How do ponies inspire you?

Searched for a similar thread, but that would have involved necros, so here's a shiny one.

Any generation, any character, and plotline...or plot hole; does mlp give you motivations? I like to take a closer look at mlp to find inspirations for my non-mlp stories. I've always loved the use of cartoons to spark ideas despite the style of my writing and who it's more intended for. I've also learned that detail really isn't everything and from that, I've been more free with my artwork. However,  I have to say that I am a little bit, just a tiny bit, disappointed by how much I glaze over the morals and lessons of the show and what I could learn from it to improve my own personal issues. I wonder if anyone feels the same way I just mentioned.

Mostly in music and artwork rather than the show itself. But uhh I guess Shining Armor and Cadance have inspired me some, as much as I hate to admit it.

A long time ago, when I was in the Mechanical trade, I wasn't very happy.  Every day was the same shit, and I didn't have anything to look forward to.  I would brose the /r/F7U12 all dya, and all night when I came home.
Eventually, MLP started working its way into the comics, and I was all like "Dafuq is this shit" so I watched an episode.

And Another

Eventually, I couldn't get enough pony, so I started hangin' out in the community, and I started hearing some pretty cool music coming out of it all.  All I wanted to do was to contribute to the community some how, to get my voice out there.  So I decided I would try to make mlp-themed music as well.

2 years later, and 4 months at a music school in New York, here I am.  I am a contract-DJ 48 weeks of the year, and I make music in my spare time.
Now, none of it is pony-themed any more, but I will say, that music has shown me some of the coolest people I've ever known.  I've done things and gone places, that I wouldn't have if I wasn't pursuing music.  I make electronic music with real instruments, and I collab with real people.  It's one of the things about myself that I am most proud of.

And it all started with MLP in a Reddit thread.

Ponies has inspired me to better myself. It's inspired me to be a true friend at all costs, because now I know what it means to be one. I was never good at making friend.

Not only have the ponies inspired me, but the community around it too. I started to draw again because I really wanna be a part of the MLP community. I want to contribute something.

I saw all the art and music that was born because of ponies, and it's so amazing to me.

I'm just very proud to be part of such a welcoming, accepting environment.

Inspiration: something that makes someone want to do something or that gives someone an idea about what to do or create : a force or influence that inspires someone

Though I'd like to say that it has done something "magical" or "life-changing", I don't believe it has. I've laughed, I haven't cried, but it seems to me that it doesn't make me want to do anything or create anything new. Though it is cyclical. It sucks you into a vast community, but then what? It inspires you to pony more? That just doesn't seem good. It hasn't affected me, at least not in the way that one may think. Not necessarily positively.

Fall Weather Friends inspired me to be more athletic. I've fat for most of my life and I didn't cared much about exercise, but since then, in mere months, I could make 20 push-ups, bars, and abs. It motivated me to be active, if it means to walk at least. Later, I could overcome some military obstacles, like jumping a wall, climb a slide, etc, and most recently, I could make a backflip in bars, I lost over 13 kilos as a result.

And I found the positive side for my miserable life in where I live thanks to Magical Mystery Cure, before that, I was unmotivated, but since then, I got the will to fight for a better future, I started to know myself better, not blindly believe others are right but not me, I got something to stand against, I accepted my flaws and darkness, etc, in other words, I finally got my self-worth, something that evaded me for years, but a mere episode showed it to me, one of my happiest moments of my life, and I intend to follow my dreams, or fall fighting

In terms of social its a big help, be more involved with mates and help them solve problems rather than start them but for creativity it inspires me to avoid writing dark, depressing stuff and remember that not everything has to be hardcore to be good.

A samurai pyromancer? That's a bit overpowered.

"Trust me, there is much more out there that's stronger than me, I'm a soldier, not a god"

It inspired me to dream, and fight for whatever I wish to be true. Workout is one thing, but also to move forward in my life. Hell, even using negative feeling like grudges in a positive way :mlp_icwudt:

Ponies inspired me to create, be happy, honest, kind, and express myself. Even though I don't really watch FiM anymore, I'll always love the characters and Faust's influence that help me kept going.

I love how diverse the characters are. I'm interested in all characters, especially side and background characters. Everyone offers something new and there are many, many inspirational moments and circumstances. It's fun to make my own stories and art from it. :muffins:
