Abigail turned her attention back to the vulpix, hearing it's annoyance. Abigail looked concerned at it, "what's wrong?" she picked the heart scale up, "didn't you want this?" Abigail pouted, "did you think it was food? I'm sorry, it's just a pretty scale. I can give you some food if you want." She turned back towards her clefairy, "Isabella, would you be a dear and bring us those berries?"

 

The clefairy pouted, but before it could so much as take a step forward, the ground underneath her trembled. Out popped the bunnelby, and it made a grab for the berries. "Ry!" The clefairy held onto the pouch, steeling her grip as best she could. "Hweh? Oh, oh..." Abigail looked at the scene with confusion, "well, I suppose I did tell the bunnelby I would trade it all of the berries in the pouch..."

 

"Okay, stop it you two." Abigail said firmly, leaning forward and putting her hand on the clefairy's head. "Just let the bunnelby have it, Isabella. We did make a deal, after all." The clefairy puffed out its cheeks and had a silent staring match with its trainer. It blinked, and then turned its head away in dejection. "Clef." It loosened its grip on the pouch. "it's alright, we can just find some more berries."

 

Her krabby, on the other hand, had just took 2 kicks to the face. Irritated, it snapped its pincers where it thought the bunnelby was, but only snipped open air. It did its best to squint its eyes, clearly annoyed, and started walking side-ways towards its trainer. It saw the bunnelby that drew its ire, and snapped its pincers at it again, before spewing a few bubbles at it.

 

"Eh? Jeanne, no! Don't do that," Abigail said, flailing her hands about, "erm, that's not exactly the most menacing of attacks anyway, but still. It's rude to blow bubbles in other pokemons' faces!"

 

"Though... if I am to stand up against those scary guys again... perhaps I should try to teach Jeanne something new..."

Phanpy tilted its head at Cubchoo's antics. What an odd pokemon it was. But, nonetheless, Stella had asked Phanpy to make friends with it. Phanpy liked making friends, so this order was one Phanpy particularly wished to complete successfully. Phanpy trumpeted with his trunk again in determination, and took a step onto the ice towards Cubchoo.

 

The ground type slowly walked towards Cubchoo. It wasn't bothered by the ice very much, due to its typing. When Phanpy had reached Cubchoo, it lent its trunk out towards it, waiting for Cubchoo to grab on.

"Eh? Grass type?" Elias questioned, patting Bonsly's head again. The pokemon definitely had a rocky exterior, which last he checked, grass types did not. Not that it mattered anyway. The pokedex entry had said Bonsly liked arid environments. "But my pokedex said..." 

 

The boy was cut off by a sudden cry from a Clefairy. Abigail's, he presumed. Judging by her words, a Bunnelby was making an attempt to steal some berries of hers. Elgyem confirmed this hypothesis. Elias scoffed. She was just going to let a pokemon walk all over her like that? That simply would not be tolerated! "My apologies, Abigail, but I refuse to let a pokemon just obtain what it wants on such bad behaviour. Elgyem!" He said, as Elgyem cautiously floated towards Bunnelby. The psychic type sighed. For someone so flirtatious, Elias certainly didn't understand how the female mind worked. This would certainly make Abigail mad. 

 

Thanks to Clefairy's loosened grip, Elgyem was able to levitate the berries away from the fairy. It held them near Abigail in an attempt to give them back. "Now, Psybeam!" Elgyem nodded before firing a multicolored beam of energy at Bunnelby.

((Yes, but remember, that was Bagon's 2nd dragon dance.  He started the battle with one too ))

 

"Bagon, be careful!  Sleep Talk!"  This time Bagon didn't seem to do anything - perhaps Sleep Talk had failed.  After a couple moments his eyes start to open, just in time for the Icy Wind to strike him.  Rolling backwards from the strike, Bagon starts to sit upright before a clump of hail strikes him on the head.  Looking rather dizzy, Bagon falls backwards before Clair recalls him to his Pokeball.

 

"Bagon is unable to battle!"

 

"Dratini, make this quick.  Into the water!"  As the Pokeball opens, the same Dratini that had faced off against Stella the day before takes the field.  It immediately dives into one of the holes in the arena floor, disappearing into the scalding water to avoid the effects of the cold hail.  Clair crosses her arms across her chest as she tries to make sense of the battlefield once Dratini had gone beneath the water - with the hot steam from the water meeting the frigid hail that Glaceon had conjured, it was turning the field into a mess of a haze.  Even without an ability like snow cloak, visibility would be hampered for anything fighting on the field for now.

Cubchoo tilts its head slightly while looking at Phanpy.  It wasn't sure what the ground type was doing, but it was willing to play along.   It leans forward to grab on to Phanpy's trunk, falling forward onto its belly as it does, but managing to grab his trunk anyways.

