I don't think so, for me the Year of Shadow was just a huge coincidence that happened for two reasons:

1: Shadow is as popular as Sonic, other characters from the franchise are loved too but they don't come close to that, Tails and Knuckles in their movie debuts weren't celebrated as Shadow. Shadow was the only one after the 90's to get his own projects, Shadow 2005, the Forces DLC and now the Generations DLC. The others charaters only received their own games in the 90's, and we can't even count them that much, Tails' Skypatrol and Adventure weren't big games, Knuckles Chaotix is more of a, well...a Chaotix game (it's called only "Chaotix" in Japan, that's why the title screen)

2: I think Sonic x Shadow Generations was solely made because of the Sonic Movie 3, Movie 2 already ends with Shadow appearing and Movie 3 was already confirmed for the end of 2024 just a few months later, so Sega of Japan knew very well what they were doing.

Sega needs to release at least one new Sonic console game per year, when they can't, they make a remaster or a collection (I believe Colors Ultimate was meant for 2020, and Origins for 2021, but due to the pandemic, they had to delay both, that's why Origins just awkwardly falls in 2022, the same year we got Frontiers, while 2021 was a much better year to release it as it was the franchise's 30th anniversary)

Shadow Generations was made because of the movie, at least the concept of making another DLC with Shadow, pretty sure Sega knew they wouldn't be able to make a whole new game for 2024, so they had to use a new strategy, one that wasn't another remaster or a collection. I think that if it wasn't for Movie 3, the Sonic console game of 2024 would've been somerthing completely different, maybe a DLC for a different game, or something else, they choose Shadow because of the movie hype, also, I 100% believe that if Movie 3 was supposed for 2025 or 2026, they would've made a full game instead, and not just a DLC for a game released 13 years ago, and release it in 2025 or 2026, while they would've made something else for 2024.

So for all these reasons, I don't think there will be any new "Year of a Sonic Character". Of course I can be completely wrong and maybe they'll make a "Year of Metal Sonic" or "Year of Amy Rose" in 2027 ~☆

Given Twilight's wings and crown, Pinkie Pie's ability to break the forth wall, and RD's Sonic Rainboom bringing the Mane 6 together; AJ, Flutters, and Rare are unfortunately seen as "Background Ponies" by comparison.

Would it be a good idea to draw alicorns colonizing humans and zebras? I am thinking drawing a human pressed against the ground by Emperor Bigpip and a zebra pressed against the soil by Celestia. With the Anocratic empire's flag and Equestrian flag waving on the side?
