Pony Shrug in GIMP

So, I just spent the past hour making this.  Not sure if there were any quicker ways to do it. Got the vector from DA, and then used the mane and tail from my General Zoi OC pictures.  I am not an avid art-doer, so something like GIMP is still pretty foreign to me, even something as simple as this. All the careful re-sizing and erasing took up most of my time. Getting in there pixel by pixel is annoyingly tedious, but at least it yields a better result than if I half-arsed it. If I'm going to do anything art, weather it be a meme or my steam ponies, I expect myself to do a good job, even if I don't know what I'm doing.

By the way, does my mane look purple to you? I am not sure if it's just my computer screen, but it's supposed to be blue....yet it looks purple. That purple and green just don't match well....

Sorry the mane looks purple to me too. But that is really good being in gimp and all. Keep it up!

Good work!I've been meaning to do what you've done for a while now and yes the mane looks green and purple.

hmmm...I gotta change that....it's supposed to be a blue/green mane....and for my other creations, the mane has been blue, but then one day, it all turned purple so I thought it was just me....I shall post a modified one shortly.

 

Edit: on my tumblr, the mane looks blue, but my avatar looks purple....This is so weird. Maybe it's the type of blue being used (it's a very vibrant one), it doesn't quite relay itself right with the LCD screen of your computer...idk...I'll see what I can do change it (like my deep, vibrant colors though)....