Bunnelby's eyes go wide as the not-quite-unexpected attacks came after it, leaping out of its hole to try and avoid the Psybeam and Bubbles.  Now it was in an actual battle, out numbered, and even worse...  Without its loot!  Dropping to all fours, Bunnelby starts to run around the group at a quick pace, using Agility.  It would just have to show these trainers and their Pokemon a lesson, and then take the prizes afterwards!  Abruptly changing directions, it bounds up towards Elegym and jumps towards the psychic type, attempting to tackle it into the Krabby.

 

As this was going on, Vulpix had sat down next to Abigail and was watching the scene with a bit of amusement.  It still had one paw on the Heart Scale - it may not have wanted it anymore, but that didn't mean it wanted Bunnelby to take it.

As Drilbur starts to swipe at Nidoran, she puffs her spines and ears out again before shimmering briefly.  Suddenly there would be two of them, and when Drilbur swipes at one of them, the Double Team image just shimmers briefly.  In retaliation Nidoran fires a number of small quills towards Drillbur with a Poison Sting attack.

Kaleb smirks a little, rubbing at the back of his neck.  "Cocky one, huh?  Sheesh, some of the others will like you...  Anyways, hope for your sake that little bit of confidence doesn't cost ya."  He brings his free hand up and snaps his fingers before calling out towards his Pokemon.  "Slowbro, time to start the clock."  "Sloooo"  Slowbro opens up his mouth, and suddenly a number of light purple beams fly from its mouth to attempt and seek out Galvantula.  Slowbro had used Toxic.

The action of Cubchoo falling forward then grabbing onto Phanpy caused Phanpy, and hopefully Cubchoo as well, to be pushed back to the ground that wasn't quite so icy. Phanpy trumpeted his trunk in amusement. This ice was fun! But he couldn't get too distracted. Stella had asked him to do something.

 

Phanpy took a few steps backwards, and motioned for Cubchoo to follow.

Before Elgyem was able to be pushed into Krabby, it used Protect, therefore remaining completely unharmed by the move. Elgyem then began to shroud itself in a blue light, using Cosmic Power. Elias gritted his teeth, then pushed a hand through his hair as to attempt to hide his obvious frustration. I can't tell what's going on when there's not a trainer calling the shots. I guess I'll have to leave this up to Elgyem... That's a bad plan isn't it? He thought, before pointing a finger at his pokemon, temporarily forgetting he was still holding Bonsly. "Elgyem, make sure Bunnelby can't attack." He said. Elgyem nodded. The command was vague, in other words meaning "do whatever you want", while also giving the illusion that Elias knew what was happening.

 

Elgyem fired another Psybeam at Bunnelby. Hopefully this one would do some damage.

Jason could barely see what was happening, but when the announcer called out that Bagon was beaten he felt relieved. He heard Clair send out her Dratini and ordered it to dive into the water. Jason remained silent since he could not see his own pokemon. However, he did not worry. He had trained Lumi for situations like these, he knew she could even battle effectively without his input.

 

Lumi remained hidden in the haze of snow and steam. She was used to seeing low visibility but the steam mixed with the hail was difficult, even for her. She did her best to keep an eye on each of the holes that lead into the water; ready to strike with an ice shard when anything appeared.

Both Sable and Galvantula put on a confused look as neither had seen an attack such as this. "Err...Dodge it?" Sable says unsure of what to do, maybe letting Kaleb attack first was a mistake. Galvantula quickly tries outrun the Toxic beams and dodge them, but it seems the spider (or Sable) didn't think quick enough as it was hit by the attack and became poisoned, shuddering slightly upon impact. "Huh, that didn't really seem to do that much harm." Sable says both relived and a bit confused. "Alright, Galvantula counter with a Signal Beam." Galvantula, who was now a faint purple, did as such and fired a multicolored beam at the Slowbro.

"Dril?" Drilbur says confused. Just how did Nidoran do that? Unfortunately Drilbur didn't ave time to find out as Nidoran shot several poisonous barbs at the mole Pokemon. "Dri dri!" Drilbur cries out before instinctively using Dig to burrow underground. "Oh uh...Good job Drilbur!" Cilla calls out into the hole. "See if you can come up under Nidoran!" Soon there was a lump of dirt that moved towards Nidoran. Said lump disappears for a moment before suddenly bursting out under the poison type.

"E-Elias?" Abigail uttered when at Elias's and his elgyem's actions. She grabbed the pouch of berries tentatively, not certain of how to react to the situation. "It's true that the bunnelby was acting poorly, but then again, a deal's a deal. Should I try to stop them? But, well, Elias is just doing what he thinks is right. Besides, how would I get them to stop fighting anyway? How am I supposed to handle this?"

 

She looked at the vulpix that had sat beside her, "um, isn't it normal for trainers to fight wild pokemon, after all?" She petted the vulpix on the head, "I suppose some pokemon are friendly enough, but others are more hostile. Perhaps sometimes you have to fight? I dunno... being a trainer is turning out more complex than I thought it would be..." 

