Ponies holding hoofs lesbians?

Recommended Posts

So I know it would be "show suicide" to have an open lesbian or gay pony couple. But wouldn't it be awesome if like in the background we could have two mares holding hoofs or something of the like. If only if only. Anywho thoughts on this?

Thanks

Who were cousins in the North American dub. (Shoot! Someone beat me to it!)

Network executives are going to be conservative (cautious, not necessarily in the political sense of the term) about these sorts of things. It's very unlikely Hasbro would green-light a scenario that could get them into trouble with their investors. From a purely business perspective, touching on hot topics with your most successful franchise is an incredibly risky endeavor.

Frankly speaking, if there were any hint of a homosexual relationship (or heterosexual one, depending on the characters involved), I'd rather it not unfold as a halfhearted publicity stunt. Deal with the topic directly and seriously. I'm not entirely certain if MLP is really the forum to handle controversial social issues so boldly, however.

I am taking it seriously. Something needs to take a stand, and make people grow up, instead of grabbing tourches and pitchforks over a topic like this on TV. I'm not saying MLP has to do it, but if they did, I don't see the problem. I'd figure that we'd grow past it, like back in the 60's, when Star Trek had a multicultural cast. It shouldn't kill any show, just because they show something that a bunch of moronic zealots, who are stuck in 1950, think is wrong.

Its not going for force anything on anyone, but it would help the world accept people that are out in the world.

Any sort of homo or heterosexual relationship at this point in the MLP franchise would most likely be nothing more than a publicity stunt. And those stunts cause investors to sell their stocks, and pull their money from your company, which causes your company to loose value, and maby even go under. So no, unless they are suddenly loosing massive amounts of money, and need the SJW dollars in order to stay afloat (ala kotaku, or cracked.com) then no, they are not lesbian, the show is meant for little girls, sexuality does not really exist at that age, and such a stunt would cause MASSIVE shit storms and lose of revenue.

My Little Pony isn't some god damn political battleground people! Keep this to life, not a show for the masses!

But yeah, i'd rather they stay away issues like that to be honest

inb4 some "red pilled" guy or SJW comes storming in and says that a show meant for 4-9 year old girls should infact be trying to push sexuality and political issues onto said 4-9 year old girls.

>misses point completely

>argues show is not for kids, despite being marketed that way since day one

>even hasbro, the owner of said show states that it is meant to be marketed towards little girls

I'm thinking about this from a physics point of view. Quadrupedal animals holding hooves would be at best unwieldy, at worst downright dangerous. This sounds like a very bad idea to me.

This show has a theme that trumps all others, and that I see many ponies forgetting. Friendship is magic! And what comes with that? Honesty, loyalty, genorosity, laughter, kindness, and magic. Do you know what thoes equal? Love. Whether its love for friends, family, or that special somepony, its love. And acceptance! I think that if the show wants to put out that message, it should. It doesn't matter what a pony looks like, what their hobbies or likes are, or even their sexual orientation! They should benaccepted anyways, because isn't that what Princess Twilight Sparkle is saying and teaching all the time?

No, that would not be awesome at all. I don't think you know what "awesome" means. I would suggest looking it up, along with "hyperbole".

At the most, it'd be...Something that existed.

if they ever feel the need to touch on it, the more subtle the better. Heck, just having two stallions together all the time who look happy would probably be enough. Look at Lyra & Bon Bon...

Again, i don't get why you guys want MLP to be all controversial and edgy, what with the breastfeeding topic, topics about characters dying off, gay couples, cadance being pregnant, etc. Yall basically want it for the purpose of making a statement. MLP is not that kind of show.

I like the show the way it is, personally. All of that stuff would just be completely unnecessary and/or a publicity stunts.

Recall what happened with Derpy from a simple fact that she's a wall-eyed and clumsy. And you want gay ponies? Really? It would definitely end with the show being pulled out from the screen by the maddening soccer moms and Church officials. MLP:FiM is already controversial for some. Do we really need more controversy coming out?

Moreover, I don't see a point of making human or pony sexuality a public thing whatsoever. Sexuality is private, and let is stay that way.

I would like to see it in the background. I don't often enjoy seeing romantic relationships of any orientation between main or even secondary characters, but some variation in the pairings of background ponies would be nice. Gay people exist in real life so why not acknowledge their existence in cartoons? It doesn't have to be a big statement, just a reflection of what's real.

I personally think/ wish that the show would tackle things like drug use and homosexuality and political stuff. If done right. I mean I know its a little kids show first but even some kind of "manual" to equestria on these issues to the adult fan base would work. I feel that ponies is in a unique position to do this type of thing. That being said if it didn't happen I would be ok with it after all it is just a tv show. But like i say one can dream.
