I would not eat any meat. There are still factories IN NORTH AMERICA, marketing horse meat. So awareness that be, if people will criticize the thankfully declining dog and cat trade in Asia, people need to open up their eyes to the bigger picture and the reality of how cruel America is to many domestic animals we love dearly.

Not a chance. Just feels wrong. Which is probably hypocritical since I do eat other meat. Interesting to think how I might feel about eating beef or chicken had I grown up in a culture that doesn’t eat them, have to imagine it’d be similar to how I feel about eating horse meat.

How grotesque I find the idea of eating horse meat? I'd rather do a 1,000 years in Tartarus in MLP fiction than consume their flesh. There's not one iota of wordplay that would ever convince me to eat horses, not there or here in the real world. No need when fruit, vegetables and legumes get me all the nourishment I need.

I'm sorry your father ate horse meat with such rage. I hope they stop the breeding and exploitation of horses once and for all because they too deserve to live and are not meat to be eaten but rather animals!

We come from a place known for a lot of horse activity so it was rather upsetting, but I don't blame him for it since it was just offered to him with no context. I get Japan's a completely different place and they probably have different views on horses than us, but I agree with you, horses don't deserve to be exploited!

Not only that but it would be problematic even here on this website. Think about it, I know MLP characters are fictional however imagine a fantasy scenario that was not the case, if they saw humans eating horse meat they'd consider humans a threat and rightfully so. Differences of culture are irrelevant in cases like that, what matters is the problem. And while MLP characters are not real, horses are and are still sentient like humans are.

Just like dogs and cats, horses don't deserve exploitation either, and the illegal exploitation of dogs, cats, and horses unfortunately continues. Poor animals!