 

Abigail grabbed an empty pokeball she had stored in her new backpack, and considered the wild vulpix, "hmm... well, it seems nice and friendly. Perhaps it would like to come along with us?" She set the pokeball in front of the vulpix, "hey, little one. Um, I know we just met, but I'd really like to be your friend. So, why not come along with me? If you want to, that is." She pointed to the button on the front of the device, "if so, all you have to do is press that." She smiled at the vulpix, awaiting its response.

 

Meanwhile, her krabby and clefairy were contending with the wild bunnelby. The krabby continued to snap its pincers angrily at the bunnelby, but it should've realized the thing was moving around far too fast for it to actually get caught in the vice grip. The clefairy, however, was still annoyed at the bunnelby for trying to take her food. However, its notice seemed to be directed entirely on the meddle-some elgyem. She clapped her hands and called out "-ry! Clefairy! Clefairy!" It pointed at itself and stuck its tongue out at the bunnelby, using her follow-me technique to direct its attention to her.

Cubchoo tilts its head when Phanpy motions to follow him, carefully standing upright.  "Cub?"  With nothing else to do, and curious about what the ground type wanted, Cubchoo starts following after Phanpy.

 "Dratini, stay down and sweep the field with Dragonbreath.  Clear the haze."  Dratini brings her head out of one of the holes leading to the water but doesn't come out completely, just enough to line up her mouth with the floor of the arena.  A blast of a green colored energy fires out of her mouth and she quickly turns her head to sweep the Dragonbreath back and forth before diving back under the water.  A little bit later she would pop up from a different surface and repeat the process, hoping to both hit Lumi and cut through some of the impairing weather at the same time.

"Slowbro, protect."  Slowbro doesn't move to even try to get out of the way of the signal beam, instead deflecting it with a glowing force field.  "Slooow?"  "You know the drill by now...  Substitute."  Slowbro shimmers briefly before seeming to disappear.  After just a second of delay a copy of the Pokemon appears where it had been standing.  "Good, now heal it off with Slack Off."  

 

"Sheesh Kaleb, you even BATTLE lazy!"

 

"Why waste the effort when I don't need to?  Toxic will do all the work for us..."

Vulpix tilts its head and looks at the Pokeball, contemplating Abigail's offer.  She had seemed nice enough - even if the Heart Scale had been disappointing, she had helped it get it.  Looking from the Pokeball up to Abigail, Vulpix reaches out with one paw to swat the button of the Pokeball.

 

 

 

Vulpix.  The Fox Pokemon.  While young, it has six gorgeous tails.  When it grows, several new tails are sprouted.

 Gender:  Male                OT:  Abigail                           Mild Nature / Somewhat vain  (Affects RP, not battle)

Knows Ember, Quick Attack, Roar, and Confuse Ray.  Can be taught Feint Attack, Flame Burst, Will-O-Wisp, and Hex with training.

While this was happening, Bunnelby had just taken a psybeam to the face and was sent rolling along the ground.  It jumped back up, rubbing its face with its ears and getting ready for round two, when it noticed Clefairy's taunting gestures.  Grinding its teeth a little, Bunnelby suddenly starts to dig another hole in the ground.  A little while later the ground under Isabella would burst open with Bunnelby coming out of it feet-first, trying to get a surprise Double Kick off on the fairy.

Nidoran is knocked into the air by the dig attack and sent rolling a short distance, coming to a stop and looking rather dazed and dizzy.  She doesn't move to make a counter attack, seemingly still disoriented by the attack and vulnerable for capture.

Galvantula glares at Slowbro as it uses Protect and makes a copy of itself with Substitute before flinching from the poison damage. "So you wanna play that game, huh?" Sable says to herself quietly. "Use Signal Beam once more on the substitute then see if you can trap the real Slowbro with Spider Web!" the giant spider nods and quickly takes care of the copy with Signal Beam before firing a barrage of webbing at Slowbro, hopefully trapping it long enough to get an attack off.

"Great job Drilbur!" Cilla says happily. She then takes out a Pokeball and throws it at Nidoran, putting a slight spin on the ball as she throws it.

Jason watched as the Dratini began to clear up the haze with dragon breath. Soon enough Jason spotted Lumi. It looked like she was playing some sort of twisted whack-a-mole; every time Clair's Dratini pops up to use dragon breath, Lumi would send a volley of ice shards towards it. Unfortunately the ice was not quite fast enough; the Dratini managed to avoid every single volley so far while Lumi has taken a hit or two of the dragon breath. Thankfully it did not look like she had been too badly injured or paralyzed.

 

Lumi fired another volley of ice shards as Clair's Dratini poked its head through another of the holes on the floor to use dragon breath which cleared even more of the haze. The ice missed as the Dratini once again ducked into the water avoid the attack completely. She tried icy wind but to the same effect. Nothing seemed to strike the Dratini quick enough. Jason looked worried, he was unsure if Joltik could handle Dratini if Lumi did not succeed. "Come on Lumi, you can do this. The hail is still there. Use it to your advantage." He encouraged his Pokemon breaking his silence during the battle.

