What happened to Auto Updates?

Ok so, Mlp forums is supposed to update u on nonifacations and stuff, but all of a sudden, now I have to refresh the page. Why is this?

It is a bug that happens every now and then, it is a minor inconvenience that always gets fixed eventually.

I'm fairly certain notifications for new posts in a thread still show up in a bubble saying "There are (number) new replies. Show."

It happens from time to time, I remember another post being made a while back, I don't remember the answer.

I also noticed something weird today, despite today being my second day on the site...the Mozilla browser shows as if it was loading the page constantly (the green spinning icon) and I too have to refresh.
