Twinkfeather 54 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 y'know there is one thing that really irks me about this whole celestia and luna thing how do we know they are actually moving the celestial bodies? all we have to support this is their claim to be doing so
Sir Xarthas VI 470 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 We wouldn't stand a chance. Extremely well precised flight (and flight speed) and Alicorn's could easily dodge bullets, planes, tanks, and heat-seeking missiles, even the most maneuverable ones. And if the Alicorns used their shields, then we'd really be screwed. I'm pretty sure their shields act like protective barriers AND act as a large personal gas mask. A nuclear strike wouldn't do shite as long as there was a shield guarding everyone. And asafew other people said, quite a large number of the US Military are actually Bronies, and they all do have their own minds, so I'm guessing about 23% to 62% of our Military would probably swap over. And about 70% to 85% after seeing that their bullets, explosives, and anything else don't do anything. Sir Xarthas VI 470 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 you underestimate the power chain of command has over personal views and you overestimate the number of bronies as well as alicorn strength Actually I just see logic. I don't base any debate over personal opinion. And actually I know quite a few people in the US Military. And form their personal experiences, and from what I've learned through many years of researching random things (I do that a lot), I've found the US Military's chain of command isn't very strong compared to, say, Britain's Military. I might overestimate the number of Bronies, but I think you underestimate Alicorn strength. They have access to Time Travel, massively Destructive Spells, and highly effective Defense Spells. At least I'm assuming they have those in the secure portion of the Canterlot library. If I'm wrong and they don't have those spells, maybe. But I'm basing my point on the fact that they more than likely do have those scrolls of spells hidden somewhere in there that they could easily access. Hive King 2,001 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 Unicorn abilities: Shields, energy weapons, telekinesis, teleportation, phase through solid matter, trans-mutate other matter. Can generate 740 quadrillion tons of force via telekinesis (enough to move the moon) and generate 3.8 decatillion joules of power (amount of kinetic energy to move the moon) from their horns (though it is probably greater since we do not know how much force or energy is needed to move the sun yet). Effective range of powers is 920,960,000 miles (distance between earth and sun). That's funny since Celestia needed to go to Ponyville directly in Lesson Zero to stop the spell. Did it ever occur to you that magic does not scale linearly? Especially when it's outright stated to? Pegasus abilities: manipulate weather to form flood rains, blinding snow, soft ball sized hail, 200 MPH hurricanes, 300 MPH tornadoes, precision lightning strikes, the ability to adjust the scope of this phenomena. Can carry 2000 tons of weight in flight, flight at mach 5 (faster than the BrahMos II, the fastest cruise missile in operation. Only the manned X-15 or the unmanned X-23 aircraft can overtake an alicorn). Of course all these speeds are limited on the premise that the Princesses can't perform a sonic rainboom, which would change things a bit. The princesses are not that fast, Canterlot was perfectly fine in their dogfight and we saw no sonic booms. Again, stop assuming that because someone else can do something, someone else can too Also, their lightning is pathetic. At point blank range it barely singes ponies and doesn't blow out their ear drums Earth pony abilities: Can strike with 32,126 tons of force (amount needed to smash diamond, demonstrated when NMM shattered the EoH, presuming they were made of diamond), can carry (at least) 9-10 tons of weight for extended periods of time (demonstrated by Rarity and Twilight when they carried Tom, presuming he was a sandstone bolder (since this was done by unicorns, it can be implied that earth ponies can carry even heavier)). "Assuming the Elements are made out of Diamond?" First problem right there there, they could be made of brittle rock for all we know. And Earth Pony strength is a myth, RD being able to hoof wrestle AJ to a stand still along with Big Mac struggling to lift a cake and saddle bags proves it Alicorns: Luna also has the dream walking ability. This could be used in a strategic sense, as a means of gathering intelligence, as it seems she can view memories, or as a weapon in psychological warfare, giving soldiers nightmares, disrupting their sleep and unsettling their psyches. The Princesses can use dark magic, the effects on living creatures is still unknown. On the ground at least, it'll generate jagged crystals just about anywhere, impaling and cutting just about anyone. Princess Cadence could totally screw with the entire armed forces and use her magic to make key members, or quite possibly everyone serving, fall hopelessly in love with one another. That'll make focusing on combat or even relaying orders rather challenging. Cadence only unlocks love that is already there, the ponies she used it on were a married couple. The dream walking ability is