Lumi retreated into the fading hailstorm; once again disappearing from view. Once back inside she avoided the next dragon breath of Dratini before renewing the hail, causing it to increase in intensity. The freezing winds blowing swiftly around her gave her an idea. Lumi once again readied another icy wind, but this time she also channeled the power and strength of the hail around her. It took all her effort but Lumi managed to control the strong winds while taking another hit of Dratini's dragon breath. After several more exhausting moments of building up the attack Lumi released it, timing the attack just as the Dratini popped up for another attack, causing a wave of frost, ice, and hail to wash over the arena. Lumi had learned how use blizzard. Unfortunately her first blizzard lacked control; the blizzard continued to expand as it neared the edge of the arena where Jason and Clair were standing. Though the intensity of the blizzard was weaker it still looked very threatening.

Jason did not expect an attack of this magnitude and he quickly stepped in front of his Joltik and turned his back towards the incoming Blizzard. Jason felt the temperature around him drop and the world turned white, but it passed after a few seconds leaving his black jacket coated with frost. Thankfully most of the hail and sharp ice lost their velocity before hitting any of the bystanders. His Joltik looked perfectly fined though a bit chilled. Jason himself was alright, he was used to the cold and did not mind it that much. What worried him was the state Clair, Allen and the other spectators were in. He turned back towards the battlefield.

Lumi stood where she was, the hail around her was dispersed by her attack. She was too exhausted to do anything else, leaving her open to attack. (If the Dratini is still able to battle.)

Phanpy cried out happily, then led the Cubchoo to Stella. This pokemon seemed to have quite the... interesting personality. Not one Phanpy particularly liked, but that was alright. Once the two had arrived, Phanpy looked to be beaming. It had finally done something right, after all. Phanpy hadn't exactly helped manners much up to this point.

 

Stella said nothing for a second, causing Phanpy to worry. Had he not done his job right? However, her silence was really more of a loss of words. This just had to be the cutest pokemon of all time! Plus, it could help her defeat Clair! Instead of fangirling aloud like her mind currently was, Stella took a deep breath, and knelt in front of the Cubchoo. "Hai there!" She said, in an overly chipper voice, then tried to pat the Cubchoo on the head.

"Alright, Psybeam again!" Elias commanded his pokemon, who looked around frantically for Bunnelby. Elias clearly didn't know what was going on. When Bunnelby did reappear, it was right near Clefairy. That was a shot Elgyem wasn't exactly comfortable taking. So, it shot the Psybeam a bit away from both Bunnelby and Clefairy. The idea was to skim Bunnelby, hopefully knocking it away, but leave Clefairy unharmed. Whether the tactic would work or not was anyone's guess.

 

When Elias heard the attack hit something, he tilted his head slightly. That had seemed to take a long time. Wait. Wouldn't now be a good time to catch the thing? Surely it would! But how would he go about this? Abigail was nearby, so if he just threw the ball randomly she'd think him an idiot. A blind idiot, to be precise. "Eh. Elgyem!" Elias yelled, pulling an empty pokeball out and throwing it at his own pokemon. Elgyem picked the ball up, and tilted it's head. "Bunnelby simply can't combat the ball with you maneuvering it, right? So, try catching the thing."

 

Elgyem looked at the pokeball with a confused expression for a bit, then tried to hit Bunnelby with it. Should it succeed, Elgyem would try holding it shut as well. That might help.

As the substitute breaks, Slowbro doesn't even try to move out of the way of the spider web.  In fact it barely seems to notice it, as the Pokemon hadn't moved all that much from its original position.  "No big deal, just wait for the next attack and use Protect again."  "Sloowww."

The Pokeball strikes Nidoran and she's quickly pulled inside of it.  The ball shakes a few times before clicking shut - Nidoran had been caught!

 

 

 

Nidoran?.  The Poison Pin Pokemon.  Although small, its venomous barbs render this Pokemon dangerous.  The female has smaller horns.

Clair had grabbed her cape and brought it up to shield her face as the Blizzard ran out of control, and gritting her teeth she managed to shove it back with enough force to break the layer of frost that had formed over it.  She immediately starts looking out over the battlefield, trying to find the state of her Dratini.

 

The steam was back - as to be expected with a blizzard that large meeting the volcanic waters.  She hoped that the waters had been enough to shield Dratini - if the dragon had been above the surface when that had gone off, there was no way she would still be able to battle.  "Dratini!"

 

A small thud could be heard, the sound of Dratini's tail breaking apart the thin layer of ice that had managed to form even over the scalding water.  A short while later Dratini crawled back into the arena.  She didn't look as fit as she had before, but at least the scalding water HAD shielded her to some extent.  The dragon was already starting to shed its skin to get rid of the burns, having stayed down in the water longer than normal.  

