Rainbow Rocks: It's truly outrageous!

I've seen a little bit of mention of this in other places on the internet, but no mention of it here.

 

So were any of you wondering why Rainbow Rocks looks like an 80s Glam Rock throwback? You see, in the 80s there was this show called Jem:

yeah, a while ago I found out Hasbro tries to make a homage to their dead franchise Jem, or an attempt to revive it if RR becomes successful. Either way, I don't see any problem with that

yeah, while I didn't even know that cartoon existed, is pretty cracking they make references to other works

Being a Pup from the 80s, I for one..SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS!!!!

 

Jem was a great listen, Pop in that tape and rock out, right after some Alvin and the Chipmunks, shoot, rolling into the 90s brought even MORE great animated music!

 

I for one, am SOOOOOOO OK, with the Mane6 putting on face paint, rocking out on stage with ears and wild hair. This is a fandom that is supposed to be based on just enjoying every single element that is presented. Every fourth wall break, every refernce to other shows/modern society, and most of all messages that stick with you.

 

I say bring back the 80s/90s, It would be nice if humanity these days went back to that ages mentallity...i swear if i say "Thank you" to someone one-more-time and get a "Sure" "Ya" "Yup" instead of "Your Welcome"......

I think it looks awesome, the movie i mean, dunno if it has anything to do with the gem thingy though, they have similarities, but nothing to close really.

I wasn't into to Jem when it was playing on its first run, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought of it when the RR trailer was revealed.

Strangely enough, Jem played on the Hub in its early years!

The Hub was launched in 2010, that statement makes me feel old

Jem wasn't around for very long though, I think it only went for few weeks on the Hub and then was canceled, for "unknown" reasons.

 

However, Jem is back on the Hub in the early morning hours....I think it started back up last week....(i don't watch tv)

Considering that Hasbro owns the rights to Jem as well, I wouldn't be surprised if Jem made a small guest appearance in Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks with Samantha Newark reprising her role of Jem.
