jamesblorg39welsh 125 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 (edited) Funny story today in guidance class we had to start a project where you wrote values of healthy friendships and people to avoid in friendships and at the end your group had to present your progress we'll some girls said they wanted to avoid goths because there sad and depressing an demo and this awesome kid just asked whose idea it was to write that then stood up and punched her in the face Edited January 8, 2014 by willem 2 "If you feel the need to treat me like garbage, I'll feel the need to throw you into the back of a compressing garbage truck." Appetite4Democracy 452 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 (edited) I don't care for them, it doesn't mean I hate them, but I don't like them either. They just have self pity and most of the goths I've seen just cut themselves. I'm not hating! I just don't care to see them or not. You're probably thinking of emos. I've known several goths (Like Savannah, who I mentioned previously) who are actually very happy and fun people. That's not to say that all goths are merry, happy, and joyful. Everyone is different and to generalize them in any way would be pointless and inaccurate. I'd also avoid generalizing emos, as many emos don't cut themselves but simply identify as emo and hang out with emos because they prefer to be around people who know what they're going through. That said, self-harm is usually an emo thing, not a goth thing.
