gaming Mari0, A mix of portal and mario!

Two genre defining games from completely different eras: Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. and Valve's Portal. These two games managed to give Platformers and First-Person Puzzle Games a solid place in the video game world. But what if Nintendo teamed up with Valve and recreated the famous Mario game with Portal gun mechanics?

This game Features a Complete recreation of SMB with elements from Portal,4-player simultaneaous coop, a Level Editor that was used to create the levels in the game, 33 different hats Downloadable Mappacks and Game modifiers for extra fun!

I personally love this concept!

 

this game runs on linux, osx, windows and is open source!

 

EDIT: so I just played this game a little, needless to say it is an AWESOME remake even with out the portal elements! sadly I have to sleep now, so I will play some more soon and report back!

I see this game as having a lot of potential, especially if there are online capabilities such as downloading user created content. At first I wasn't really thrilled with it, but then it came to the "additional features" and slapped me in the face with a ma editor. In my opinion, this is one thing that all games should have. While I do trust developers to come up with great ideas for their games, imaginative players always manage to come out on top in terms of content.

 

To be honest, it doesn't seem like the sort of game to interest me much, but then again, neither did minecraft, and I ended up buying that But I let user feedback determine whether a game is great or not, so perhaps if it gets popular I shall give it a shot (This is how I got involved in MLP to begin with)

This stuff is very addictive

 

Instead of plummeting enemies to their squishy doom, you can just portal them away in some pit. Killed all the bowser this way
