Ehh... I agree, you'll have to a be a real man to do it. Though once this craze dies down (which it will eventually, lets all face it) you'll be stuck with it.

 

Meh, Pokemon never died, and it's directed towards children (at least the anime is). Not saying ponies will never die, i'm just saying that ponies losing it's fanbase isn't exactly set in stone.

 

Now getting a tattoo would still be risky as all hell, but if he wants a pony tattoo I think he should go for it.

It's really up to you Scarfy to make your own decision in getting a MLP tattoo. IMO, it would be great to show how much dedication you have to this show and its fandom. It maybe permanent (until you get it removed) but years from now, looking back at the popularity of the show, it would be damn well worth it.

Sorry to go off topic for a second, but sure the pokemon fanbase never died out. though it has died down, right now bronies are the biggest thing on the market. eventually another group will dominate, we'll still be around but not as big.

Yeah, I have to go with the majority of people on this thread and say don't get an MLP tattoo. Now that's not to say you shouldn't get a tattoo, because, here's the thing, I'm actually getting a tattoo myself next week, on my left shoulder. Now, I thought about this for a long time, and here's a couple of the requirements I made for any tattoo I got mentally in my head before making this decision; (1) if a pop culture reference of any sort, it needed to be a subtle reference, which this is (in this case, it's a very, very subtle Halo reference, namely in that the tat I'm getting is an emblem that my multiplayer character in Halo: Reach has), and (2) it should be in an area that, in the future, will not negatively affect your professional career (i.e. is not visible, or at least explicitly visible, during business hours or in a job interview, so nothing on the neck, forearm, face, etc.), which is why I decided to get this tattoo next week on my left shoulder, an area that can easily, and is usually, covered. But the biggest requirement of all is that it not be something trendy, not just a reference to some show or game you like; I know I said that this tat is going to be a very subtle Halo reference for myself, but really, it's also going to be a statement about part of my personal philosophy, primarily concerning the value I place in perseverance (a banner's going to be above the emblem with the words "Finish the Fight"), and so I'll just leave you with this... if you do at any point decide to get a tattoo, that's perfectly fine, just make sure it really expresses something about yourself that's really important to you. Hope this helps.

I have a tattoo, and plan on another one on my ankle and foot but it isn't mlp related and I don't think I would ever even consider getting mlp one ever. I love the show but it doesn't have a deep meaning for me.

 

I believe tattoos should be considered for at LEAST a year before actually getting it, I thought on my tattoo for over a year, and then got my tattoo after careful consideration of where and what it meant to me.

 

My second tattoo I want I am six months in to considering it and I am pretty set as is bf (I believe he gets a say in something that is on me forever since we plan on being married and he has to live with it too forever )

 

I think if mlp means that much to you that is great, but just remember tattoos last FOREVER, they haven't found an affective way to remove them without scarring or discoloration of the skin. So just take that into consideration planning out that tattoo

 

Also they don't hurt that bad, the less skin there is in a spot, and closer to a bone it is it will hurt more, of course I am a bad person to ask opinions about pain since I have a high pain tolerance and enjoy pain

if my obsession for Rarity increases to the point that I can't handle it anymore and if I become a super mega brony in the next years, I would consider having a Rarity cutie mark tatto (this is actually more of a negative possibily rather than a positive), probably on my right ass cheek