worthless when you realize the target(Scootaloo) can just kick Luna out of the dream if they want to Conclusion: They can move the sun and the moon to: effect the oceans and screw the navy (and anyone within 100 miles of coastline. Alter plane and missile trajectories via gravitational pull. Luna can block out the sun for eternal night and kill off most surface life via extreme cold within a few years. Celestia can leave the sun out to disrupt sleep patterns, weather patterns, and fry everything to a crisp. Luna could crush everything with the moon or Celestia could incinerate the earth with an oncoming sun. Moving around the Sun and Moon seems to be a very specific spell that can only raise it. We can judge this by the fact that we never saw them setting the Sun and Moon Even without using anything outside of earth's atmosphere or the waking world as a weapon, the princesses still have the US military outmatched in nearly every possible way. Out ranged, out powered (strength, force and energy production wise), out conditioned, out maneuvered, out classed. Out ranged? They still need line of sight to use as seen in Lesson Zero Outpowered? Nightmare Moon's bloodlusted blasts were barely capable of breaking stone apart Outmaneavured? The alicorns fly at sub sonic speeds since we don't see any sonic booms in Canterlot Energy production? Do you think there's a reason why alicorns and unicorns only use the laser beams from their horns and not anythhing else? Perhaps that is the only combat worthy spell? Face it. The US military are fighting gods. That's why I pray to no one Also, Tatzlworm>Discord>Celestia. Is the Tatzlworm a god?! 0_o I'm sure the princesses will kindly accept your unconditional surrender right about now. At which point someone snipes them in the spine 1 "Aren’t we the same? GXPBlast 597 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 (edited) You can try to give some bronies here facts and ask them for proof and they will just make up stuff we have never seen in the show or just over exaggerate whats in the show. As one user said Head Cannons are everywhere, Basically giving them powers or abilities that were never shown in the show in order to make it seem like they will win. Basically this can go with any diehard fan of any show. They will attach themselves so much to a character that any weakness or idea that such character could die or get defeated is unacceptable to them in which they will deny anything that challenges their beloved character. I like the ponies to and I agree that Alicorns are powerful, but I will admit that they are weak to many things. In uncanon fanfics they do have abilities never seen in the show that give them a chance, but when we talk cannon, they don't have a chance. I think @Evil Dragon Master makes it very clear along with other members. The worst the ponies have faced are flying bug pony creatures being changelings that are impailed by tripping and NMM that had a beam strong enough at best to break a boulder. If faced with a bunch of cluster bombs, missiles, bullets, biological, and nukes things that the ponies have never seen or would encounter in their world, they are finished. Until I can see the Alicorns survive such weaponry or something similar to anything the US miltary can put out, I will not be convinced. I'm sure the princesses will kindly accept your unconditional surrender right about now. While you have your force composition values right (more or less), you seem to forget something rather important. That would be the 3rd law of motion. Due to the fact that Equestria obviously does not abide by Newtonian Physics (if it did centripedal forces would tear Pegasi apart the moment they hit about 80mph). So either we are fighting in Equestria, where their powers would actually work and the military would have little chance, or they're here on Earth where conservation of mass/energy laughs at their magic, and the laws of thermodynamics mean that Celestia and friends would be char-broiled (technically baked convection oven style, but whatever) by convective and radiative heat. If they try to teleport, just put the button in a building shorter than the alicorns and post an armed guard.Again, this is taking the wild assumption that alicorns know what firearms and nuclear weapons ARE, which is already a rather extreme stretch of logic.
Freewave 1,145 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 The funny thing is Celestia has hardly won a fight w/o Twilight's help. Closest thing that reminds me to is Worf from Star Trek:NG. Mandizeen 21 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 That depends on how many alicorns there are. We only know 4 alicorns in Equestria so far, and if it was 4 alicorns vs the whole US military would probably military win. Maybe not if they had The Elements of Harmony... Anyway, if there was more than just 4 maybe the alicorns would win. Magic is a very strong weapon.
GXPBlast 597 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 (edited) On a side but somewhat related note. If there was an animated music video of the U.S military destroying the alicorns and wiping out eqestria I think this song from one of my favorite bands would fit quite nicely with the falling of the alicorns empire. Wolf General Alpha 636 March 27, 2014 Share March 27, 2014 Would the Alicorns be in our universe or would we be in theirs?