 

Upon seeing the outline of her Dratini in the steam, Clair allowed herself a small smile.  Blackthorn was near the Ice Path, she was used to trainers thinking an Ice type Pokemon would make an easy match against her.  She still had one trick left to play to counter the Glaceon, however.  "Dratini, use Wrap.  Drag her into the water."

"Cub?"  Cubchoo tilts its head as it looks up at Stella, not seeming to react when she pats it on the head.  Then Cubchoo sneezes, falling down on its rear again.  Sniffling once it looks back up at Stella, looking from her to Phanpy and back again.  It still didn't seem to understand what was going on...  But at least everyone seemed friendly.

 Bunnelby had been focused on Clefairy still, and as such it had been a simple matter to hit it with the Pokeball.  While the Pokeball shook vigorously a number of times, eventually it clicked closed.  Bunnelby had been caught.

 

 

 

Bunnelby.  The Digging Pokemon.  It has ears like shovels.  Digging holes strengthens its ears so much that they can sever thick roots effortlessly.

When Cubchoo fell over, Stella could no longer control herself. She had been trying to remain as calm as possible, as to not frighten the pokemon, but this was too much. She quickly picked up the Cubchoo and spun around once, letting out a soft squee. A sound Phanpy tilted its head to. "Ah! You're absolutely adorable!" She exclaimed, her movements stopping. "You simply must come with me!" Stella normally would let a pokemon decide for itself whether it would like to come with her or not. But this was time for exception. She couldn't let something this cute get away so easily. Stella pulled out a pokeball, and gently tapped Cubchoo on the head with it.

Elgyem cautiously picked up the pokeball when it had stopped shaking. The psychic type wasn't fully sure if the Bunnelby had been captured. Perhaps it was just faking it out. Fortunately, this was not the case. Elgyem dropped the ball into Elias' only free hand, as the other one was still holding Bonsly, who had been oddly quiet during the whole ordeal.

 

"Ah, yes. And now everyone remains unharmed. Most excellent. I would hate for a pokemon owned by such a beautiful young lady to be hur-" Elias cut himself off as he had been talking. He just realized that he had caught a pokemon who would dare not listen to him. Furthermore, if it didn't listen to him and used a move he didn't know was in use, his calls would be all off. Elias most certainly wouldn't look very competent telling a Bunnelby who was underground to use Agility. "Ah... whatever." He said, not bothering to state what he had been thinking. 

 

Elias then turned his attention to Abigail. "So I guess this means you can catch that Vulpix now, right?" He said, in an unusually happy tone. Elias clearly didn't know that Vulpix was now inside a pokeball. Again, the whole blind thing. "I hope after that's done you'll help me find a suitable environment for this Bonsly here."

Lumi tried to avoid the Dratini's wrap but her attempt at dodging was too delayed. Before she knew it Clair's Dratini was wrapped tight around her and she was being dragged towards the nearest hole. Lumi used bite on the Dratini wrapped around her desperately trying to brake free, but it did not seem to have any effect. The hole neared and she made one last attempt by cooling the air around her in an attempt to use icy wind. Before she could even finish the attack the Dratini had managed to pull her in. "Lumi!" The last thing she heard before entering the scalding water was Jason calling out her name.

Jason almost had stepped into the arena to help Lumi as the Dratini dragged her into the hole. He knew Clair wouldn't let her Dratini drown Lumi but his Glaceon would most certainly be out of this fight. He looked towards his Joltik. "You think you can take the Dratini on?" He asked the Joltik. The Joltik responded by nodding his small head enthusiastically; determined to win the battle.

Lumi felt the burning water as she was dragged under by Clair's Dratini. Even through all what was happening Lumi did her best not to panic and just continued using bite on the Dratini wrapped around her. However, she was already tired and weak from using blizzard and after a couple more seconds the biting stopped. The last thing Lumi saw before blacking out was the light shining through the hole that she had fell in.

Sable growled at Kaleb's nonchalant response. Though in retrospect, trying to keep an opponent that wasn't moving very much from moving may have been a little dumb. "Try to lay down some Electrowebs around Slowbro, maybe we can give the other webs a charge." Galvantula took a moment to respond. The pain was getting worse and now she was getting a bit disoriented. Hopefully her Compound Eyes ability would compensate for her lack of concentration as she shot a few Electrowebs at Slowbro. Sable hoped that by electrifying the normal Spider Webs that were touching Slowbro she would be able to hurt him even if he used Protect.

"Great job Drilbur!" Cilla said as she picked up Nidoran's Pokeball. Espeon also gave Drilbur a small smile. She couldn't wait to see the look on Elgeym's face when Cilla came back with a Nidoran while Eilas was stuck with a simple Bonsly, assuming he was even able to catch it in the first place. Cilla returned Drilbur and started walking back to where she assumed Abigail and Elias would be. "Ah, there are you are." She said when she arrived. "I'm sorry about leaving like that., Espeon ran off for some reason. But I did catch a happy little Nidoran!" Cilla says happily with Nidoran's ball in her hand. "Is everyone ready to head to Ecruteak?" she asks.

