Gyruss 125 March 7, 2014 Share March 7, 2014 (edited) Although the merits of the argument are a topic for another thread, creating a "boy-oriented" MLP would rustle a lot of jimmies. Heck, as things stand now, you already have people out there arguing that bronies have "stolen" and "corrupted" MLP - that's of course a discussion all its own. If you took and made a "boy" version of the show, you'd most likely have people saying "Can't girls have something nice without boys taking it over?" The Blades Shadow 444 March 7, 2014 Share March 7, 2014 I probably wouldn't watch it. It would ruin the point of MLP for me... I prefer having a break from all the violence and dirty jokes on tv, and having a new version of MLP for boys would pretty much make it just like everything else. Maybe if King Sombra directed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljepXAaAmiw Oh my Celestia I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. Zhortac 1,474 March 7, 2014 Share March 7, 2014 Are you crazy? Hasbro never runs two things alike at once, they would shit can MLP to make that new one run. That's how the idiots who run Hasbro think, and how it's been run for decades. Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.
Koelath 445 March 7, 2014 Share March 7, 2014 "Pony Commander" sounds unimaginably dumb as both a title and a premise...It'd probably be some awful garbage ala 80s toons that just vomited masculine stereotypes onto the screen with no care for quality (like G.I. Joe).
Envy 6,169 March 7, 2014 Share March 7, 2014 No offense to you, but that sounds horribly lame, and I wouldn't tag along. Why can't we all just accept having a well-written and enjoyable show that is designed for girls? Guys have tons of shows for themselves, and tons of characters to relate to. MLP should stay the way it is, and does not need to branch out for "Bronies". Everything needs more woodwind!

Would most fans be okay with that? No. Should they be okay with that? Eh I'm to tired to say right now. I've seen the fan trailer rule 63 ponies. Blitz, dusk shine, etc, etc. IT was pretty funny hearing rainbow blitz go "Nerdddddddddddddddddddd!" at the end. And Babs (aka female smike) push Dusk shine forward. So if it was a male show we wouldn't have anymore songs? Pfff sign me up ^^. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTYhrZUgYY flight to the finish. i continue to improve,
Denim&Venöm 19,098 March 8, 2014 Share March 8, 2014 Maybe if they just made it straight up quirky slapstick comedy w/ overtly destructive fantasy violence and some educational tidbits and pop culture references thrown in. Think Animaniacs & Freakazoid crossed with Ed, Edd n Eddy and Megas XLR
MLPForums Phanact 1,374 March 8, 2014 Share March 8, 2014 I'd much prefer them to just make a new generation of toys/figurines that ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE THE CHARACTERS. Also, a Shining Armour would be nice because he's #hottestpony2k14 let's love for me and lets love loud and let's love now cause soon enough we'll die
Glitterheart 64 March 8, 2014 Share March 8, 2014 It would depend entirely on how the show itself turned out, buuuut I have a feeling that anything created specifically for boys would likely end up being terrible. I think the most that ever could/should be done is maybe have a couple episodes here and there focusing on some of the male cast members. Big Mac episode, anyone? ... And now that I think of it, a Sea Breeze episode set in the breezies' world would kill this and at least one or two other birds with one stone. Hi. SomariFeyWright 776 March 8, 2014 Share March 8, 2014 Pony Commander. My god, that sounds like a dreadful idea. Now, I'm not against shows that aim themselves primarily toward the male demographic, but the problem is, most of them try to appeal to the morons who still think fart jokes are funny and blatant innuendos are "edgy" and "cool". A male aimed My Little Pony couldd work, but there's no reason for it to be any different than the normal show itself. Not without sucking or being downright offensive, I mean. Personally, I'll stick with My very mature Little Ponies, thank you. Awesome signature made by Tromino. The Peculiar Derp 193 March 9, 2014 Share March 9, 2014 (edited) It depend on how well written it is, If it's like full of gross-out humor and unreasonable fight scenes, maybe not. But that's your average boy's television show nowadays. -_- But I'm not saying the occasional fart/butt joke is bad, or a good fight scene. Scootalove 10,689 March 9, 2014 Share March 9, 2014 I don't think they would need to have the new generation aimed at the male audience, they just need to focus an episode on a male character which wouldn't be so bad.
