I'm not seeing what you guys are talking about. These articles aren't lambasting the fandom. They are questioning why there's a large dislike for it and how media is using I to create controversy. From where I'm looking, they actually aren't expressing in like or dislike over it. The sentences you're focusing on are meant as humor, kinda like the stuff you'd see on Cracked.com. They aren't any more derogatory than the digs at Frisbee Golf and obsessing over violins. If you ask me, there's no harm in the articles.

Smosh is just desperate for a story that will make a reader laugh. They are supposed to be comedy right? I'm not sure whether Ian or Anthony hate bronies, but whenever my best friend sends me a smosh video, I just close it and tell him that I watched it. The videos they make are just stupid. I think that everybody is out to make fun of bronies. Don't they have anything better in their lives to do?

Eh, there are a few little jabs in there, but the articles don't seem that bad. There's more positive than negative in there really lol, with some speaking out against male stereotyping and whatnot. I don't see how people are mad at this if they actually read the articles.

I generally don't care what people have to say about bronies in general. The article I read was not that interesting really but made some okay points about what ponies falsely perceive about fans of MLP. Personally, I feel that bronies are so mainstream now that there's no real need to even continue discussing it further unless in a super broad assault on gender (roles).