"Hmm?" Abigail mummered in response to Elias, her mind mostly focused on reading the new pokedex entry for her vulpix. "Beautiful young lady? Where?" Abigail asked, maintaining her complete obliviousness. While it should of been obvious that Elias was flirting with her, Abigail simply couldn't conceive of such. Why would a guy hit on her, after all? She thought it obvious that it would be absurd for a guy to try such, though the reasons for such were very much not obvious to anyone else.

 

Abigail's head perked up upon hearing Cilla, however, "ah! That's who," she reasoned, erroneously. "Well, yeah, I'm ready. But Elias here said he needed to do something... but I'm still not sure I understand what."

 

"Oh, and uh... I just got this vulpix, see?" She held out the pokeball triumphantly to the other two, showing it off proudly.

"Uh..." Elias began, about to explain the concept of flirting to Abigail. She was a bit daft, wasn't she? Though this daftness did make her adorable, it also made it extremely hard to get any closer to her. He'd have to find a way to change that in the near future.

 

Before Elias could explain his words, Cilla entered the fray. Good. All of them were together again. "Ah. You needn't worry, Cilla! I needed to follow my Elgyem anyway." Though Elias said this in his normal charming voice, he had actually been a bit upset that both of the girls had left. No matter, it wasn't really an issue. "And, well, I'm ready to go to Ecruteak, but I fear this Bonsly may be lost!" As he said this, Elias held up Bonsly in front of his face, despite how pointless such an endeavor was. "A rock type like this should live in an arid place after all! But I'd hate to keep you two waiting..."

 

Elias thought for a second. The boy surely didn't wish to be any more of a burden on the two. "Ah! I know! How about I catch you, then release you when we come across a suitable environment?" Elias asked, pulling out a pokeball and tapping Bonsly's head with it.

 When Stella taps Cubchoo on the head with the Pokeball, it's quickly sucked inside.  The ball shakes for a few times before clicking shut.  Cubchoo had been caught!

 

 

 

Cubchoo.  The Chill Pokemon.  Their snot is a barometer of health.  When healthy, their snot is sticky and the power of their ice moves increases.

As soon as Lumi stopped resisting Dratini dragged her back out of the water, leaving her on the arena where Jason could recall her before moving back across the arena to Clair's side.  She seemed to be taking this small pause while Jason switched Pokemon to catch her breath - the little dragon wasn't out of the fight, but she did look quite worn down after fighting the Glaceon.

Slowbro's Protect came up as the Electrowebs fell around it, stopping them from striking it directly.  However the electrified webs did manage to hit the spider webs all around it, conducting the electricity into Slowbro.  "Sloooow!"  "Slowbro, use Substitute to get out of the webs, then use Slack Off!"  The pained Pokemon shimmered for a second before another copy of it took its place in the electrified webs, and a short distance away Slowbro sat down...  Seemingly doing nothing as its wounds started to heal.

"Bon!?"  The slightly paranoid Bonsly tried to kick its feet to run away as Elias brought the Pokeball near it, but was unable to escape before he had tapped it on the head.  Bonsly was sucked into the Pokeball and it shook a couple times before clicking to signal the capture.

 

 

 

Bonsly.  The Bonsai Pokemon.  It prefers an arid atmosphere.  It leaks water that looks like tears when adjusting its moisture level.

Jason unclipped Lumi's pokeball from his belt. "You did good." He whispered as he recalled Lumi. The beam of red light struck the unconscious Glaceon and brought her back into the ball.

"You're up Joltik. Go show that Dratini who's boss. Go lead with a thunder wave and electroweb. Space them apart slightly so that it is hard to avoid both attacks. Be careful and don't worry about the outcome; just do your best." Jason instructed his Joltik. "Jolt Joltik!" The Joltik entered the arena as Jason finished instructing, already releasing the thunder wave and shortly after firing several electrowebs. The attacks were spread out in such a way that even if the Dratini dodges one the second will most probably hit.

Jason momentarily turned his attention away from the battle and pulled out a potion from his pack. He sent out Lumi next to him and applied the potion to her. After a few more moments Lumi regained her consciousness and weakly stood next to Jason. 
"You did amazing out there Lumi. I couldn't of asked for a better performance." Jason commended Lumi as he knelt down and stroked her ears. "Glaci." Lumi replied with a bit of disappointment in her tone. Jason gave her another reassuring stroke which seemed to of made her feel a bit better. The two returned their attention to the battle as the Joltik's attack neared Clair's Dratini.

"Quick, fire another Signal Beam!" Sable yells immediately after Kaleb gave his command. Galvantula hesitates once again before flinching. It seems the Toxic was really taking it toll but the spider shot at Slowbro nonetheless, completely ignoring the Substitute. "He can't keeping healing forever..." Sable thought has she tries to come up with a new plan.

