I got the analogy! Haha I always imagined it was like… feeling empty.. hollowed and not in control of one’s life as the wind carries us whichever way.

Did I look too deeply into that? Do I just love poetry too much that I apply it to everything? Maybe.

Nice perspective on that! I think... To me, it's rather, peaceful? Like walking down a forest, nice, soothing and calm, maybe a plastic bag drifting away is like that? Although yours seems to fit it more clearly and it seems.... Deep.

Ohh I like that! Yeah. I remember in meditation, someone once advised words like "Don't be alarmed by what I am going to say, it is not negative. It just helps with meditation."

And they kept repeating, "I am nothing. I am empty. I am nothing." And they did not necessarily mean it in a negative way, just a way to release and go with the flow and feel free. I like your take on it. Very nice.

I think it can be explained from another perspective. 
It's a bit like the Buddhist concept of Śūnyatā / Suññatā
Śūnyatā / Suññatā literally means emptiness...
There is no ‘me’ there, so my emotions don't exist.
Everything is just the combination of the four elements of earth, wind, water, and fire.
That's why monks always say that the four elements are Śūnyatā...

That's it! 
That refers to the emptiness in Buddhism.
Śūnyatā / Suññatā does not mean that you are empty.
Rather, in Buddhist thought, phenomena are the result of the combination of the four elements.
There is no subject, so it is said to be empty.
You are also the result of the combination of the four elements, so there is no self.
Since there is no self, there are no afflictions that belong to the self.
