Well.......here's a question I want to ask all of you.   In your opinion, how would you feel if there was a Japanese Anime of MLP:FIM?

 

Personally, I wouldn't care, yet i think the series would be somewhat darker.

Idk....I wouldn't believe it to be humanized ponies though....just as with Hamtaro and other animal centric anime, they can keep it the same ponies we all know and love...just with a more mature take....

Too broad of a question. 'Anime' ranges way too much, when it can contain anything from Dragonball Z to Grave of the Fireflies. Can you be more specific?

Very well.......When I said "Anime", I meant as in story, like a darker story, more/deep romantic relationships, a darker adventure, etc.   Something around there.

There's really nothing saying that the anime would be darker. Anyone who suggests so has obviously never seen Ah My Goddess or Azumanga Daioh.

 

Anime =/= broody.

"What if MLP was darker, had deeper relationships and an adventure" is a vastly different question than "What if MLP was anime" which, as I have said before, it already is. Anime is little more than animation created and influenced by Japan. There is absolutely no specific definition for what makes up an anime as there are lighthearted, funny and mystical anime just as much as there is dark, horrific and brooding kinds. If MLP was an anime it wouldn't necessarily change...at all. Like...not even a little.

I have enough depressing stuff in my life, I don't need it in my entertainment. And there are many anime titles that I find just boring as they're just rehashing older stuff with no life of their own.

After watching some of Powerpuff Girls Z, I'm not particularly interested in an anime adaptation of MLP:FiM. Everybody imagines the ponies looking and acting as they do right now, but if a Japanese anime were made of it, I'm sure it would be quite different in many ways, as Powerpuff Girls Z was.

 

Besides, hate to break it to everybody, but I'm pretty sure that FiM has not been received anywhere near as well over there as the Powerpuff Girls was. Unless things changed, I don't know...