"Why that's wonderful, Abigail!" Cilla says after seeing Vulpix's Pokeball. "I had a Vulpix back in Unova, they are the cutest things. We should try and find a Fire Stone as soon as possible, Ninetales is a fantastic Pokemon. she says. "Well then if everyone is ready, lets go to Ecruteak, yes?" Cilla says walking away. As Espeon follows her trainer she glares at Elgyem for a moment before swiftly turning her head away in disgust. "I hear there's a group of beautiful Kimono Girls who preform in the city. Maybe we should stop by there first." While Cilla did want to see one of the Kimono Girls' shows, she had also heard that these women befriended and tested the boy who defeated Team Rocket the second time. Maybe they would have some clue as to what was going on or how to stop these new 'Storm' guys.

Stella giggled in delight. And with that, the cutest pokemon in all of existence was hers! Cubchoo might have been a pokemon that grossed out some with it's somewhat sickly nature, but Stella certainly didn't think so. In fact, such a sickly nature only added to the cuteness. She wanted to take care of it, after all. 

 

Phanpy trumpeted his trunk as the ball stayed shut. Looks like they had been successful. However, his happy expression faded somewhat as Stella returned him to his pokeball. Sure, there was a good reason for that - the floor was very slippery after all - but he still wanted to help her more. Oh well.

 

"Alright, Cubchoo! Let's go!" Stella said, summoning her newest catch. The ice type looked around lazily, very much so confused to what had just happened. Had it just been caught by this girl? "Since you know this place better than anyone, how about you help us explore, ok Cubchoo? I think there might just be cool stuff around." The girl asked cheerily. Cubchoo tilted its head. She was currently being held by the trainer, and could do no more than point. Plus, she hadn't even been very far in the cave before. So, Cubchoo lifted her paw slightly towards the deeper part of the cave. "Alright. That way it is. Looks dark, though. Helioptile, let's go!" With a flash of light, Helioptile was summoned, perched on top of Stella's shoulder.

 

"Heli..." Helioptile groaned. She was a bit upset about the previous battle. But, she had been asked to do something. Best do it. Helioptile let out a sigh, and began to glow.

 

The light produced by Helioptile wasn't exactly needed, as the cave was not nearly as dark as the one Stella had caught both Axew and Gyarados in. So, Helioptile glowed very dimly, allowing her to look around as well. One of the things Helioptile noticed was a gleaming light coming from a hole. There looked to be claw marks leading to it too. Helioptile curiously hopped off of Stella's shoulder, and carefully walked towards the hole, trying to get at what was inside. Stella didn't seem to notice. She was far too enthralled with Cubchoo's adorableness.

Elias put away Bonsly's pokeball in his bag. He'd have to find a suitable place for it as soon as possible. The struggling it had seemed to have done probably meant the pokemon wasn't all that happy with the arrangements. Oh well.

 

"Well, while we're on the subject of caught pokemon, I have caught a Bunnelby and Bonsly, I suppose." Elias said, quite indifferently. Bunnelby would be too hard to control, and Bonsly was only temporary. He'd have to continue to avoid battles in the meantime. "Though I'm sure they pale in comparison to pokemon drawn to beautiful women like yourselves."

 

Elgyem sighed at his trainer's second remark. He really was hopeless. So hopeless, the psychic type was forced to look away for a second. This motion caused him to lay eyes on Espeon, glaring at him, then turning away in disgust. "Elg?" Elgyem asked, confused. Was the pink one still mad at him? She had scared him! What a meanie.

 

Cilla's next question caused Elias' face to go blank for a second, before he swiftly reverted to his normal expression, though it appeared to be a tad panicked. This, was a slight problem. Kimono girls? They dance. Which is nice and all, but you know. Blind. I can't watch. What if they ask me what I thought of the performance? What am I to say? Elias thought, covering his face slightly as to hide any obvious panic. But, if I say no, they'll know there has to be a reason! And then they'll know! ...I guess I'll have to just wing it, then." 

 

Elias quickly perked up, running the hand that had been on his face swiftly through his hair. "That sounds like a great idea!" He said, overly chipper. It was clear he was lying, though hopefully the girls wouldn't pick up on that.

"Hmm..." Abigail hummed to herself in contemplation. "But, Cilla..." She was about to remind Cilla of what they needed to do, but then she remembered that Elias knew nothing about it. So, she bounded over to Cilla and whispered to her, "should we really take the time to do that? I mean... y'know? Shouldn't we be more worried about learning more about that thing from Morty?" Abigail pouted in concern. While the diversion with the vulpix was pleasant, her mind couldn't help but be drawn back to the urgency of the situation. She felt like she was responsible for them wasting enough time already, since she was the one who convinced Cilla to wait until this day to set out.

 

She realized she was being uncharacteristically gloomy in front of these two, and so she bounded back, a smile on her face. "Oh, but it does sound nice, though. I would actually love to see such a dance!"

 

She looked at the pokeball in her hand, "oh! I should probably get my new friend out and about!" She summoned the vulpix from the pokeball. It looked up at it's new trainer expectantly, "vul?" Abigail smiled down at the fox-pokemon, "alright, I suppose you should have a proper name! How about... Alonzo Allender? Hmm?" "Vuuul!" The vulpix cried out in approval. She bent down and petted it on the head, "pix..." She picked it up, and the vulpix scampered up onto her left shoulder, digging its claws into the padded strap of her backpack to help maintain balance.

 

Her other two pokemon came up to her, and Abigail picked up her krabby. "Alright, looks like we're already to go! To Ecrutek!" "Vul!" She started to skip along to the end of the route, but stopped herself to look back at the other trainers, "oh, um, sorry, started charging forward on my own again, heh heh. C'mon, you two!"

"Oof!" "Growwww..." Alery woke up to find himself laying face first on the ground, backside in the air. He let out another groan as his bag fell on top of his head. Al had just been sitting in a tree, looking at the stars. He must have fallen asleep. Shrugging, Alery stood up and stretched, while Vulcan tried to get up as well. A quick look at the sun made Al rush to grab his things and change his clothes. "Aw man! I was supposed to be going to Ecruteak with Abigail and... Cilla? Yea that sounds right! They probably already headed out! I hope they're not too far!"  Alery ran off as quick as he could, while Vulcan tried to chase after him with his trainer's bag in his mouth. Man that thing is heavy!

Alery had taken off his leather jacket and had put on a maroon v-neck identical to the one he wore the day previous. He had also changed into khaki colored shorts. Once his Growlithe had caught up to him, he had thanked the Pokemon and put the bag on. Now, he was on his way to find his two... friends(?), which thankfully didn't take long. "Abigail, Cilla! I'm so sorry I'm late! Vulcan didn't wake me up!" "Grow!" "What do you mean 'it's always your fault'!? Whatever, we're not going to do this here! Oh hey who's this!"

"Dratini, take the thunder wave, don't let electroweb hit!  Retaliate with Dragonbreath!"  Dratini did as she was instructed, wincing as she dove through the thunder wave to get out of the way of the electric webs.  As the small dragon got out of the way of Electroweb she opened her mouth to fire a Dragonbreath towards Joltik, her skin starting to shed again due to her Shed Skin ability trying to get rid of the paralysis.

"Protect, follow it up with Slack Off again."  The Signal Beam hits Slowbro's force field as Protect springs up at the last second, before the Pokemon starts to heal again.  Kaleb hides another yawn behind his hand before turning his gaze towards Sable, a bored look on his face.  "Is that all you've got?  Slowbro can keep this up all day...  Your spider can't."

As Helioptile came closer, it would be able to see that the light was being reflected off of a shiny heart-shaped object.  However just before Helioptile would have been able to reach the Heart Scale, it would suddenly be swiped away by a clawed hand.  The Sneasel glared at Helioptile for a moment before grinning, and suddenly a blast of Icy Wind would fire out of the Sneasel's den.

-----Route 37-----

 

Route 37 is a fairly small Route leading up towards Ecruteak.  It's mostly covered in forests, with a couple small ledges making travel just slightly inconvenient.  Ecruteak City lies towards the north, with Route 36 to the south.

 

A wild Noctowl could be seen sleeping in the upper branches of one of the trees, with a couple Hoothoot nesting near it.  A Pidgeotto was flying in circles through the air, as though watching for something it could grab for breakfast.  Multiple bug types could be seen moving around in the brush - Caterpie and Weedle primarily.  One particularly large tree seemed to be shaking every now and then, and a loud buzzing could be heard from that area.

 

A loud battle could be heard coming from behind some bushes.  A herd of Stantler could be seen between the trees, a couple of Deerling mixed in with the larger Pokemon.

Helioptile gasped softly as she promptly received a harsh, freezing wind current to the face. She had barely noticed Sneasel, but rather the scale. She needed one of those. Helioptile needed to get stronger, and with that she could, correct? So, she'd have to pry it away. "Heli..." Helioptile warned the Sneasel. Her head then began to glow brightly, firing a weak pulse of electricity at the ice type. Thunder Wave, to be precise. Hopefully that would paralyze the annoyance, so she could cleanly take the scale away.

"Hmmm...?" Elias mumbled to himself as he heard footsteps approaching, followed by a voice. The group had basically made it to route 37, but it seemed someone else had appeared. Judging by the words he said, the boy intended to have traveled with the two girls. Oh joy. Elias should have known the situation was far too good to be true. No use crying over spilled milk, however. "The name is Elias. Pleasure to meet you." He said, bowing slightly as to avoid eye contact.

 

Meanwhile, Elgyem had wondered off again. It saw no need in accompanying his trainer while he was talking. So, the psychic type looked for pokemon that might actually be of use to his trainer. The first thing Elgyem came across that looked viable was a pink, deer-like pokemon. It hovered in front of the pokemon's face. "Elg...?" It asked it, trying to confirm if the Deerling was friendly or not.
